Additionally, he found worn/ rusted parts internally and replaced them, even throwing in a few parts for free that he had around his shop. He even took the time to instruct and visually show me steps to maintain and winterize/ launch for fall and spring. On top of that, he gifted me an original instruction book for my boat and a tub of eco friendly heavy duty hand cleaner. He's been in business for 40+ years and has invaluable knowledge of these older boats. Other shops in town go to him for knowledge. Re: the 1 star review. 40+ years for specialized technical knowledge is not free. Yes, lawyers, doctors, professors all get paid for their knowledge and so do highly specialized technical mechanics. If you didn't want to spend money, you shouldn't have bought a "boat." Shame on you for expecting free knowledge and service AND 1 starring the business. It's not the businesses fault that you don't want to pay for its services.

He…read moreliterally charges for 2 less than 5 minute conversations, as well as embellishing and rounding WAY up the amount of time it took to just "look" at how our boat started up. He charged us $400 for less than 15 mins work and the 2 less than 5 minute conversations. You will get ripped off if you take your boat to him. It is very unfortunate that he is the only person locally that works on older boats. Our boat still isn't usable/fixed, yet we are now an additional $400 out. Not ok and not good business.

I had a terrible experience with the service department and my yamaha F250. In the end I got the…read moreboat back (after 5 weeks) and it seems to run the same as when I took it to them. I lost business, was terrified with them tearing my motor apart (after specifically telling them not to). They were behind schedule and always have an excuse why they are not done with the work even after making an appointment weeks in advance. I have been banned from the service department and from buying parts from them, in writing. Truthfully, I had/have zero intentions of ever doing business with them again. Pretty bad after spending $80,000.00 on a boat with them and buying 75% of my maintenance parts from them. My next boat will be a Raider and it will not have a Yamaha on it. I had a boat top made 10 months ago from Busters. There were a few issues with my design criteria…read morenot being met. As an example there were common sense fasteners installed where I wanted snaps. This was done to ensure the top would remain secure, however they were always in the way during use. I used the boat nearly 80 days this summer in thunderstorms, wind, and rain and overall the top performed with minimal problems. Willie guarantees his work and I brought the boat and top back at the end of the season to get the issues corrected. He promptly changed out the fasteners, installed many new snaps that were beginning to corrode, and replaced a zipper that was not working properly. He also modified my windows for better visibility. All of this was done at zero cost to me. He stands by his work and I want to thank him for making this right for me. Thanks again! Brian Groseclose
