Some of the vegetables are things you'd struggle to find elsewhere. Having come in search of some horchata, I found multiple brands of powdered horchata in the Salvadoran style with a mix of powdered seeds (not just rice). So, mission accomplished there. Second, the wine section often has good prices on decent wines. Not easy to find these days. Some of them are organic. And finally, there are some freshly prepared foods that make the co-op a destination store for me. Sushi. And those spicy samosas that are kept in the warmer near the soups. Especially the cabbage one! Apparently they are made by Zemen, the Ethiopian grocery on Maple, so you could also look for them there. That is the co-op the way I experience it. But luckily, the party was a hit and with all the games and gifts, they got over it. And were excited just to have a slice of cake. So, take this as a warning. Do not order a cake here.
