Location is key for most and the fact that its less than 15 minutes from downtown was a key aspect on top of the cheap price point. Hotels for me are typically not extravagant as I am looking to sleep only in them for a few hours then get up and run around for the day. With that said, do not expect a lavish hotel, these are inexpensive for a reason. They are clean, yet small and have limited features. You can unpack with ease and have room to move around still, which cannot be said for many other Ibis locations. Bathroom is stocked with what you need, clean yet again, and has running hot water, so I am basically sold at this point. Staff downstairs is very helpful and the lobby is actually quite large and offers a decent breakfast area (Did not partake). Another awesome perk is on the weekend across the street is a local farmers market with fresh goods! On top of that, the neighborhood is surrounded with various restaurants, so all and all you are covered on food. Would I stay here again? You betcha, well worth the price and does the job for a budget friendly hotel.

But I didn't feel concerned for my safety at all. Just the usual exterior train station shenanigans. Beautiful lobby with a nice bar and plenty of lounge space. Lovely staff. So helpful. Great rate for a big clean room. Huge bathroom. Nice Nespresso machina. The pool is quite lovely. Of course this changes in a minute when the crappy guests show up. I took advantage of both Hammam and sauna. REALLY enjoyed until previously mentioned crap guests joined. Oh well. Always the case. No fault of hotel. What is their fault is that hallways outside room stink, like hot rotten eggs. So gross. Probably old carpets. My only real complaint!

The rooms have a small fridge and safe box which is a plus. The views from my room 614 were nice, especially that it didn't get dark until about 10 p.m. Breakfast was included. I liked the fact that the breakfast buffet was limited. I've been to breakfast buffets where there is just too much food. The breakfast included vegan options. Orange juice and tomato juice were the only option. Sometimes there was a mango smoothie. There are self-serve coffee machines that include warm milk. There are waffles with Nutella and mini pancakes. During the last two days, the hotel was making renovations to the floor where the restaurant is. We were sent to have breakfast on the 12th floor. The view of Antwerp is spectacular. When you arrive, you get two free waters in the fridge. If you forego cleaning the next day, you can get a free drink. I believe it's beer, wine and sodas. I had a wonderful margarita at the bar but it cost me 15 Euros. The world cup games were showing at the lobby and they were offered Popsicles. It's a great location as you have the train station next door. I had arrived by train from the Brussels airport. Around the corner from the hotel you can go to Lidl supermarket to buy prepared foods. On the other side of the train station, a longer walk, you have Albert Heijn supermarket. They have a bigger variety. I bought a delicious sandwich with plant based bacon. The only problem I have is with the bath tub in the room. It's slippery. I had to put the floor towel on the tub so I wouldn't slip. They have shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and hand soap in the bathroom. I was glad to see that. It's a great hotel unless you want to stay in the city center.

I had a seamless check in with Colin and Dorothy who gave me great recommendations of local restaurants and sights to see. Top-notch view out of our room with balcony. The breakfast on the 12th floor was the best breakfast view I've ever had. The food was great and Noa was such a help when she showed us around and the balcony that was perfect for sipping coffee from. It is a shame that it was just temporarily on the 12th floor. We did have two issues with the room; our lamp was inoperable (But the lovely Klaas helped us out quickly) and a lot of noice issues from the fitness above our room that woke us up. Every day, in the lobby, I felt so at home with warm greetings from staff. The front desk workers approached and asked how my stay was. The bar had great drinks and amazing Chicken Cesar Salad. Iulia made amazing Gin and tonic from a locally made Gin and she was lovely company while we sat and enjoyed our drinks in the lounge. For the rest, it was great. Colin, Dorothy, Randy, Wout, Noa, Iulia, Klaas all deserve a round of applause for making our stay amazing.
