BED BUGS!!! I checked in here on a work trip. Spent about 2 hours in my room before getting ready for bed. Turned my pillow over and very clearly saw what resembled a brown tick (later learned that ticks and bed bugs look very similar) on the pillow. I screeched and threw it across the room. Immediately left the hotel and went to the Holiday Inn Express 10 minutes away which was the same price and 1000x cleaner and nicer. So not only were there bedbugs in my room but the assistant manager stated that he would be unable to refund my room when I explained what happened. He implied that they do not believe me and will have to wait until the exterminator comes through. I definitely think this should have been immediately refunded.... GROSS! read more

The hotel is a beautiful, old property on the town square. The inside is updated while still retaining historic charm. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Pia was amazing and a gracious host. She was so friendly and accommodating. She went out of her way to get my large family a conference room to eat our breakfast together. Her casual conversation with us made us feel very welcome. The Speakeasy downstairs was great. Good food, nice beer selection, live music, and fun atmosphere. The staff was also very accommodating. With our large group, they needed to gather tables to make it work. If I have a need to return to Warren, I'll definitely stay here again. read more

Our party of 4 had traveled from Baltimore, MD and had to unexpectedly change our plans at the last minute, leaving us tired, hungry, and irritated to say the least. Which is when we stumbled upon this little gem. The price was decent; a little higher than we would have liked and definitely higher than we expected, since to us, it seemed like we were in the middle of nowhere. The front desk staff was very accommodating and helpful. We reserved (2) rooms for (2) nights. The rooms were updated, the beds were large and both were clean. The bathroom was a good size and it too was clean. We didn't know anything about the area so the next day the staff gave us suggestions as far as dining went, and we did venture to the "speakeasy" onsite, on the bottom floor of the hotel. The atmosphere was very lively and upbeat, but that did make it hard to talk to the bartender and for them to keep our drinks filled. The first night anyway. The second night was no problem for either. Another plus was that it was open late and didn't require us stumbling in the middle of the night. The hotel had alcoholic beverages (beer and wine coolers) available for purchase in a vending machine kinda way - but from a fridge, that was kept locked and the front desk attendant had to unlock. That was really convenient and a bonus we thought. There was an issue one of our nights with a staff member that wasn't the friendliest but we tried to put it past us. Then the morning of check-out, where we already had paid extra, we were constantly nagged to get out. That really irked us because not only did we have a discrepancy with what we paid - which was disrupted, but we had paid for a late check out and felt we should've been treated a little better. It's not like it was a major city with a line of people waiting for a room. Surely we knew we had to check out but to hound us, not so customer service oriented. All in all, I would definitely stay here again, (hopefully with some kind of promotion so the room is cheaper) since it was overall clean, most of the staff was very accommodating, and it served its purposed for 4 tired travelers :) read more

We enjoyed our stay overall. Unfortunately the included breakfast was "ho- hum" and there is no pool like most other best westerns. The staff, although not overly friendly, were pleasant and helpful. There is a great restaurant/bar right under the hotel that had fantastic food and very nice staff. The building has neat older architecture that makes it stand out a bit from other hotels. I wouldn't say it was exceptional or worth the price per night by any means but it was decent. read more

The Best Western Park Hotel is probably one of the best non-luxury hotels I've ever stayed at. The property had a quaint, historic charm that really differentiated itself from a typical Best Western. It looked much more like a boutique hotel than anything else. The front desk staff was really nice. I interacted with three different people over the course of my stay and they were all friendly and helpful. The rooms were updated and modern, and they were very clean. A clean room is probably one of the most important factors in my hotel experience, and I certainly felt comfortable here. The mattress was SO comfy! I almost wish I had more time during my trip to spend time in it. The bath products they carried were I all name brand- Vaseline and Pantene. Very nice touch. There was a "mini bar" in the hotel lobby next to the vending machine. At first I thought it was a wine and beer vending machine, but the front desk held the key and ran the sales. My husband and I got 187 mL bottles of Robert Mondavi wine. We were able to get one a piece (not a 4-pack), and they were $4 each. Good deal! In the morning, there was a breakfast buffet between the hours of 6:30-9:30. It wasn't the greatest, but it included hot options like pancakes, eggs and sausage. The room was under $100 and I had a great stay, so I'm really not concerned that breakfast wasn't a gourmet meal. I probably won't be passing through Warren again, but I'd stay at this hotel in a heartbeat if I ever came back. read more

Recently renovated (2013), this is a beautiful historic building that dates from the 1880s. Dark wood beams and moulding, stained glass, and soaring ceilings in the lobby. Our room wasn't very big but it was clean and comfortable with 2 queen beds (and desk, office chair, fridge, microwave, armoire, iron & board, hair dryer). All the linens and furniture seemed new. Strong and steady wifi. The staff were all very warm and friendly. Across the street is a large town square where our kids saw fireflies for the first time. (Not much else to do after dinner, the vicinity of the hotel is super quiet at night.) Breakfast included bacon, scrambled eggs, pancakes fresh from a machine, sugary yogurt, fresh fruit and the usuals (toast, cereal, milk, coffee, juice, bagels/pastries/muffins). The only (slight) ding is the towels weren't quite as large and thick as I expect from Best Western (maybe a holdover from the hotel's Comfort Inn days). No swimming pool. We stayed in a room that was spacious and clean - two huge items on our checklist. After checking in, the front desk called our room to see if everything was to our liking and asked if we needed anything. Who does that anymore? It's located downtown across from the courthouse, so parking is behind the building. The parking lot is well lit in the evening and early morning hours and has an entrance gate and exit gate. To enter the lot, you either have to swipe your hotel "key" or pay $3 to park. There isn't much nightlife nearby, but you can find plenty of places within a few minutes drive. If you're looking for a place to get a good night's rest, this is it! If you're hungry, or just need a beer, the Sunrise Inn is less than a half mile away and worth the visit! read more

I was very impressed with the Renovations that was made to the Hotel. The Hallways have the "New Carpet" smell and the rooms look just like some of the ones that I've seen in other, bigger cities elsewhere. They really spent the money and took the time to get it right. I came to town to visit my Mom for Thanksgiving and have dinner at her house. Everything went very well. Check-In was very easy and fast and the staff was very polite. Everything was 100% as far as functionality. The sink, toilet, air/heat, T.V., etc. all worked as expected. I like the fact that the Hotel is located in Dowttown Warren right off of Market St. That was really important to me because it is easier for me to find my way around this way. I'm so glad I stayed here for the simple fact that My Mom wanted to me and the family to stay with her and we opted otherwise. WE WERE NOT DISSAPOINTED WITH OUR DECISION. They also have secure, gated parking behind the Hotel with a Load/Unload area in front of the Hotel. With the location being where it is you can also walk to different shops in the downtown area. Not only did they charge me a 250 dollar "smoking" fee but I had to leave because of this. I left the room to get some food and upon my arrival back they told me they smelled smoke so they entered my room when I wasnt there and found evidence I was smoking! When I told them I didnt smoke in the room and what was the evidence...he stated my window was open!....I will be calling Corp and I will get my money back. Rooms are tiny. Tvs are tiny. IMPORTANT INFO: This place is newly remodeled and came highly recommended by a family member, so I went ahead and stayed there. I was pleased with the cleanliness and the updated interior. The problem came when I stepped outside one night to grab something from my car in the parking lot, and a strange man walked up out of NOWHERE and started asking questions about helping him out... I started my vehicle and drove off (he walked off as well) and I called the front desk to report this. The man was not threatening, but I had to let them know they had people walking on their property soliciting money from their customers. The lady at the front desk thanked me for telling her and said they'd do a better job with surveillance on the property and that the city/county jail and police station were very nearby, so they get alot of folks walking through after they've been released from jail... I wish I had known that prior to booking. This is NOT a good look for a hotel and customers should never have to deal with that. read more

First we had 4 wine coolers and second we never smoked in room. Now I have to argue this charge. If u stay their have them check out room before u leave. read more

BEWARE !!!!!!! This place was the absolute WORST hotel experience that I have ever had. I am a medical professional and I unfortunately stayed there longer than I should have. To begin, I had most all of my personal care items "missing" from my bathroom. When I reported the "theft" they claimed that they had a "new housekeeper." According to the management, she did not have enough training and she thought I had already checked out. HOWEVER, I was staying the week and the rest of the room still had clothes in the closet and my other belongings in CLEAR VIEW. I did not want a bad vibe, as I planned to stay there in the future so I let it go. So, let me tell you how I was repaid for my forgiveness. To start, I noticed that some days my towels never really smelled very clean - like they forgot to add laundry detergent. AGAIN, I let it go. So you can imagine my shock when the owners decided to make an unauthorized charge to my credit card for $100.00 - And for what? Get this - A TOWEL that they could not GET CLEAN due to a makeup STAIN!!!!So I guess they really DON'T use laundry soap YUCK!!!- Makes you wonder what else they do to save money. I also had to buy air fresheners because the room smelled so awful. (Compliments from my extended stay neighbors that loved to cook with ethic spices). The complimentary shampoo and conditioner (which I had to use because mine was STOLEN) was regrettably some Dollar General knock off brand that smelled terrible and was of the lowest quality. Here's a good one - When I asked for a toothbrush and toothpaste (again to replace mine that had been STOLEN)! I was kindly given a ketchup sized packet of toothpaste and a ONE time use toothbrush and with 5 days left on my reservation before I checked out. I cannot make this up!! Also, this "Best GHETTO Western Park Hotel" is too cheap to invest in a water softener. This nasty water tasted so bad you could not drink it right from the tap and it totally dried my hair and skin out by the end of the week. Thank goodness I had that quality, discount bargain bin, complimentary shampoo, conditioner and lotion). HA!!! The complimentary breakfast was also a joke - the fruit was ALWAYS old and too brown to eat. I know - I know - I should have ran and not looked back - but Pia the manager and the night desk staff were SO AMAZING and professional - I overlooked the obvious NIGHTMARE- It wasn't until Mrs. PateI got back from India and decided to "clean house" ( as explained by one of the daytime employees) was when the warts on the frog really started to show and I could no longer overlook this heinous business. Incidentally, I hope that attempt to charge me $100.00 for a dirty towel wash was worth this review. As if my my bank will really authorize the frivolous, fraudulent $100.00 charge for a TOWEL!!!Thankfully, Visa insures customers from scandalous businesses such as this. In fact, that move was so shady, my bank suggested I cancel my credit card. (Which of course I did). There is one good thing that came out of this horrific experience. I found a Hilton Hotel in Warren/Niles area that is AMAZING!!! Please do not waste your money at the Warren, Ohio's BEST GHETTO WESTERN PARK HOTEL. You would be better off staying at Econo Lodge or Motel 6. In fact, you may fare better sleeping in your car. This place does a huge disservice to not only the customer but the Best Western franchise as well. Amazing that such grossly unprofessional, misinformed and socially challenged individuals could end up attempting to run a Best Western. One would surmise that there is more to owning a hotel- one would hope that you could run it as well. They have not a CLUE on what the customer service model is all about. Horrible service at a mediocre hotel. Shift manager tried to charge additional money for the room even though rate was negotiated with the front desk clerk at check-in. VERY shady operation. Manager was so rude and menacing that we were uncomfortable staying. After this ordeal, we learned that this hotel is notorious for pulling this type of shady scam on multi-night guests. Niles hotels (44446) are nicer, newer, more reputable, and only 3 minutes away. Don't waste your time with this Warren flophouse run by shady scammers. read more

The owner of this hotel is rude and completely lacking in hospitality. Stay at your own risk because if something goes wrong, you will not get a satisfactory resolution from the owner. It's a pretty hotel, but not worth the risk of something going wrong only to have the owner/management be unresponsive and nearly hostile. The owner went so far as to accuse us of lying and raised her voice to us while lecturing us! What kind of business model is that? Apparently at the Best Western Park Hotel, the customer is never right. They've entirely reversed the customer service model. I will never stay here again and I am writing reviews everywhere so I can to warn others. Note: the ending to this story? The staff member Tara went above and beyond to intervene on our behalf. Because she acted as an intermediary between us and the owner to help us find a resolution, we have one positive note to this entire horrific experience. Details: We booked through Priceline. We are veteran Priceline users. Thus, we know the whole drill about Priceline, including that you have to take what they give you. However, an industry standard hotel room is either a king or two queen beds. That is what is advertised on Priceline and that is what a person is supposed to be receiving. We stay frequently in hotels throughout the nation as part of our work, sometimes via Priceline and sometimes directly through the hotel booking site, so we are veteran travelers. We have extensive experience with hotels of various types and quality levels. Again, the industry standard is either a king or two queen beds. The Best Western Park Hotel assigns Priceline users a single queen bed. Why does this matter? We have small children who can either fit with us in a king or in two queen beds. So, we called the Best Western Park Hotel around 2:30 pm on the day of our arrival and talked to an assistant manager, Yamir, and asked to change to a double bed room. They would not allow it. Okay, that's fine. Then we asked to have a rollaway cot, at least. Yamir said he would set one aside for us so it would be waiting. We arrived at about 5:30 pm with our little children after a long day in the car only to be told that no rollaway was available. Not only that, we were told that information in a completely rude manner by the owner. She is in the hospitality business and yet her response was to tell us that she isn't required to give us a rollaway cot and that we were lying and never were promised a rollaway cot by Yamir. That is an APPALLING way to respond to a customer problem. Additionally, we later saw that the in-room hotel guide lists that cribs are available but she never offered even that, even though we were holding a crying baby in our arms. After we insisted repeatedly that something needed to be done (this was now 10-15 minutes into the situation) she finally said we could stay at the other hotel she owns, in a smoking room (remember the baby? plus I have asthma) for ONE night even though we were booked for two nights. Plus, that hotel is twenty minutes away. This came after continuous interaction with her for 10-15 minutes with her continuously refusing to do anything and accusing us of lying, and raising her voice to us, and lecturing us in front of other hotel customers! Through sheer luck, somebody had a reservation change while we were in the lobby trying to figure out what to do and Tara stepped in to ask the owner if she could give us that person's no-longer-needed hotel room. Stayed here while in town to see Joe Walsh. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The front desk staff was exceptional! Our only complaint was that there was a bus to take guests to the concert, but we didn't know about it until we were at the concert. The breakfast was really good. The room was gorgeous, very clean and inviting. Courtesy breakfast had great variety, again a clean environment and very fresh! Even have a fabulous pancake machine!! Shortly after checking out they called to say we had forgotten an item and we were able to return to collect our belongings! Amazing service!!! Will definitely stop there again ....
