The venue provided a coordinator to the couple and that person was changed out 5 times in the year long planning. The day of coordinator snapped at guests saying that she already told us to move to our seats once already. After ceremony it was not clear where cocktails hour would take place. Turns out that it was in the same room as reception so most guests went straight to their seats (no mingling.) The cocktails were great - bartender was fast and friendly. The DJ from the venue package declared that he does not make announcements of any kind as well as his set list was very boring and the music did not flow from song to song to keep the energy up on the dance floor. Dinner salad was sporadically dressed- some people our table got dressing while others did not. Food tasted fine - the cheesecake was served scooped like ice cream which is a different presentation from the couple's tasting. The day of coordinator questioned the cold sparks which were pre-approved (lack of communication with prior contacts.) After clarification, the coordinator permitted the cold sparks. Finally the late night buffet served sliders and fries with no condiments (no ketchup at all!!) The venue specializes in weddings and in my opinionl they are doing the bare minimum.

This is a conveniently located hotel right in front of the University. Walking distance to the…read moreschool, store, restaurants and about 15-18 mins to the mall. As far as the hotel itself is concerned, it's a basic, no fancy style. The staff is really nice and the amenities are minimal (maybe it's the Marriott thing). The breakfast buffet is mediocre in variety. I asked for an egg white omelette which was extremely greasy and had yolks. They charged me $4.49 for my coffee on day 1, $3.50 on day 2 and $1.53 for day 3. For-the-exact-same-coffee. I think it was a little nuts. I called the front desk to ask about this strange coffee pricing anomaly and they didn't seem to get it.

This is a comfortable and well run hotel. Our check-in was quick--just had to sign a waiver since…read moreour 3 Pekingese were travelling with us. Truly a pet friendly hotel -- though there was a pet fee, it was a very reasonable flat $20 fee. Unfortunately this was a very quick trip in and out to take one of our dogs to the local Ontario Veterinary College for an MRI. I hope to return sometime for a longer stay to enjoy the hotel's amenities and relaxing atmosphere. We had a room with two queen beds that was larger than the typical hotel room. There was a small refrigerator and a very long desk. There was a cordless phone and an alarm clock that not only showed you the time on the front but also displayed the time on each side so you could see it as you were lying in bed. We were surprised to find a nice note from the manager welcoming us as a Marriott Rewards member. We were using a certificate for 1 night's free stay and as a thank you for choosing their hotel we had a delicious plate of fresh berries and exquisite chocolate as a welcoming gift. The bathroom area was separated by a pocket door so that the toilet and the shower tub combination are separate from the sink and two very large mirrors which were great for putting on makeup and having counter space for your Essentials. I don't think the hotel was very full on a Sunday night, I found the rooms to be very quiet and relaxing. All of the staff welcomed our three dogs and seemed very happy to have them there even sharing photos with us of their own dogs. Why not 5 stars vs. 4? Sorry, I'm spoiled by hotels that always have coffee/tea available in the lobby and complimentary breakfast. I'm not ready to pay $15.95 for a buffet breakfast. The hotel's location is also very convenient as it is literally adjacent to the University of Guelph campus, 5 minutes to the Ontario Veterinary College, in less than 10 minutes to the downtown retail/restaurant area.

The breakfast wasn't good...the selection was limited and didn't taste good. The WiFi is horrible to boot. The bath tub was covered in soap scum and water backed up the drain during showers. The lobby smelled like a sewer and sketchy folks were always hanging around the lobby and halls. Unfortunately the team had to stay at the hotel to play in a tournament. Lastly my daughter locked her key card in the room and was able to get a new key without any idea or verification. Scary place!!

The first night my friend found out she was bitten on her back and didn't think nothing of it. Then the next night around 2am in the morning, I was unpacking my things and found a bed bug in my luggage. So I immediately went downstairs to speak to the supervisor and he offered us a new room next door where we were currently staying. The pictures below are proof to show that the new room that was offered to us was far more in a worst condition than the room we was currently staying in. Long story short, my friend ended up getting her money refunded back to her for the 5 nights and as I'm writing this review, the hotel staff is still investigating the bed bug infestation in order to get her full refund smh!!
