Stayed 9 days here in December. The location is fantastic: a short walk from Metro lines 6 and 8, which puts the whole of Paris within 40 minutes. A nice assortment of food nearby (the usual French assortment of cafes, brasseries, boulangeries, etc; plus a market and an interesting assortment of Lebanese, Thai, and Chinese restaurants) and only a 15 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower.
The staff are welcoming and helpful. This being Paris, they do speak English, though I made efforts to speak to them with my limited French both for my own practice and out of common courtesy. The staff was also very patient with these attempts and several of them were willing to speak "lent et facile" as I developed my ear for the language.
The elevator is tiny, so if you have any quantity of luggage and no desire to carry it upstairs you might end up taking it in several trips. Rooms are clean though small, as you should probably expect for this rate in city center. The windows open fully and we were able to get a nice breeze in during the day. The downside of the nice windows in a bustling urban center is that you will want to keep the shades drawn if you have any desire for privacy from the apartments across the street.
The location is not unusually noisy - there is just the usual din of the city. The other tenants while I was there were generally quiet. We had the breakfast one morning, and it was a pretty good spread at a reasonable, if slightly high, rate. The hotel had no issues keeping us supplied with coffee and cream. read more
