Blood on the sheets

TERRIBLE HOTEL Our room was not clean. We found old pop tart crumbs and wrappers behind the bed and BLOOD ON THE SHEETS . Do not stay here I give them a -10/10. I highly DON'T recommend

Here for a birthday party - would not rent a room here if they are half as gross as the pool area. Mold on the floors and the water is murky and smells like it's been wrung through a sweaty gym sock.

The Best Western brand has been a good hotel brand to me over the years I've been traveling for marathons. They provide comfort and safety while you're on the road while being affordable, but sometimes they're not always the cheapest. I found this Best Western Braddock Motor Inn on Hotels.com while planning my 2nd east coast trip of 2016 back in July. The location in between Keyser, WV and Cumberland, MD made this location very much ideal and it was priced moderately at the time at around $102/night. It was better than some of the others that I had seen online (price wise) and Best Western was the brand that I trusted the most after seeing the listing. The best thing about Best Western and Hotels.com is that I can book the hotel online but not pay for it until I arrive at the hotel. This made it easier for me, much like booking rental cars and not have to pay for the booking till you get there. It was easy to find, considering that I had GPS on my iPhone, so that made everything virtually seamless. I love this brand, but usually I try to get something cheaper without sacrificing safety and reliability. I stayed here for two nights on Friday and Saturday, September 23 and 24, 2016. I was given room 205. The overall experience here at the Best Western Braddock Motor Inn was pretty good, but yet average. The hotel is modest yet clean and safe. The in-room amenities included the microwave and fridge, although the fridge wasn't as cold as it should be. The air conditioning/heater worked good as well as the television. I got a room with 2 double beds. Since I stayed two nights, I slept on both beds. Both of them were comfortable and I got a decent night's sleep on each time I was there, especially since I really needed my rest to be able to put out 26.2 miles on foot the next morning. Needed to be well rested for that! The Best Western Braddock Motor Inn is located at 12680 National Highway in La Vale, Maryland. It's right off the I-68, so you can't miss it, unless you're coming from Pittsburgh, PA via Morgantown, WV like I was. Like many hotels out there, this Best Western property has a private parking for its guests. There's plenty of parking and the building itself is large enough to support multiple entrances to the building. I ended up getting assigned to entrance "D", since that's the closest one to my hotel room. Like all hotels these days in the industry, they accept major credit cards. Always a good thing. Not sure if there are people who pay cash for a room anymore, but I'm sure that they're out there. The only problem I had with my experience here at the Best Western Braddock Inn was that the 2nd floor ice machine didn't work, so I had to waddle down to the first floor to get ice. Not easy to do when you ran 26.2 miles earlier in the day and had to go up and down stairs. Still, it was a little annoying to have the ice dispenser not working when you want it too. The room itself was clean and organized. It was of average size, complete with aforementioned fridge and microwave, a moderately sized television, two double beds, and a bathroom tub and sink. It was a comfortable stay, but an average experience. I guess when you travel regularly, you know what you pay for. No bells and whistles here, just basic comfort and a good night's rest at an affordable price is all I ask, and I get that here with the Best Western brand. I would recommend this Best Western property if you are traveling through western Maryland and needing a place to stay. The stay would be 3.5 stars overall, while the beds were 4.0 stars. Check in and out service was quick and painless. Friendly and hospitable. 4.0 stars. Support local! B

We got a refund after the 2nd room. I've never experienced anything like this. The lady at the front desk (Sarah maybe) was very nice and accommodating. This is just one picture shared, we have videos and pictures of not just bites but the INSANE amount of fleas in the room. If you don't want to take my word for it try this lil test I learned after staying in this hotel: when/if u get a room here put on a white sock and rub it across the carpet and prepare yourself for a crap ton of fleas stuck to your sock.

Outside the pet area needed mowed, and the grounds could have used some weeding. Pets are welcome but there are some areas marked with signs where they do not want pets walked. The IHG app said the pet fee was $10 but we were charged $25, which is the amount another reviewer mentioned. The hotel has a pool and hot tub. I used both, and had the luxury of being the only person in there that night. We were on the first floor and our a/c unit was pretty loud but otherwise a good enough room! We drove to a restaurant nearby for dinner and the server there did recommend D'Atri's restaurant for breakfast and we could have walked there from our hotel.

I had to call the police due to fear for my life, at this property, as the man in the next room…read morethreatened to "Beat the [expletive] out of [me]." The product I purchased, which was reasonably restful sleep in two hotel rooms, was not delivered. I reserved two non-smoking rooms online at a Wyndham Rewards rate of $65/night for four nights. One room was to have a pet, the other room was for a person who is highly allergic to animals, and both were nonsmoking. THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD OVER $1,000. I was told there was a pet fee of $25, which I am on board with, and is the reason, assumedly, for the difference in prices, above. A pet fee is less expensive than boarding a pet, and there is also potentially more cleaning which needs to be done. I am grateful to Wyndham for offering this, and that's why I am a rewards member and hold a Wyndham credit card. When I arrived, however, the manager stated it was per day. I was unhappy that this was not explained in the stated policy, but wasn't going to quibble. Then, the manager showed me a printout of the rate, which increased every day, to a high of about $90. I said the rate I booked online, directly on their site (independently owned) was $65 per night He got outraged, started yelling at me that they don't have any such rate (see screenshot above). He had me sign multiple documents for each room. When I asked for a copy, he said, "these are all for us." I said I'd like a copy, and he said I'd get one at checkout. The manager repeatedly demanded that I pay cash for the room. When I got to the room, it absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke, despite there being signs all around the room warning of a $250 charge for anyone who smokes. I called down to the main desk to ask to be moved, but no one answered. After several tries, I had to get to my dinner reservation, so left. When I returned, no one was at the desk, just a sign pointing to a kiosk that was neither staffed nor working, unless one wanted to check in or out. Every time the heater came on, I was blasted with the overpowering odor of stale cigarette smoke, and my clothing and possessions all smelled like it at the end of this trip. That night, at approximately 2:30 AM, a loud, loud party began, with many people speaking Spanish at the top of their lungs (I speak Spanish and could hear them talking about other people, their job, and various other things). This carried on until shortly after 5 AM. I tried to be neighborly and didn't say anything, but this is a place for people to sleep. The next morning, I went to the front desk, and the young woman who works there said the hotel is filled with construction worker who work nights. I asked if I could be moved elsewhere, as the room with the part was adjoining mine, and she said no. That morning, they closed breakfast early (breakfast was included in the room rate), so we had no breakfast. Mid-day, when the manager came in I again asked for a receipt (no), to change the credit card for the second room (no), to be moved (no), and for a proactive approach to noise control (if they are loud again, call the front desk). The front desk, overnight, is staffed by a young woman, so the manager was passing off this unsavory task to her, as he was not even available. I left for the day, taking my pet with me, and I did not hang out a "do not disturb" sign, as there was not one provided. When I returned, neither hotel room had been serviced. If there is an extra per-day pet fee to clean, why would I be charged this fee and then not have the room cleaned? And then, sure enough, promptly at 2:26 PM, the party began again. Here are three voice recordings of the high level of noise, which I took recordings of. I called the front desk. The woman said she'd call the room. Their phone rang, and then stopped after three rings. At about 4 AM, I finally banged on the adjoining door to ask them to quiet down. The man yelled, in English, "KNOCK AGAIN AND I'LL BEAT THE [expletive} OUT OF YOU!" As a woman, alone in the adjoining room, I felt unsafe (and I live in a high-crime area of Boston, so I do not frighten easily) to the point of having to call the police. While my lungs were being singed with cigarette smoke from the heater. The police arrived and asked them to quiet down or they'd be back. Then the noise ceased, but again, it was nearing 5 AM.

Upon searching hotel, found complaint from ex employee who quit because he was told he had to charge an extra $250 to anyone that had a "black" person with them or in their room. What a disgrace. Do not get a room here! This racist man does not deserve to run a business in our community!

You go into the room and adjust the temperature settings and it's how you want within 15 minutes. Water pressure in the shower could have been better, but not a major flaw.
