DO NOT USE! My new granite top was fabricated and installed by Best Tops and the main point of contact was Bill Arcieri (owner). After the top was installed I received a call from my contractor notifying me that there was an extensive crack/fissure in the product - the counter top is 25 1/2" and the crack/fissue is 23 1/2"! My contractor notified Bill of this and he responded that fissures are naturally occuring and we were notified of this in his paperwork. It is true his paperwork discusses fissures, however we were also told that he would do his best to presevere features of the stone we wanted but no guarantees. His email states: "It is our direction to cut and seam the material on how it will work with your project and also to work around any defects that occur in natural stone." I asked Bill if he would like photos of this to evaluate prior to our in person meeting, his response was, "I have already seen it during fabrication and again at installation." We met with Bill, in person and again were told that this is a fissure, not a crack, and that he was not going to do anything about it. We asked him why, as the "expert", didn't he pick up the phone and call his customer to at least say, "Did you notice this 23 1/2" fissure/crack when you picked the slab? Do you really want us to use it?" (or something!!) He responded that he did not feel this warranted a call to the customer because it wasn't an issue. I have had multiple people from the construction business, including those who deal with granite, in my home and all of them had said it is one of the worst they have seen. read more
