Worst Evaluations Ever. They conned me into paying in advance for a discount. I took the bait. They were supposed to send me the physician recommendation and the attestation form. After repeated phone calls and emails, they finally sent one form. They kept telling me they would send via snail and via email the second form. Both forms are necessary to got the state ID card. For many months they have continued to lie. This has been going on for over for months now. To this date, I never received the form. My application has been denied as I did not send in the second form. I will find another Doctor and start the process all over. I am working with my credit card company to have the charges reversed. I've been using this place for about 6 years but I had a lapse in my last renewal. Obviously with all the Covid-19 restrictions I wanted to make an appointment for my renewal to avoid waiting with a crowd in an enclosed space. I called, and to my surprise they now offer renewals over the phone!! It took about 10 minutes tops for the representative to look up my info in their system and take my payment. They're sending me a new ID card in the mail today, which I should receive by end of week. AND in the meantime I have the temporary paper ID that they emailed me today. Pretty awesome!! I called back to ask to speak with the Manager and was told to hold on. SHE hung up on me. I called four more times at it went to message. I was so upset with the receptionist/nurses attitudes that I went back in. I asked to speak with the manager and (the attitudes) told me that there was not a manager. I asked to see the doctor and a woman came form the back (NOT the Doctor). The big woman told me that they would prefer not to do business with me. So this post is a couple days late. I was recommend to this place by greenhouse (James)-such a nice guy. I had never been and did not know what I was walking into. To let you know first off I do suffer from anxiety. It's was quick process, you get examined, and the M.D makes sure you are eligible. The only problem I had is with that one blonde Russian lady at the counter after you meet the M.D., I went up to her as soon as I'm done being evaluated and tell her that I only want the certificate- she proceeded to let me know that I owed $70 bucks which I know is still a good deal. But I was told by James from greenhouse that make sure I get the $50 certificate. $20 bucks is $20 bucks!!! She still insisted on $70, I then mentioned the yelp discount because there is a big sign in the waiting room, "ask about yelp discount", she said "okay i'll give you $10 off. I was satisfied at that moment ------until she said I had to post the review right there. (I had other things to do and figured when I have time I would have posted it.) I went back to the waiting room with my husband and tried to post a damn review. 1. There name didn't pop up. Until I went to ask the girl to look it up herself. 2. She gave me attitude and said that, "if I dont post my review she can't give me discount. 3. It was extremely stuffy, while all of this was going on. I thought that was ridiculous, to make your clients or customers write a review on the spot to get a discount. Overall it was a quick service since there was 4-5people ahead of me. They probably vote Trump there in Van Nuys lol. The only reason I had tried Van Nuys is that, the medication prices in the Valley can be half of that on the Westside, so I wanted to quickly renew my medical rec and buy something while I was there for a business. Edible and vape stuff is more or less the same price all over. Try vaping, it is worth it, less lung issues. Just get a $15 spinner-style pen and a $25 oil cartridge to try. So fast and friendly! Called and they have multiple locations, but the girl I spoke to made sure I knew which one I was setting appt to. She was helpful, and so was the girl in the office. Pricing is competitive and while they are thorough it was a fast process! Parking was easy too because of the size of the lot. I went after 5:30 on a Friday and had no trouble getting a spot! Came here to renew my medical card figuring it will b open by the time I get here. Noticed on the door their hours has chances from Monday thru Saturday 11:00 am to 6:30 pm. They're closed Sundays. So it's just a few more minutes to wait which is ok but their hours needs to be updated in this app. I've been going here for sometime now and I find it does has the best price for medical card renewal. If you go anyway MY ADVICE: I was forced to buy an ID Card (see below) which does bear the signature of the doctor on site, but it is written using a felt tip pen (which can be wiped off with a casual rub of a finger). As soon as you can, get a piece of Scotch Tape and completely cover the signature and until you do-DON'T TOUCH IT! GETTING THERE The office is located in a corner strip mall on the North-West corner of Sepulveda and Vanowen, next to a 7-Eleven. The several small businesses which share the very small parking lot are very territorial of their assigned parking spaces. If you park for longer than 20 minutes in a parking space reserved for a company at which you are not transacting business they will have you towed. This is especially true for people who are seen to go into the office being here reviewed. Unless you can get the ONE (1) parking space reserved for "patients" do not park there at all! SWIM* suggests parking at the Fresh and Easy lot which is on the South-East corner of the intersection instead. The office does not have any easily distinguishable signage which would help to identify that it is located next to the 7-Eleven. BUSINESS MODEL Cash and Dash Pot Prescription Service is about the best I can come up with. This is an example of an industry which exists entirely as a result of legislation, similar to the Smog Check industry. In both cases no consumer demand would exist for the services offered if it weren't for the State mandating their patronage. However, due in large part to the stigma attached to those who come into contact with such businesses (particularly with respect to reluctance to seek assistance from law enforcement) this industry operates as is it were in the old Wild West. Customer service is nearly non-existent and practices like Bait-and-Switch are pursued with zeal. THE EXPERIENCE SWIM arrived a little after 1pm seeking to renew a prescription which he had obtained from the same clinic a year earlier. From previous experience he knew that this company honors coupons from, or will match prices published by, their competitors. TIP: Find their ad in LA WEEKLY and bring it with you because the prices advertised are significantly lower (about $20 less) than what they charge a walk-in customer. Another TIP: Do NOT make an appointment, signs posted in the waiting room specifically state that they will not honor coupons or discounts for customers who have an appointment. As soon as the sign was seen, SWIM mysteriously forgot about his appointment. After a brief wait in line SWIM was given a packet of six or seven forms to fill out. Upon completion he returned the documents and handed over his previous prescription, CDL and an advertisement from a competitor offering renewals for $20. After about 1.5 hours SWIM was escorted into a small office. After asking a few questions the doctor showed SWIM into the back office area where he was left in the hands of the office staff. The office assistant stated that the amount due was $45 and immediately began to state the virtues of their "official ID Card". SWIM told her that he didn't want the ID Card and also pointed out that he had brought in an ad for $20. She assured him that the discount had been applied and said that the additional $20 was a prepayment for future follow-up office visits that the government had began requiring. SWIM stated that no such mandate was in place and asked to speak with the manager. A second clerk joined the discussion and said that their office had implemented a new policy which gave patients a choice of prepaying $20 for an additional three follow up visits (every three months) or paying "a lot more" later at the time of each follow up visit. Here's the SCAM part: if you pay the $20 then your "follow-up" visits are on paper only, but if you opt to pay later then they deactivate the validation of the prescription if you do not physically show up at the clinic every three months! SWIM protested, loudly, and was told that he was free to go elsewhere. Unfortunately, as much as he wanted to tell them where they could put their card, he had already invested 2 hours into his endeavor and was not willing to go elsewhere-so he paid the extra $20. It is sincerely hoped that YOU will take your business elsewhere thereby avenging the robbery experienced by SWIM. . After a complaint was filed with every website review place I could find, the owner contacted me and apologized, and offered me the MMJ card at the advertised price if I took down my negative review. PATIENTS BEWARE! - Warning: Don't get ripped off by these con artists. To all dispensaries, remove their business cards and if you really care about your patients, then please don't recommend this place. I first went here two years ago gave them my recommendation letter from another Doctor that was about to expire. The Doc called my name and I had the evaluation, they told me the price was going to be $65, but told them I just gave you my recommendation letter from the last time for my renewal. She just looked at me and didn't say anything to that, except the Doctor approved you for MMJ rec, and it will be $65 today and the next time it will be $35. - Even though it says "New Patients $40 and renewal from any Doctor $30" I was upset but didn't want to deal with and paid. Well a year came up and this is more disturbing than the first visit. I was happy that I was going to renew my rec from the same place and it should be no problems. I went back, gave them my rec for my renewal that was issued by them this time. Only when going to pay, they said: "the Doctor approved your rec letter and it will be $65." I said are you joking, I just handed you my rec letter from last year? "Yes and it will be $65." I was so mad; none of this makes any sense to me. They said I needed a sticker that was on the paper, which must have come off. The sticker says nothing to the fact that you need the sticker, I told her that and she said: "it doesn't, but you still need the sticker" So now my rec is not proof enough for the renewal, ridiculous! Other Doctors don't use this tactic to squeeze out more money from patients. On their card it says New Patients $40 and $30 for renewals - I'm even doing the renewal with the same doc. These people don't have any business logic at all. So my old rec that still was not expired was no good to get the renewal discount, but wait, I also had their advertisement card that specifically says the cost for renewal and by any Doctor even. I handed to her and what she said after that was mental. She took the card and said nothing, I said are you going to give me the renewal Discount or not, it says it right on the card. She then said: "I not supposed to do this" do what? She then said: "it will be $35 plus $5 for the Doctor.
