This company is a scam. I purchased a puppy from someone and they used this company supposedly to ship the dog to me. Well the morning of the delivery I go to track my delivery and was told I needed to rent a carrier for the animal to be transported. Cost $500. Said it would be refunded at time of delivery. Ten minutes later I was told that I needed to pay for a certificate of insurance. Cost $700 that would also be refunded upon delivery. They wanted the money sent through Zelle. When they sent the info it was not in the business name but a person's email. When asked why not the business info was told that it was one of their agents and then got rude and said just send the money. I refused. read more

I was given one quote and when they showed up I got a different price of $1000 more. I reached out to a contact that the mover had given me and when he got on the phone, he was rude combative and very unprofessional. I needed to be out of my house by that day, so I agreed to pay the additional fee.. Once they finally arrived in Pennsylvania, they sent one man to unload the truck which I could not believe so I ended up helping him unload boxes from the truck and a huge king size mattress that took 45 minutes to get up the stairs, it took us about four hours to unload when I called my contact Alexandra she never responded. I moved across the country and trusted this company with everything I own. In the initial phone call, Alexandra promised delivery within 3-5 days of pick-up. After that came and went, she then stated it was 3-5 days from pickup from the warehouse. It has now been well over a month, and I still have no idea where my belongings are or when they'll arrive. Every time I reach out, I get vague, evasive answers, if I get a response at all. I've been living in a new city with nothing but a suitcase, waiting on furniture, kitchen essentials, and sentimental items I may never see again. I had to move my parents on short notice to as assisted living facility in Ventura. I called Lyn on a Monday, because he came highly recommended by a friend, and that day he gave me an estimate over the phone. It was super reasonable, clear, and complete, with no hidden fees or last minute additions to the cost. Friday morning Gary and Michael showed up bright and early and had the move made within 2 1/2 hours . They thoroughly wrapped every single piece of furniture and were careful and cheerful and hard working and made the move incredibly smooth. Great movers! Communicated clearly through the process, friendly and on time and took good care of my belongings as if they were packing and loading their own things into the moving trailer. I'm tact, didn't have straps required for the ABF trailer they loaded for me and during their lunch break, they drove to Uhaul and bought them for me since I had no luck finding what I needed at the local hardware store. I reimbursed them of course but had they not gone out of their way to help me on loading day like that my things may not have made it in one piece and without any damage after the trek out of state to my new home as things shift in that huge moving trailer I'm transit. EDIT: in response to Lyn -- it doesn't matter whether they "intended" to harm anyone. Being negligent when you're operating dangerous machinery is inexcusable. I hope you wouldn't be defending them if they did cause an accident that killed somebody. We were simply lucky that that didn't happen to us. DO BETTER!! Not for their services but for their drivers. While merging into the 101 their driver intentionally sped up to pass us even though we were in a merging lane and they were in a full ass semi. I was on a time crushed with moving from Ventura to El Cajon since another moving company was not on their p's and q's and I was left to find someone else at the last minute. By some miracle Best Move had an availability and got me in. Both gentleman whom helped me was on time, got moving and packed up in under 3 hours for a 1/1 and storage pickup. My daughter needed to move from her LA apartment to another - We hired Best Move and then explained that some items needed to go to the new place, and some needed to go into storage. It was all very tight with a big truck, two stops, but they did a GREAT job and not a complaint out of them! Friendly as can be! So when we moved from our home in Newport Beach to Anaheim Hills we asked if Best Move could do the job even though we were in Orange County. They made an exception and drove down to move us. They were friendly, fast, careful, and to top it off, managed to get that huge truck up a very narrow, curvy road and turn around in a small cul-de-sac. Again, no complaints, couldn't have been more helpful. I've moved a lot and there was always "something" with the other moving companies, but not a single issue with Best Move. Did not have a great experience with this company. While the owner seemed nice, and 2/3 guys were nice when they showed up to help us move, the day was kind of a disaster. It took literally ALL DAY to move us from one small condo into another. Then, we happened to stop by the old house after they were gone, just to do a double check. Literally sooooo much stuff was left behind it was insane. Stuff we would have clearly wanted, and had previously told them to take. An antique clock, our vacuum cleaner, a computer, art we'd asked them to pack, among other things. When we tried to contact the owners after the move about some of our concerns, all of our calls were totally ignored. Overall, would not recommend. They took way longer moving a smaller house then our previous moving company did moving a much larger house, and we paid a lot more for lower quality service. Thumbs down. read more

I had a so-so experience with Best Move. I found them online and with Yelp so I decided to give them a shot on my move from Camarillo to Woodland Hills (~35 miles). My overall review is that Best Move provides a decent rate but shows signs of a small business with coordination and planning issues. I called about a month ahead of time and setup my move date for 8 AM on a Saturday morning. I called and verified a couple days before the move date and everything was confirmed. However, on Saturday, I got a call that the truck wouldn't start and my move would be delayed. I wound up waiting for 4 hrs till past noon while they tried to wrangle their mechanic to fix the truck. I got 2 update calls but overall, I wasn't very happy. I later learned that the mechanic had made repairs to the truck the prior day and had not reconnected everything properly. So then, the 2 guy team shows up and I see that they brought a massive truck trailer, what you normally use to pack a house, not my small 2 br apt worth of stuff. Overall, it just seems silly they sent such a big truck for me, especially since he caused delays when other people wanted to leave and the rig was in the way. To top it off, the truck was missing dollys and other rolling devices to help expediate the moving process. On a side note, they also did not have the TV packing equipment promised on the webpage. So, the process of moving my already packed boxes probably took an extra hour as the guys got tired from lifting all the equipment and bringing it into the inner part of the rig. In the end, my stuff took up about 30% of the trailer. I told the guys to stop off at their place and make sure to pick up their dollys and carts before heading onto my new apt. The unpacking process went fairly smoothly except as one would expect, the sun went down ~5 PM and everybody works slower at night. The movers had to use flashlights to see inside the massive rig and unpacking took about 3 hrs, this time with carts and dollys. Overall, the process was 4 hrs pack, 3 hrs unpack, and 1 hr driveback time. So, overall 8 hrs at $89/hr for what was probably a 5-6 hr job. Overall, the moving guys were fine and worked hard. But to a certain degree, I don't think I should own the lack of planning on the company's part. My major complaints in planning include: 1)correct truck for size of job 2)dollys, carts, and packing equipment to expediate the job 3)maintenance planning and being on time. I'll look elsewhere next time for my moving needs. read more

They moved our family from a two storey 4 bedroom house in Thousand Oaks where we had lived for 10 years, to a house of equal size in south Orange County. I got quotes from three different companies. Best Move was the lowest, but they also made the whole experience a lot easier on all of us in the way they proposed to organize the move. At their suggestion, they emptied our house and packed the entire truck on a Friday, and then arranged to meet us at the new house first thing Saturday morning to break up the physical labor into two days. That did not change the price, and it made it very manageable for their team and for us. Packing and unpacking an entire house in one day would be exhausting, and that's probably when things get broken, when everyone gets over-tired. Our friends who moved around the same time used Meathead as they liked the salesman and the sound of that service, but they said the student movers got tired and a little sloppy as the day went on. Our guys were big, burly and efficient. They did a good job and the final bill they gave me was about $150 less than their original quote to me. You can't beat that! Their price was also about a third of what Meathead had quoted me. I liked the Meathead sales-guy too, but not that much. And he did not plan to break up the move over two days. There was only one loss as one of the wheels to our bed seemed to be missing and could not be found. They apologized, suggested I pick one up at a bed store which should be inexpensive, and left me with a brick to support that part of the bed. The brick is still there! It's doing the job and I had forgotten about it until I sat down to write this. I found Best Move as a friend had referred me who had used them to move her family and her parents and both had a good experience. Best Move also has an excellent carpet cleaning service. I used them for that, too. Cream colored carpet on my stairs came up amazingly well. Never thought they could look like that again. read more

Very professional and pleasant. I moved my entire house and outdoor potted plants. They are really cheap. They got all our stuff there, several items were broken, and when I called them to get the insurance information the owner was very difficult. I was told basically too bad. I noticed some things were broken a few weeks after the fact. When questioned, they admitted they had dropped some things and noticed they were broken. We selected Best Move out of about 5 company's we had quote our move. They definitely had the best pricing scheme and we came in right at our original estimate. We went from 5,000 ft. in Thousand Oaks, to 3,000 ft. in Simi Valley, so we did the move over two days. I hired two men and a 24 ft. truck to move the home gym, house plants and a load of misc. boxes. Frank and Mario were absolutely top notch on this move, arriving on time, and working super hard, super safe and protecting the equipment and house at every turn. Could not have asked for a better crew and finished in 6 hours. The 2nd day we hired 5 men and the large truck to move all the furnishings. Paul lead a great crew of 4 guys who moved some very heavy and large furnishings. they completed the move out and move in right at 10 hours, an amazing job!! It had been 15 years since our last move and I was dreading the physical move more than anything, but Lyn and Gary made the whole process so simple, clean, fairly priced and it went super smooth. If I could give zero stars I would. We decided to go with Best Move because we wanted to support a local company. Big mistake. We sold our house very quickly and were moving into an apartment temporarily with only a few things while everything else was going to storage. We hired best move to move our things to our apartment. We had 2 beds, 3 TVs, 3 chairs, a cartable and chairs, 2 dressers, 2 TV stands, and boxes. They sent 3 guys to complete the move and said it would take them about 4 hours, 4.5 at the most. It actually took their guys SEVEN hours and that doesn't include anything being put back together or boxes being put in the correct rooms. It started with one of their guys charging their phone in our house as soon as they showed up. Another guy was constantly texting on his. The guy Tom who was in charge did nothing but stay in the truck barking orders.. which the other two clearly needed because it was as if they had never completed a move before. They had to constantly be told to go get things and bring them out. They were slow, lazy, and incredibly inefficient. They broke a bed frame, ruined a mattress, and lost items somehow along the way. When I called and spoke with Gary during the move to let him know it wasn't going well and the issues I was having, his only solution was to take an hour off the end time-- but he clearly didn't care. At the end of the move I noticed 2 things were missing. I told the guy in charge, Tom, that I wouldn't pay or sign his paper until they were found. He told me "they're your things why don't you look for them" and that "since you want them so bad why don't you go check the truck"-- this is how they interacted with me all day, completely unprofessionally and rude. I tried calling Gary and in a laughing tone Tom told me "He's not going to answer your call".. which he didn't. I left voicemails and still, 5 days later have still not heard back from Gary or Lynn. They clearly are not concerned with customer service or doing a good job-- they hire inefficient, unknowledgeable guys to complete their moves and collect their $$-- no matter the cost to the customer. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and am waiting to hear back regarding that. I would tell anyone considering Best Move to LOOK ELSEWHERE. We used Best Move in September of 2015. I would not recommend this moving company. We had several pieces of furniture damaged and the crew left the furniture improperly set up with missing screws. It was a completely amateur job that took all day and most of the night. These guys were not experienced movers. If you value your time and possessions do not go with this company. Left several messages and an email for owner and have not heard back. An absolutely horrific experience. I only leave this review so others do not have the experience we had. The day after the move, I noticed the piano had scratches and a book shelf had a dent in the front. A dresser's mirror was not set up right. So I complained to Gary, the other owner. Best Movers name was given to me by my new girlfriend "Siri" while driving! Called & spoke with Lyn for a few minutes and knew his people can do our move. It was local Thousand Oaks to Thousand Oaks, everyone's stuff is close to them & wanted it all handled properly . These people performed like they were a well oiled team that loved to work together! Set up to arrive at 8:30, they were early, came in introduced themselves, asked a few questions and started packing the Van with such high energy, they kept the high energy all thee way to the last piece came off the truck and put away.
