She was very professional, friendly and helpful at all times. She interfaced with the doctors and nurses an therapists easily. Very smart with excellent background in health information. She was a problem solver. Mary, my wife, was pretty much bedridden She used the hoyeur lift to transfer Mary to and from her wheel chair. She knew how to protect Mary from bedsores making foam pillows to fit the contours of Mary's body to help protect her. She got along very well with my our children while caring for Mary. Our entire family including nieces and nephews loved her. Very much fun to be with her. She is extremely honest and trustworthy. I have kept in touch with her since then. She took care of another lady a couple of years ago until she died. She is currently taking care of another lady now is close to death. Don't know how she does is it. She is the best. I should add that when she took the job to help Mary, I was also pretty much bedridden and on oxygen. Everything started off fairly well. A nurse(?) from Lifecare came to our house and showed us how to…read moreadminister IV antibiotics (3 times/day). Then for the next 5 weeks a different nurse came out first twice a week and then once a week to change the dressing and just check up on things. All went well until the course of antibiotics was finished. The nurse was supposed to come and remove the PICC line on Wednesday (February 22nd). First there was a miscommunication between Lifecare and the doctor. The doctor's office claimed Lifecare was supposed to contact them to get the order to remove the PICC line; Lifecare claimed that the doctor was supposed to contact them. In whatever case, the doctor's office contacted Lifecare on Wednesday afternoon to authorize the removal of the PICC line. But now, Lifecare is unable to find a nurse to remove the PICC line and they have stopped communicating with me at all. I have no idea if or when I can get the PICC line removed and in the meantime I am breaking out from the tape keeping the PICC line in place.
