My daughter was on team , we were initially looking at the USAG program and we made the decision to enroll into the TAAF program due to scheduling. They were very informative in helping us get settled into the gym as well understanding the difference in each team program and what to expect. The Coaches ( Princetta, Katie, Mary and Stephanie ) are amazing , no yelling , always being positive and encouraging to help build confidence in the gymnasts. It says a lot when other Coaches take the time to acknowledge and give corrections and offer support to a gymnast who is not necessarily under their own instruction and group on several occasions ( my daughter was spotted by Rick and Kadence on uneven bars ) . Anytime I have called or stood at the front desk Ms. Lori and Adrian were very helpful and welcoming . They were always eager to assist and make sure I had a good understanding when I had questions. They also would double check any payments or team fees when I had to update my records during meet season. They helped walk me through a blind access to my account and never passed any judgment for not being tech savvy. As far as the gym it is a very uniform and structured facility. If the gymnast are are on the uneven bars / balance beam they are able to see themselves on a tv screen to be able to see form and visualize the error / correction. A larger gym would be ideal somedays it may seam a little over crowded ( prior to COVID -19) . You have the ability to watch practice or drop off. As far as Beckie and Kurt they always made themselves accessible to any parents who had any questions or concerns . They gym has done a phenomenal job of insuring the gymnast safety. My daughter, D., was enrolled in the 6:00 p.m. "PRO" group class that evening. During practice, the students were working on round-off rebounds. While performing this skill, my daughter's feet slipped off the AirTrack, and she landed sideways near where Coach Victor M., the owner, was conducting a private lesson. At that point, Coach Victor stopped his private lesson, approached my daughter, and forcefully yanked her hair while attempting to demonstrate what she had done incorrectly. He did this in front of others, creating an unnecessary scene that left my daughter humiliated, frightened, and embarrassed. One would think that, as a middle school teacher at Delay Middle School in Lewisville, TX, Victor Muñoz would have more experience in handling children with patience and professionalism. Coach Victor runs the girls like cattle in a very confined space. Multiple classes, often 2-3 classes are held simultaneously while he also conducts private lessons. The gym simply isn't large enough to safely accommodate that many athletes at once. When space is limited and the business is stretched beyond capacity, mistakes are bound to happen, and students can easily land on the wrong equipment or in unsafe areas. My daughter is 11 years old and in 6th grade. She participates in middle school cheerleading purely for recreation. We are not pursuing competitive or collegiate-level training. We enrolled her at TumbleHQ simply to help her build confidence, coordination, and basic skills in a safe, encouraging environment. The owner's actions were inappropriate, unprofessional, and unacceptable, especially when directed toward a child. No parent expects their child to be treated in such a physical or demeaning way by a coach.
