Came in to buy the latest Apple Watch. I took one star off for standing around in front of the watches for about 10 minutes without anyone showing up to help. That happens every time I come here. Had to go to the front of the store to get someone. The other 4 stars are for Arturo, in Customer Service. He patiently set up the new watch for me, which was greatly appreciated. I wanted to use my current watch as a trade-in. He looked at it, and said I could get $90 towards the new watch. Since it was in pristine condition, he suggested that I sell it myself for more. I've been to this Beat Buy about a dozen times and have always found great products, selection and service. The best part of shopping at a chain like Best Buy is that they have the same products and quality here in a small town as they do in large cities. And I really appreciate that! We have bought items from Best Buy such as a smart watch, small appliances and tv & related products. I have always felt like I got a good deal. Best of all is the knowledgeable support. They actually know about the products and almost all (if not, all) have been friendly and didn't make me feel like a troglodyte because I didn't know how to work a smart tv. The best part is that he helped so much even though we were buying a small tv for the new trailer where we could only fit a small size. I wasn't spending a huge amount but you couldn't tell from the help. I am a Best Buy member which just means you sign up and use your phone number every time you buy something. You earn points and they give coupons, of sorts, that you can use when you buy something from Best Buy. To earn more points. I use the reviews online that customers do for the products they bought. Purchased a $800 Apple Watch and screen protector. Realized that I didn't need the screen protector and attempted to return it after 15 days but within 30. Unable to return for refund because it was after 15 days (out of town) but customer service rep stated after consideration she would give me a gift card since the package was unopened. Got a monitor for my son. They helped me with what I needed. Took a week to deliver, but we got it!

We went to Best Buy and purchased a dryer. The in-store staff were friendly enough. The issue we have is with the delivery of the dryer. The installation was a hot mess and I know more about installing a dryer than they did. The 2 delivery men carried in the dryer from the truck and sat it on the linoleum. They proceeded to push the dryer across the floor thus ripping the linoleum in 2 spots. I will never purchase another appliance from Best Buy again unless they get this linoleum issue fixed in a timely and satisfactory matter. Overall pretty good. Convenient location, lots of parking and very clean. It is not well laid inside (like components are nowhere near each other). Also it seems like the majority of employees are interested in selling phones and not in helping you with computer purchases. This review is from 2014, I took my car into the auto audio department to have a new set of Alpine speakers installed gave the guy a $20 tip and I was there first thing my only special request was be out of there in 90 minutes or less which he said no problem I was there over 4 hours he took two other cars before me I assume we're his friends I've been to 3 different Best Buy's over the past 10 years to have Auto stereos or speakers installed upgraded and they've all been sketchy management doesn't seem to have any control over their sketchy installation technicians and these Departments, I don't even think these are regular employees I think they're just per diem so to speak, Best Buy's becoming kind of irrelevant I'm sure Amazon will wipe them out in the next couple of years read more

I love the concept of best buy, but unfortunately the only one I ever go to is in Mission Valley and it sucks: it's crowded, parking is a bummer, and the staff is too busy to actually help you. On the other hand, the new Best Buy in El Centro is practically deserted, the staff is helpful, and they have a large supply of mexican speciality cd's. BOOOOO! This place and their employees were the absolute WORST. I've been a semi-devout BB customer for years, but this store was terrible. None of the guys (why only men and no women?) working there wanted to help and when I asked if they had a certain DVD boxset in stock (pretty normal request, right?) one of the d-bags said "Yes, we have 'em all except season 1". When I looked, however, and asked another employee working there I learned they had NONE in stock of any season. To make it even more awesome, I told the guy to forget it- I live in SD and will check some of the stores there. His response: "Oh, right on. You live in SD? I've experienced overall good customer service here. There are staff that are extremely helpful and are willing to go the extra mile for you. Sometimes its a "hit" or "miss" with staff available to assist you. They do have very knowledgeable staff available to answer any type of questions. Honestly I think almost all Best Buys are the same. As they should be. This one is no exception. It is not excessively large or small. Just normal size Best Buy. Well equipped with all the drool worthy electronics you could want. Spent my time in the tablets dept. playing with the new ipad and the ipad 2. Nice they let you compare the two side by side. Also visited the phones dept. to take a look at the iphone 5. They don't have these out on display as it seems people walk away with them. The employee that helped us was knowledgeable and friendly. What has happened to El Centro tech support, you make an appointment and have to wait 15 minutes after the scheduled time??? I think not. Do not visit this el centro store, go to san Diego or Yuma instead, a person came by and told me to be patient?? BestBuy has been a great store so far I can usually find what I am looking for in store, usually by checking the website to see if the items are in stock at the local El Centro store. Customer service can be hit and miss the staff usually asks me if I need help with anything while walking the store and help point me in the right direction. Be sure to be a rewards member every dollar you spend adds up to points that you can redeem for store cash coupons which really helps and adds up on the bigger purchases. The Geek Squad warranty is also a really good investment on some purchases even though it can be very pricey. read more

Blew my mind!!! So I have an older work laptop that I inherited that started acting funny, shutting down, overheating. It was obvious that my hardware was going out. So we did an O/S install to recover my laptop, this was a week ago. Sadly that only seemed to be a very temporary fix, because of the hardware and I've been into the store 3+ times for them to redo the install so I can try to go in and recover my data. Here's where things get awesome. I bring it in again and big surprise the hardware is acting up making the job impossible. But, instead of charging me the $100 to do the back-up for me, they're doing it for free out of sympathy for how many visits it's taking to resolve my issue. They could've shrugged and said, "you're problem, not mine". And they'd be totally right! But they did me a huge favor in the name of good customer service. That's what earns 5 stars.... read more

Where should i Start! I love Best Buy in El Cajon. I recently moved to El Centro due to a business job i took in the Imperial County. She then directed me to the right department where I found a very helpful associate the took me to the display and made recommendations and options. When I checked out I dropped one of my credit cards. When it was found the clerk that waited on me took the time to look up my info. And called to let me know. I didn't bother to follow through because by then I had resolved the issue and didn't feel like pursuing any further. I go there from time to time, and I've never been greeted during any of my visits. The employees are apathetic and hardly speak English. When I purchased a laptop, I was offered a store credit card. I decided it would be good to build my credit and went for it to make my laptop purchase. I wasn't told that after 2 years that I would have my account dinged if I still had a balance on the purchase. I had $40 on my card, and it was dinged to $180. In October 2016 I purchased a refrigerator from Best Buy with a three-year warranty from GeekSquad. Been waiting for the refrigerator to get fixed. When I called to find out what's taking so long I was put on hold. I. call the national GeekSquad number and I was hung up on after asking for the reps name. And then they try to tell me that it was not GeekSquads problem, but whirlpool because it was still under warranty with whirlpool. What good is a GeekSquad warranty if they don't even honor it and have such lousy customer service. It was like pulling teeth for them to do anything. read more

Worst customer service ever! I was in this store for about 30 minutes and not a single person spoke to me until I forced them to. I went in looking for a specific cable to connect my laptop to an external monitor. I had already found a few examples online. I go over to the general area where they are supposed to be. I cannot find the one I'm looking for. Literally 4 employees were about 10 feet from me just talking and laughing up a storm while i look through the whole isle comparing what they have to what I had found on my phone. Not a single one of them took 5 seconds to ask if I needed help. I finally went up to the group and asked if someone could help me. I was responded to rudely, as if I have inconvenienced them by breaking up their conversation. I showed the girl what I was looking for and she just says "Oh yeah, we don't have that" and then just kinda stares at me. She didn't offer to help or suggest any other products or anything. I looked high and low for the phone I wanted as upgrade in my at&t plan walmart/at&t store did not want to help, bestbuy saved me. Since they do not work on commission They do their best to help the customer instead of screw them with some crappy expensive phone or new expensive contract. They helped me activate it and when I had a problem they gladly took it back and exchanged it for a brand new one, no problems since.I had to scale back one star because they scaled back their anime section a few months ago. read more
