There was just nothing that really caught my eye and that would set this store apart from millions of other crafty/homewares sorts of shops. Can't say anything about the service because the lady was so engrossed in whatever she was doing that my presence in the store wasn't even acknowledged. Some of the home-ware items are actually alright but not anything that you would go out of your way to come to this mall solely for. It's one of those places that stocks all its nicest stuff in the window to lure you in, and once you are in, you have to wonder, "Is this it?"

The staff have consistently been friendly and helpful when I have been in and always ready to assist if need be, however there may be a slight line up, they do good trade. The prices are reasonable to high end, depending on what you are after. Plus this isn't a 'plastic' shop, (find that next door, literally), the items are quality. Relative to some of the more upper class suburbs in Auckland, the prices are fine. It is easy to find if you are coming in the New Lynn Mall entrance facing Great North Road, they have the prime street window display.

I like that this store is here in the village, as it is perfect for buying gifts for family friends and especially for visiting tourists. What I don't like is that it is a bit on the expensive side, which I think is a little unnecessary.

There are plenty of lighters, ash trays and smoking "accessories", even including a small selection of corncob pipes (though you can't get the pipe tobacco there). Now and Then also has some tacky but great macabre gifts, like skeletal ashtrays and skull statuettes. Incense pipes and paraphernalia, this is what we use to have instead of places like the brightly lit Cosmic Corner. This friendly store comes complete with Bob Marley T-shirts and ceramic dragons.

The young man is a bit sheepish, because his "dad bought the shop", he explains, there is seven of them ("THE best...", they obviously have a sense of humour too). The young man tries to be helpful by rummaging around to give me a business card and explaining that the chain has been around for 20 years; his efforts deserve more than two stars, but sorry souvenir shop you are not "The Best" that I have seen.

Their outdoor display is really eye-catching and screams out vibrant colours whether it is cushions, beach bags or furniture.
