The majority of clothes on stock are made for the larger sized male. The price is not reflective of the quality of ugly baroque patterned shirts and white suit combinations. The staff sat clearly in sight, smacking their lips during a lunchtime meal and ungraciously ignoring me. So I couldn't think of a good reason why you would want to go out of your way to visit this rather poorly organized store. Stick to the more mundane mall stores where at least you are guaranteed service.

The first time I was looking for the post office, which is theoretically on Great North Road but in reality isn't, and the kind chap who is the proprietor here gave me very good directions. I've also been in here with someone who did want to buy men's clothes, and again, the owner was very gracious and helpful. This is the sort of clothes shop where everything is good quality; most of it isn't absolutely cutting-edge fashion, but if you dressed exclusively from here, you'd be bound to be classically well turned out all the time. They can also tailor clothes here as well, and I'd bet that they do a good job at that too. I wish there were woman's clothes shops that were more like this place.

Now that I know they actually have their own store,and things are actually cheaper than where you would buy them originally I am hooked. It helps that they had a babe'n sales assistant on the day when I went in there, all dark hair and tatts and well dressed and oh my god did I tell you I love this store! He was actually very helpful. This isn't your typical outlet store, they actually have stuff that is being sold at other places at the same time, its not end of lines or just stuff that no one bought. It's cheap AND its not last seasons. As well as great clothes, they also do amazing shoes too. Sales assistant guy: call me!

The staff are really helpful and being in such a good location, the shop is really handy for all those wardrobe emergencies. My biggest recommendation is that you go there before you go anywhere else because there's nothing worse than buying something only to see it way cheaper later on! Wow I thought, here's my chance to ask them about the quality and more importantly the sizing issue so that I could make a judgement call then purchase. Well... I was ghosted. No response to my email, or my follow up email due to no reply. Weeks pass and I decide to risk it. I shouldn't have. The shirts I purchased are way too big, as is the knitted jumper. Then the trousers I purchased were way too small! Clearly I start the return process, only for the label the fail to generate. So here I am again having to wait for a reply. Hopefully I'm not ghosted this time! Quality of the items is beautiful and priced accordingly. Shame about the sizing issue and appalling customer service. Well it's not even appalling as it is non existent.

I used to walk past here everyday on my way to work and was always very impressed by the outfits they had on the mannequins. If this styling was anything to go by then I needed to go visit the people that worked here. I was not disappointed. The place is really cool and is full of really unique and quality stuff. The service is really great. I think as a whole, New Zealand retail service and hospitality service actually, is pretty average. But the people I have encountered here are true fashion lovers and seem like they really do like their jobs. There are plenty of simple staple items from brand like Neuw (obviously) and numerous other Kiwi and international ones. Even if you're just having a browse, it's a nice experience. And get inspired by the mannequins!

This store is strangely not normal, despite what the name indicates…read more Walking into Strangely Normal is like glimpsing into the wardrobe of Hunter.S.Thompson from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas fame. Eccentric, retro, psychedelic, you name it. Floral or paisley business shirts that make you stand out from the normal, quirky cuff links that make you wanna laugh, funky hats, imagery t shirts that you won't find on Queen Street. The men's footwear in this store also rocks the casbah! Holy cow! Its crazy cool! As any guy with confidence I'm sure you could pull off looking like Mr it in these glorious original pieces. The accessories are cool and retro, and the short sleeved men's shirts are amazingly original with unique imagery, my two favourites are the Island Life and the Tattoo short sleeved collared shirts. The prices are not cheap at Strangely Normal, they have since 1977 paved a name in men's fashion and put New Zealand on the map internationally so they deserve much praise and award which they funnily enough have received.
