The dental hygienists are great (I see Kelly and Carrie). The office is friendly, usually on time, and they are diligent in trying to keep your costs to a minimum if you do not have insurance. There is a new receptionist there and she is very nice as well. The only thing that they do not have, that the Dentist had that I went to in Whiterock, is a TV on the ceiling. I do miss that, but they do have postcards up there that you can look at. I would not hesitate to recommend this office and these dentists.

Most painless dentist I have ever encountered. I saw the other review & wonder if they were shown any x-rays of their cavities, because they have the best x-ray equipment around and everything is very clearly explained to me. I had another dentist tell me all my fillings had to be replaced, but Dr Parker doesn't do work that doesn't NEED to be done. He's the best! Elizabeth is my hygienist & she is a really nice lady, very supportive in helping me get my gums healthy. Very professional and very clear with explanations. When I went back to get my teeth cleaned the hygienist came and got me 10 mins late and took her time cleaning my teeth and was even sharping her tools for 5 mins and after my hour appointment she advised me that she could only do the upper of cleaning my teeth she wanted me to come back to do the bottoms. I was very upset and when I asked the receptionist if this is going to cost me more money. The receptionist advised me I have used my allotment for this year so "yes". They wanted me to book another appointment and I refused. The receptionist advised me if I didn't do it then I could be waiting a while before next spot is availible. I advised her I probably would not be coming back. About an hour after I left I received a call from Dr Louie and he wanted to know what happened. I told him and he apologized and said he would look after it. I thanked him but I could not get up the nerve to go back to the hygienist.

The worst place you could possibly go in Victoria. After a disastrous experience, my 88-year-old…read moremother who can't travel was told by rude and incompetent Dr. Andrews that she should go back to Mexico he can't help her anymore! True story. A year later after asking to be referred to a different dentist at this "group" we were told sorry we can't help your mother who has broken a tooth and needs urgent assistance. FYI, the written estimate was only $300 to tighten my mother's loose bridge, and I warned her it would only become worse, take a year of visits, and cost thousands to start over with new implants. But the dentist said it's simple to tighten the screw, she said, and it won't cost much at all. After breaking the bridge, she was left with nothing to eat with for months, had to go to a specialist downtown, and $15,000, and one inconvenient, painful year later, she had new implants and a bridge that wasn't loose. Don't even think about using this place unless you're prepared to hire a lawyer afterward to get compensation for expenses due to deceptive marketing and malpractice.

The 1st problem was that they charged me $200 for 'sedation'. That's $200 for writing a prescription for Ativan and sticking a heart monitor on my thumb. I was not impressed. I was also on the mainland for a couple of months and wanted to pay by debit, so they had to wait for their $228. Upon my return, I settled up and apologized for the delay. After that I was informed by office staff that it was MY job to contact Canada Life to determine my coverage for each and every procedure. Of course they didn't give me an itemized list of the work, so I'm not sure how they expected me to do that. Nevertheless, if I didn't have a response from Canada Life by the time of the appointment (4 days away), I would need to give them a deposit of $650. At that point I pulled the plug. It was clear that they didn't want my business. When I called around to other dental clinics, they expressed surprise. Despite what Vic West claims, charging $200 for writing a prescription is NOT common practice and many dentists do it for free. On top of that, they ALL (including Vic West) have EFT systems directly linked to all the major insurance companies, so there's no need for the client to worry about getting estimates themselves. My new practice was able to connect with Canada Life while we were on the phone and tell me exactly what was covered. I think the office staff simply wanted to be rid of me. It worked and I can't thank them enough. I'm now with a great dentist who doesn't overcharge and the staff are more interested in providing service than playing stupid games.
