To further outrage the truck was misfiring loudly and constant. Robert explaination was that he hadn't drove it around much because it needed gas! I guess he couldn't put $20 in to check out how it was driving. None the less you could hear it wasn't running soundly. His explanation...probably water in the exhaust to drive a bit and it should stop. No! Not only did it continue for the 20 miles I drove it but it also was shaking. I turn around to take it back during business hours and he has closed the shop. Guessing it was to run to the bank to cash my check for a job that wasn't complete I put a stop pymt on the check. The weekend was so busy I was on hold with USAA for almost 15 min when a state trooper pulled up to see if we needed help. He called Schrader's and they said they would be on their way, so I dropped my roadside call to wait. Schrader's arrived after about 30 minutes and the tech went out of his way to make sure the kids were doing well and comfortable. Our best plan at the time was to tow to Wal-Mart and have my sister pick up my wife and kids and bring them the rest of the way to their place; I would spend the night in a local hotel to walk over to Wal-Mart and get it fixed first thing the next morning. However, the driver said they would have a tire available so we took it to their shop and they did have a tire. They popped off the tire and found that whatever I had hit had not only punctured the tire, it had blown a 1/2" hole in the wheel. Just when I was starting to accept our independence day weekend was blown, they realize they have a Nissan Rogue in their junkyard and go and get me a new wheel. So after about a 3 hour total delay, we are back on the road. Again: 8:30 pm Saturday July 3, these guys hook me up with a tow, a tire and a wheel, for a grand total of.... $150. I was expecting closer to $500 and to be honest, I would not have complained at all. Schrader's came through with help when we were really in a tough position. I cannot recommend them enough.
