I'm surprised that I'm the first person to review this lovely little park. Maybe I shouldn't be surprised since I was the only one out here today.
The park was is just outside Lynden. There are picnic areas and a playground. The true draw to me was a nature trail designed for children but enjoyable for anyone. I picked up a trail guide from a box at the start. The trail was well-marked if still a little muddy after all our winter snow. The trail map and marker plaques were evidently the work of several Eagle Scout projects. All were informative and helpful in identifying trees and providing info about the forest habitat.
There is a main road nearby so you do get some traffic noise in one section but it is quiet for the most part. I saw lots of squirrels and heard lots of birds.
Dogs on leash are welcome. I saw at least one poop station so there is no excuse not to pick up after your pup.
Hopefully, more people will come and bring their children to enjoy this park. read more
