From suits and jackets, to jeans and shorts, this is the place to shop for all seasons. I highly recommend this store. Albert provides excellent personal service, and remembers your likes and dislikes. He offers a wide variety of matching items from his incredible selection to help me understand what to wear with each item purchased. The reason the last reviews were over 18 months ago is because this business isn't worth the the attention. I just purchased a suit, tie and "luxurious fancy texture dress shirt" for $1223.00. The pompous, entitled owner had promised the order would be ready for pick-up, pressed an all, the following Saturday after it was originally due for pick-up because "he was in the process of moving". We had driven out to LI from Brooklyn to pick up his suit, as promised. Not one of the negligent "sales people" had the audacity to call us and tell us the store was in the process of "moving itself" and the suit was not ready. Since there was a festival in place, my husband, toddler, newborn and I decided to make the best of it. We all shook hands the suit would be ready, shirt pressed and all the following Sunday, when we could next trek out to LI, one week before our Christening. I confirmed, by phone, with Albert on Friday the suit and shirt were ready for a Sunday pick-up, We arrived on Sunday to have Albert not present and his two "sales people" apologize to us for not having the $165 dress shirt NOT PRESSED and have them take the shirt out of its wrapping as we stood there. His two sales people said everything from "I am going to have my mother who lives two blocks away press it" to "go to lunch and I will go to Ace and buy an iron to press it" to "do you need $5 to have it pressed" to "it's my fault I was supposed to bring in my iron from home". So after a two hour lunch, we picked up the suit. The salesperson had the NERVE the lie right to my face and say 'it's all taken care of, my mother pressed it". It wasn't until we got home (Brooklyn) that we realized the shirt was not pressed. The salesperson then asked for $20-$35 for a handkerchief that was supposed to have been 'given' to us for the hassles. The salesperson said if we don't pay it, Albert said it was coming out of his paycheck. The handkerchief was not part of the order, therefore, it didn't even match. If someone 'gives' you something, do you give it back because they changed their mind? After a conversation with Albert the following day, I concluded I would never shop in this chauvinist's store ever again. He said pressing shirts, no matter what the cost, is a "courtesy". So if you spend close to $200 on a dress shirt, don't expect it to leave his boutique pressed. For the amount of money spent, and the circus we witnessed and the miles traveled, a purchase here will make you feel robbed. The customer service at Bloomingdale's far surpasses the unprofessional and undermining at this shop. a purchase over $1200 warrants courtesy and professionalism, along with quality. Save yourself and stay away. read more

Albert, the owner/salesperson has an exceptional eye for fashion as well as knowing what really works for you. His selection of clothing and prices are on par with other upscale men's stores but the difference is Albert and his personal attention. The only knock would be for any RVC store, the parking. read more

Albert and staff are fully engaged in the process of choosing, tailoring, and insuring that the correct suit is the one you walk out with. As per the other reviews, parking in RVC is always a challenge but for Bertalia, well worth any difficulty. read more
