This is a first. Small and cozy airport. One carousel and one gate airport. Impossible to get lot here at least. The baggage was out in less than 10 minutes, since his such a small airport and small plane too.

This is a simple airport. Boarding, arrival, waiting area, baggage claim, rental cars, cafe, check in and security are all within steps of each other. No TSA pre-check though. If you have it, you can keep your shoes on, but you still need to wait in the same, relatively quick-moving line. There's nothing to do at the gate once you get through security. Get your drinks, use the restroom, bring your food through security, or do without. On the bright side, the waiting area for your non-traveling friends is separated from the gate by a glass wall, so it's easy to make faces and hand gestures to each other through the glass -- at least that is if they're not warming themselves by the fireplace on a cold day and ignoring you. Small airport, friendly people -- even the TSA (shockingly so), nice view of the mountains. There are very, very limited flight options from this airport, so if you miss your flight, you may end up waiting until the next day. Maybe that's not a bad thing, though -- there's more time to enjoy the mountain views.

Small airport at the end of town but it's easy to get into and easy to get out of. It's in a very scenic setting below the mountains Great customer service

I honestly have never had a better airport experience than here. Parking is free, security check is a breeze, and customer service is top-notch. The employee who checked my bag was friendly and made it simple, and the employee at the gate went above and beyond for me. I travel with a lot of camera gear, so I usually ask to make sure I can get my carry-on actually in the cabin with me, because I've had items broken when I've had to check. She switched me to another row so I'd have it all to myself, and the extra space would ensure my bag could stay with me. I get that at smaller airports, you can have more delays and issues with there being fewer planes and room for flexibility, but that wasn't an issue for me today. So as far as I'm concerned, this was better than a 5-star experience! Update: So my flight actually was delayed by about 2 hours, but it wasn't anything the airport staff could have prevented. So I still stand by my review!

I decided to just rate my experience here and I must say it was a good one. In all honesty, I've never heard of the place until today. I have lived in Montana for 14 years now but for some reason or another, this place never crossed my radar. While taking a road trip to explore Butte today, my husband insisted we stop here. After a quick Google search on my phone, I saw we were only about a mile away but had less than 20 minutes before it closed (4pm on a Sunday). The younger man at the desk inside was very helpful and told us we didn't need to rush and could take our time. It was $10 for my husband, myself, and our two kids to enter. After paying, you walk through a short tunnel to the viewing area. Unfortunately the wind was insane today so we did end up rushing, but it was still a very unique experience and I am glad we decided to go. The color of the water is deceiving. You wouldn't guess it is full of toxic chemicals. The Berkeley Pit used to be an open pit copper mine. It has a depth of over 1,600 feet and is filled with over 900 feet of water. It is said to have the acidity of Coca Cola or lemon juice. The pit is filled with a combination of various chemicals, which help give it that greenish-blue color. It was interesting to stand there and imagine how it looked years ago. My kids really enjoyed reading about the history of the pit. We do plan on making another trip back there when the weather is better so we can fully fake advantage of that piece of Butte's history. I would definitely recommend!

If we wouldn't have called, we would never have gotten anyone to pick us up. They gave us an excuse that the driver never showed up. They never picked up the 16 people at the original residence causing everyone to drive to the bar and leave vehicles in parking lots over night. We made it to dinner while the driver texted the whole time on icy interstate roads and then were told another vehicle would pick us up. We were picked up and taken on a loop down Main Street as advertising and then back to the original residence. We were then told they weren't coming back to give rides home. So 16 people stuck at the residence without vehicles and have been drinking. Did convince them to come back and when we called to pick up at the original number, the man was annoyed and kept saying call your driver. We didn't have the driver's number. So after 3 phone calls and a text the man finally gave us the driver's number. He showed up 30 minutes later and said this was the only pick up he was making and he wouldn't be back. The absolute worst communication from a "business" we have received in a long time. Some shallow apologies made at the beginning about being late but never a gesture of discount or anything to make up for their mistake. In a customer service based industry, this should have been done. I will never use again or recommend to anyone I know.
