When it comes to hair I'm not real picky . The ladies do a great job and get it just the way I want. Price is fair and they're fast.

The best barber. The two ladies are charming and now they have a new fellow barber. I always enjoy going here. Richard Barker read more

Great ladies!!!! Best place in town to get a flat top!!!! Nice classic barbershop feel!!!!

We normally go to the groom room but they didn't have any opening so we came to Berry's Barber Shop. They were happy to have us the same day and were super friendly to my husband, me and our three kids. All of the boys got haircuts and everyone was very happy with their hair. They were also so fast! read more

Probably the best old time barber shop I've been to. They know how to cut for military. If you want to pamper yourself like I did today while on leave, get a cut and shave from Mary Jane. She uses a straight razor, hot lather and a hot towel. All of the people there and very welcoming and made feel great for what I do. They do offer a military discount and again, are very supportive of our troops. read more

My friend and I, both students in Redding, were looking for a great haircut at a reasonable price and found Berry's on Yelp. After walking in we both had a little hesitation about whether we'd be able to get the hipster-styled haircuts we'd been looking for. Because Berry and his crew have all been cutting hair for so long I figured that no haircut could be outside of their expertise. I was fortunate enough to have Berry himself cut my hair, and after explaining the kind of haircut I was looking for, he got right to it. The cut was complete with a shave around the ears and neck all for $13.00. Update - A few days after the haircut, I'm less than satisfied with the haircut. I don't think Berry is used to a "hipster" style haircut and it shows in the fade. The fade was very long whereas I'd prefer a shorter fade closer to my part. He gives a smooth cut, but not my style. read more

Terrible place! Every haircut my husband got here was just wrong. He's finally taking his business elsewhere, and he looks much better now. And this place has never been mask-compliant, even upon request. I'm happy the husband has finally had his fill of this place. read more

It seems to me like this is a barber that specializes in haircuts, not traditional shaves. I was looking to get a nice shave with a straight blade and brush/soap. I also wanted to pick their brains a bit regarding quality soaps and brushes. I was told to go look on eBay for brushes and soaps, but they didn't know the names of any quality goods (and there were three barbers present). As for the shave, they started out strong with some pre-shave and a hot towel, but then they used an automatic shaving cream dispenser and no brush. They also started with a straight blade, but finished with a lady schick or some other pink disposable razor. I couldn't believe it. They charged me $16.00 for the shave! I could have bought a new pack of razors and shaved for at least a month at that price. To top it all of, they were nearly an inch off from one side to the other. I didn't notice while I was there because my hair is very short, but it became quite apparent upon returning home and getting a closer look in the mirror. Maybe they are good for haircuts, but I'd keep my distance if you want a real shave. read more

This is THE worst place to get a hair cut. Don't know the barbers name his chair was the middle one. Took my 14 yr old grandson in for a TRIM just clean it up a little. He's going to be in a wedding Saturday we're my exact words!!! He buzzed the back and the front won't even go to the side. This barber should not be cutting hair. My grandson was devastated. I feel horrible for taking him there. You know how mean kids can be and they were. All I could say was thank God you have a good looking face you can pull this off!!! read more

Great atmosphere, good haircut, although it was WAY too short.... Next time I go in I'll be more clear on exactly what I want. Good job, nice people. read more

Having lived in Redding for almost 40 years, needless to say I've gone through a number of barbers. i feel I get a haircut that I can count on, each month. I've been a regular, for over 15 years. read more

Real barbers including the shave over the ears around the ends. Cheap. $12. Plenty of barbers. Will go again.

No wait, and the guy who cut my hair was awesome. Will come here every time I'm in Redding, in need of a cut. Warm shaving cream and the straight razor sealed the deal read more

Stopped in here on a break from work and got a great hair cut in no time at all. Will definitely go back.

Nice old fashion barber shop. Great service and a good price. The collection of straight razors on the wall was an added bonus.

Best barber shop in town. Mary Jane is the best barber I have ever had, and does things just the way they should be. None of this "hair stylist" nonsense. Just an old fashion barber cut. I won't go anywhere else. read more

Best barber shop in the north state..... I am really picky about my hair cuts and searched around when I moved up here and came across Berry's Barber Shop. They take their time and finish you off with a straight razor and hot shaving cream. If you want it done right, go to Berry's, you will not be disappointed! read more

Real barber knows how to use a straight razor. In the top 3 best flat tops I have received.

As the daughter of a barber who cuts hair here, I can tell u that this is five star, if you're lookin' for the cliche' manly-man barber shop experience! Barry, Bob, and the others (including a couple of gals) have all been cutting hair since the dawning of time, and will have you looking your best for a relatively low price. The barbers here have cut everyone's hair over the course of the last 40 years , and know a lot about what's going on in the community. For that reason, the conversation is stimulating, and the practical jokes these guys are ready to play on chosen customers will have you laughing out loud. There are plenty of magazines, always a local record searchlight (wretched flashlight), and at Christmas time Barry and Bob host a great holiday party, (where my mom is likely to bring in hot buttered rum and cookies). Stay on your toes, lest you be the victim of the "fart machine" or the "fishing pole spider" read more

My brother and I visited the shop on Dec 5, Friday for the first time. We got there just after the opening at 8am. The folks there greeted us like old friends. We both got haircuts (awesome). And then we got a really great shave from Mary Jane...totally awesome experience. We will be regulars!! read more

Got a beard trim and haircut. Not a good beard trim at all, long hairs left and my mustache still looks like it wasn't trimmed. Meanwhile one of the men who works at Berry's was arguing with a lady who also works there. I get it, arguments happen, but the older gentleman, probably the owner, was just flat out disrespectful to the lady. Should have pulled her aside in private for a rebuke, or correction. It kept going back and forth. My barber even apologized for it. I will say my haircut was dang good, so two stars. For my beard trim next time, I'll be going back to Cascade, who ironically didn't do as good as haircut as the lady who cut my hair at Berry's. I know this won't be the last time I visit Berry's, so hopefully, I'll get another Barber who is actually good at trimming beards. The price was also too high for my taste $24, of which I only had $21 cash because that is how much Cascade costs, but it wasn't open until 9am. I hope they get a credit card machine as it would have saved me a trip to the dollar store who charged me $1 total for cash back purchase, so over all I spent $25, for a good haircut and a sloppy beard-trim. read more

Just left, cleaned up and looking as good as I can for the weekend. Thanks Mary Jane!

We love this place(!) & will keep going back...We finally got tired of the bewildered or blank faces of every hairdresser we encountered whenever we'd walk into a "Family Salon" & ask if they could do an "old school" style Flat-top haircut. My son was bummed & definitely not getting the experience or cut he was looking for at a "salon" ("too girlie" he'd tell me -lol). Then we found Berry's! These guys are just the "old school" style Barber Shop we've been looking for! & When I say "old school", I mean in the best possible way (reasonable prices, little to no-wait as a walk-in & they definitely know how to use clippers ...excellent clean cut around the ears & neck too) My son finally got the Flat-top he was looking for (no problem!) & made me promise never to take him to one of those "girlie" salons again. read more

I slept on this review and here is my honest assessment. As a veteran retuning home after 13 years of military service, I wanted to patronize a local, established barber shop instead of a corporate franchise so I chose Berrys because of their online rating. Unfortunately I received a haircut that I had to get fixed immediately at a different barber shop, reluctantly. I called Berry to let him know I was dissatisfied with the hair cut, and wanted to see if I can get my money back for the poor haircut I received. I was told that Berry was not there and was informed to call back in an hour. When I called back I did not get a chance to speak with Berry. Rather I was told that "the shop" decided that my haircut was "good" and I wouldn't recover my money. They laughed at me when I said that I would write this review. During the phone conversation, the man on the phone asked me to go down to the shop to try and settle the issue which I felt was confrontational due to his tone of voice and attitude. I felt disrespected. The barber failed to listen to my request as to what I had wanted, took a phone call in the middle of the haircut and walked away, and seemed annoyed when I asked her to fix certain spots she had missed. Berrys barber shop in my assessment is unprofessional, rude and expressed no concern for customer satisfaction, avoid these guys. read more
