Not going back! I am so sorry to say I will not be returning to Golden Glo. The baristas now ask…read moreVERBALLY if the customer would like to leave a tip! A tip is based on customer service and a well made product. I leave tips, but I should not feel obligated to tip and the tip amount is up to me - if I choose to put cash in the tip jar or write it on the receipt. To verbally ask almost equates to asking FOR a tip. No way. Also, the amount of ice in the coffees at Golden Glo is ridiculous. I asked for an Americano and received so much ice I did not get much product. Adding water is not an "upcharge". You can do better, Golden Glo. By the way, talked with someone else today who was surprised by the requested tip that they are not going back either.

While the employees are friendly - I have an issue with how the baristas are handling "tipping"…read morewhen using a card. What is my issue? Everytime I'muh handed the ipad to sign for my charges the box around a tip of the baristas choice is pushed and initiated - "hey maybe that's automatic" - nooooo it's not .... and lets play that game .... why would the tip amount highlighted be different between trips? Once it was 15% - another time or two it was 10% and one day it was 20%. Yes, I attempted to reach out to the business - no return email - no return text - no return call - NADA ... so, sadly I feel I need to warn others about this practice. I tip with cash (sometimes via the card) - and I typically tip waymore than what they are trying to sneak past their customers. Sorry to have to put this on yelp - but I really did try to inform the owner .... silence is deemed acceptance ... You've been informed - don't believe me ... go order a drink and pay via card and you will see for yourself.

On my last visit, I ordered a latte and a bagel, toasted with cream. The lovely barista said "the food is going to be about 35 minutes." Me: 35 minutes???? There were six customers in the shop, if you count the impatient door dash driver next to me at the delivery pickup counter. Sad face. Door Dash estimated delivery to my house was 35 minutes when I checked while waiting for my latte (skipped the bagel). No priority for folks that like to walk down, plop down, and enjoy a coffee and bite. Sign of the times, I guess.

It was 6:45 p.m., 15 minutes before closing, and I asked about the coffee special. The employee told me she had already cleaned the coffee machines. I said, "But you're open until 7." Her response was that her shift ended at 7. I probably should have just left, but instead I ordered a non-coffee drink. I really hope this isn't becoming a trend at this location. Earlier this year, a carload of ladies stopped by for drinks during our day of shopping. The window was open, but there was a ladder just inside, and we waited quite a while. No one acknowledged us, said "Just a minute," or even made an effort to let us know someone would be with us shortly. We could see employees helping other customers, while a child at the window seemed to be looking at us and making faces. Eventually, we gave up and took our business somewhere else. If you are advertising that you are open until 7 p.m., customers should reasonably expect to be able to order what you serve until closing--or there should be a clear notice that certain items are no longer available. More importantly, please acknowledge your customers. Even if you are busy, a simple "We'll be right with you" goes a long way. I enjoy supporting local businesses, but experiences like these make me want to take my business somewhere I feel appreciated.
