    So far, very unhappy, all you do is get their answering machine. All the time, they do not get back…read moreto you in a proper manner. And always say that they are too busy. Supposed to have a job done on Monday? We'll see if they even show up since it is a holiday. Accepted, the estimate price was fair. But return calls are very tough to get from them. There was always an excuse that there was not enough of people working in the office. I will update on my review on this company.

    I started with Almeida's because the guy who did my lawn last year got hired on with them after he…read moreclosed his business. Chris (formerly of Groundwerx) did high quality work at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, Almeida's does not. They cost more and have done damage to my yard and my plantings. Early on, I realized that one of their workers had mowed completely over a mature hydrangea bush in my yard. When I pointed this out, the worker responded that it was "dead because of the choke weed." The bush was not dead until he ran over it with his mower. They eventually replaced the mature bush with a small, sickly-looking bush, which is completely out of scale to the mature bush beside it. The communication about replacing it was poor. Routinely, they leave a scar on a hill beside my house because they mow across the hill in such a way that that the mower cuts into the earth. I have spoken to them about this and have gotten no acknowledgement or response at all. They continue to do it. After their most recent service (yesterday) I realized that they had left the gate to my back yard open. Fortunately, my dog did not take advantage of the open gate to run away, but that is just luck. They did not take the time to put the gate back the way they found it, and as a result, they put my dog at risk. I have tried calling them several times, but have never been able to get through to a human. They seem to have replaced their previous frustrating fake-human voicemail with a simple voicemail, but that still doesn't get me through to a human being. I do not recommend this company: my experience was that they are difficult to get in touch with, charge more than the service is worth, and do a poor job. With all the lawn care companies out there, I'm sure I can do better.

Full details below: Justin…read moreresponded to my Yelp request for quote on a backyard project for a patio and play set area on 3/22/20 and showed up the next day to provide an estimate. He drafted up estimates fairly quickly, and we came to an agreement on 4/1/20 with project estimated to start the last week of April or first week of May. I paid a deposit for the full cost of the materials with payment on the labor to be paid upon completion of the project. He came with a guy on 4/19/20 to measure and stake out the areas, so all appeared to be on track. He does not have a stump grinder and would have to sub that piece out, so that was scheduled for the week of 5/11/20. I contacted Justin on 5/12/20 to confirm when the stump guy would be here because they were supposed to have the stumps cleared and begin work on the play set area that week ahead of the concrete delivery for footings in the play set area and under the paver patio where a pavilion would be installed. He did not respond, and I followed up again on 5/14/20 because the stump guy still had not shown and Justin had not responded. I spoke to him via phone, and he informed me that the stump guy was a week behind because of rain but assured me he would be there Monday or Tuesday of the next week. He assured me the stumps would be cleared and they would start work on the play set area by Wednesday 5/15 and the project would be completed by the end of the month. He sent me a text Saturday evening that he confirmed with the stump guy that he would be here Monday weather permitting. Monday was a beautiful day, but the stump guy had not shown in the morning. I texted to confirm the time he would be there and followed up with a call. Justin responded that he got a hold of the stump guy and that he was finishing another customer's job and would be here later Monday or Tuesday. I responded with a text informing him that I did not appreciate the broken promises and missed deadlines and asked for better communication from him of any issues going forward. The stump guy no-showed on Tuesday. When I texted and called Justin, he did not answer. When he finally did respond, he informed me that he would be cancelling the contract because he was understaffed, had not ordered the materials yet, and there was a 6-8 week wait for the pavers I had paid him a deposit for 6 weeks prior. He assured me he would process the return to my card as soon as possible. I had to follow up Thursday because he still had not done it. He responded and assured me that he processed it through Square and that it would take 2-7 business days for me to see it back in my account. I asked for a screenshot or other evidence of the return. He responded that he could provide a copy of the return but did not do it. I have had to open a dispute with my card company against the charge since I cannot trust anything he told me.
