When I explained why I didn't want the puppy, she became irate and told me I was a horrible person, etc. She refunded only half my money. I feel like the victim of false advertising--the puppy was nothing like the rambunctious puppies in the video, and I was not informed of that before I put down the deposit. Sebastian is a rescue dog with a bite history and we don't leave him with just anyone. Charles welcomed taking him in for a bath and a trim and did a very nice job. Everyone there was friendly and attentive. Really nice inside kennels for the grooming part and large outdoor kennels. Noticed a huge off-leash area with a few dogs in there. This place just feels right. I've never left my dogs in a kennel - I have had the same pet sitter for 20 years, but I could see myself trusting their care to these guys. They are 100% legit so I am unsure about all the negative comments, I am a real life person from Oregon who adopted a dog from them. Our coordinator who was based in Washington also connected one of our dogs siblings to use because at the time we didn't have social media and it's been so great to develop a friendship with them and for John and Elliot to be able to reconnect. The adoption prices has definitely gone up since March 2024 but not surprised as so has everything in this country. John is so well behaved and came that way and I attribute that to the amazing fosters these dogs have! Thank you TLP and if you're looking for a cat or dog, I highly recommend saving one from the overpopulation Texas area where this rescue saves dogs!

Would give zero stars if I could. First they charge three times as much as a local adoption…read more Second, my cat arrived filthy, covered in some sort of crust, so he needed a bath ASAP. Third, they claimed he was dewormed, yet we noticed little white worms coming out of his bottom immediately. After a a trip to the vet, he did indeed have a tapeworm, also Coccidia (a Giardia-like parasite that took two rounds of antibiotics and all the stomach upset that goes along with it) and he had a severe case of gingivitis that involved several more vet appointments and life-long dental care. I love my cat, but would I ever adopt through this agency again? Hell no. Thousands of dollars later and no response to my request for a refund of my fees, I say, just leave your door open for an hour and let the cat distribution system do its work. You'll save a lot of money and heartache. Oh, wait, don't get me started on the hours of interviews prior to adoption, not Giardia only for me, but my landlord and three of my references. They are overly thorough when it comes to wasting your time to make sure you're a solid candidate to own one of their rescues. Turns out that they put zero hours into making sure they ship you a healthy animal. Avoid this place at all costs!

I have been hearing about this organization for a few years, both at vegfest and as part of the…read moregoatolympics. I really appreciate that they take the time to come to vegfest and educate people about the work they do to help goats and offer classes to owners of goats on how to care for them. I hear the goatolympics is a great way to spend a day, but it continues to be on my list of things to do. The costume contest sounds amazing. I did finally make it out to the rescue for one of the Open Barn days. It seems they schedule a few each summer and you can drop in and get your picture with some goats and learn about the valuable work they do. We took a small child who seemed to enjoy himself and I personally enjoyed taking a variety of selfies with some of the cutest goats. I also really wanted to purchase a sweatshirt to support the organization and plan to do so in the future. There was a variety of volunteers on hand to answer our questions. Did you know that goats pee on their own head to attract a mate? It does make me not want to pet them so much. I loved seeing Elvis who has a condition that causes him to hop on his legs, but is still adorable and the perfect companion for pictures with small children. I do wish we would have known to bring some snacks to feed the goats, but some other visitors were nice enough to share their apple slices with us. Definitely check this out and support the goats!

We really wanted to know the proper way to care for goats before we just jumped in. So glad we did. Ellen presented a totally honest, in and outs, good and bads, hands on learning experience. We have decided we will get goats, but it will be a while. We need to get our property set up in such a way that both the goats and our property will prosper. We are going to save and put up the proper fencing, shelter, and get a stock of good grass hay in. In the meantime, I will be calling Ellen tomorrow to see about volunteering. I have never seen such a clean rescue facility. What a great way to learn. If you are thinking of getting goats, or even if you already have a few. This class is the way to go.
