I expressed clear interest in a specific lot while it was actively listed, only to have it abruptly removed without explanation. When I inquired, I was told the piece had been sold outside of the auction process through a priority purchase. However, when I pressed for more clarity, the representative then backtracked and said she wasn't actually sure whether it had been sold. The shifting explanation was misleading and gave the impression that the story was being adjusted after the fact to make the situation more palatable This undermines the fundamental premise of an auction- fair and open competition. Pulling a lot midstream and moving it elsewhere, combined with inconsistent explanations, suggests a lack of transparency at best. At a minimum, I would have expected a straightforward explanation and the courtesy of being informed, especially after expressing direct interest. Instead, the experience felt opaque and dismissive. If you're considering working with this auction house, be aware that listed inventory may not actually be available for bidding- even if you've already engaged. That's not a standard I would expect from a reputable auction platform.

Nothing is priced and asking a price results in an inattentive sales woman looking it up on a tablet which takes a long time, that is, if you can get her attention (I was the only customer in the store when I walked in). 2. When I first asked a price I was told in a way that assumed I couldn't afford it they everything in that case was at least $2,000. 3. Attitude. I'm a middle-aged, successful person. No need for 20-something sales women to act superior. I treat them with respect and expect the same in return. 4. When someone finally asked if I needed help (a person somewhat interested in at least playing the role of a salesperson) she seemed to want to help but not to really know what was in stock or what pieces were made of or any ballpark prices. She also seemed not really knowledgable about jewelry in general. She looked up one material/price for me and it took 5-10 minutes to find it. 5. Due to lack of service I couldn't even come close to selecting something. I realized they were going to close soon so I asked what time they were closing. I was BARKED AT like a person who was loitering, "In TWO MINUTES WE'RE CLOSING." I crassly said I was planing to spend a significant amount of money, but I guess that wasn't very interesting to this store! I also thought that the prices were very reasonable considering that I'd previously gone to places like Macy's and Kays just to see what was out there and found that it was more expensive to buy a plain wedding band there... I left without purchasing anything that day as I like to think things over(and over and over and over....) but came back a few days later to buy a beautiful ring that I couldn't stop thinking about. He had the ring resized in less than 24 hours and all polished up and sparkling like new by the time I picked it up. Also, they are extremely over priced. They wanted $90 for a copy of Deja Vu. The woman said it was an "original" and that their price was half of what you would find on ebay. Well, I knew she was full of it, but I checked ebay, and did not find one copy over $25. They wanted $50 for a piss poor copy of Every Picture Tells a Story. $125 for a Beatles record (i think VI) with extreme water damage. You can get Beatle records for a song (no pun intended) all day. They're everywhere. Don't let these good folks fool you.
