They only take appointments but you can make them in advance or on the kiosks in the lobby for a later time that day. At first it's a chaotic scene and there's no one there to tell you how to check in. But it becomes apparent pretty quicly. Unfortunately there's really no explanation how to use the kiosks and a large number of confused people trying to use one of the two machines. I'm fortunate because I worked in tech for 30 years and am comfortable with computers. But the elderly and non native English speakers in front of me could have used a friendly face to help them out. Appointment is a bit of a misnomer, it's more like a window. My appointment was at 10 and once I got my number it was another good 20 minutes before I was called. But the TV system is clear and lets you know where you are in the order. The clerk who helped my was sufficiently friendly and quickly walked me through the process and I was out of there about 45 minutes after checking in. DMVs are one one of those strange places, like jury duty where you see all types of people. I heard at least two people yelling at the clerks for no apparent reason. Come on, try to be nice, they're doing the best they can in a chaotic environment.

I attended public schools in Albuquerque through high school and also graduate school at UNM. Since leaving, I've visited Albuquerque at least once a year over the last 15 years. As such, I am in a good position to evaluate the City of Albuquerque. Albuquerque is the best of cities, Albuquerque is the worst of cities, it is a city of beauty, it is a city of ulgy, it is a city with wealth, it is a city of crime and poverty, it is a city of mountains, it is a city of valleys, it is a city of red, it is a city of green, it is a city of science, it is a city of superstition, there are too many people living in this desert, and there are not enough people living in this oasis, there are an infinite number of good restaurants, there are no good places to eat, it is a great place to raise a family, it is the worst place for a kid to grow up, it is a city of hot air balloons, it is a city of cold water rivers, it is a city of hot and dry days, it is a city of dark and stormy afternoons - in short, I believe that Albuquerque has only one face: that of a violent contradiction. Call me The Duke of Alburquerque.

First of all name tags are a thing of the past, because I got a full color souvenir wrist band with my name professionally printed on it without any extra charge. The shuttles to and fro are definitely not climate controlled so I take off a full star for that alone. I'm so sorry management but you'll have to try harder because I like to travel with a little more class. I'm not going to start on the food due to the fact that I've always had a discerning palate when it comes to my preferences with dining of any type. The beds were okay, but again I'm forced to remove a full star from the review for the lack of availability of a pillow of any type, much less my usual preference of a goose down pillow. The other guest can get pretty excited, so if you're used to falling asleep in total silence you should reconsider your stay here. I'll bump your facility up another star if you remodel your restroom facilities with a bigger emphasis on privacy. Overall 3 out of 5 stars which means I'd stay here again, but maybe recommend a different place to a friend.

I was contacted a short time later by a nice attorney with the office, who actually seemed to care. He contacted the business, and checked back with me a few weeks later to see if anything had happened. (Unfortunately, the answer was no.) Although I didn't get so much as an apology from Midas, let alone a refund, I can tell you that the AG in New Mexico is far more interested in helping consumers than the AG in my own state of Colorado, where all you get is a form letter telling you to contact the Better Business Bureau.

NM DOJ Technician: Gina Ray…read moreI contacted NM DOJ because of a financial dispute I am having with an Albuquerque business. I filed an online complaint with the DOJ website. Their policy concerning disputes says: "NMDOJ's Advocacy and Intervention Division offers informal complaint resolution services, that are free of charge for the public. However, our complaint resolution program relies on the voluntary cooperation of both parties to reach a mutually satisfying resolution. The NMDOJ can never guarantee a particular outcome". Ms. Ray contacted the business I have the dispute with and I suppose explained my position to them. They replied back to her and said that I had no basis for my complaint, and have a nice day. I contacted Ms. Ray again to tell her that as for my part in this, I wanted the NM DOJ to use their resolution services to settle this. I also asked her if she would contact the company I am having the difficulty with and to ask what their intentions are concerning using DOJ to resolve. I asked this several times. Her answer was always the same: "It would not be appropriate for this office to provide legal advice to you". I was not asking for legal advice, I was asking what the intentions were of the other party. What did NMDOJ do for me? Nothing. I did not expect them to represent me, however I did expect them to contact both parties and to let us know how, or if, to proceed. I am at a loss to understand what utility NM DOJ has for the common citizen of NM. Why bother filing a complaint? All the other party has to do is explain away the complaint or ignore it, and the process dies there. Is it possible to not give any stars? I did not get any service.

I went there for the Veterans Day celebration, first time and nothing in the modern area. I asked a couple of the volunteers about it they simply said we don't have anything like that sweetheart. I'm sorry that just seems a little wrong to me. Kind of makes me feel as though the city, the state, this country in large doesn't care much about our modern-day veterans. That sentiment is carried over to the staff that showed a general disdain for my A simple question. it made a huge impact on my Veterans Day going there to remember, and honor my late friends and Saud nothing, no plaques, no awards, no decorations in the visitor center, nothing after The Cold War.
