Everybody is so friendly and welcoming- including the members, front desk employees, fitness staff, maintenance, etc. I spent several years working out at a YMCA, and the UMCC's facility is very similar to the Y that I went to. I'm originally from Virginia, so I really appreciate feeling closer to home. You have the option of working out in the fitness center, attending a group fitness class, playing pickleball, playing basketball, etc. I would 100% recommend the community center!!

We walked in and the lady behind the retail/customer service desk told us about the building and where to walk since it was our first time visiting, she was very lovely! The first floor had their showing for their art show and the rest of the floors is their classrooms and displayed all their students art pieces. It is an absolutely beautiful building and all of the art is amazing. Some pieces you are able to buy which I find very cool!

They have a large pool area which is definitely the nicest of the YMCAs in the area. Their lifting/cardio area is on the smaller side, but all the equipment is very nice. It is pretty busy most the time (5:30am + 5:30pm crew), but depending on what you are working you should have a pleasant experience.

I don't know if you need to be with a member to go swimming but you did have to pay. An adult price was $10 and kids under 12 was $7. I thought that was a little steep for a 2 year old. I thought he would possibly be free because he would be with my husband. The facilities were nice. To get a locker you need to leave a drivers license. I thought that was a little much. Oh well. There were swim classes going on so ever so often, the small swimming area would be flooded by parents with their kids. The water sprayers were fun for the kids also. This place is fun especially during the cold months but I would hope for cheaper prices for small kids.

Quietly, last spring, CommonSpace opened their second location in Ardmore. This space, formerly a…read morePilates Studio, became a community art studio, where people could come to make art, take a yoga class, play board games, join a knitting circle. This former "corner store" layout is wonderful for all of these activities, with lots of room for tables and supplies. There's a private bathroom as well. Speaking of supplies - they have so much to create with! There's also displays of work by local artists for everyone to enjoy. I come to this space for their board game group, which is quite fun, and FDC is a regular at their knitting circle. The only challenge is with parking, which is street parking, however I've never had to go more than a block away to park. It's a great addition to Ardmore and I'm so glad to have it.
