I certainly didn't want my first review to be a one star, but I'm left with no other choice in this regard. It's all very sad, I heard so many great things about BPG from friends, but what I experienced is not acceptable. I arrived at BPG early Monday afternoon and was gracious, being that I have read about the parking situation, to find plenty of available spaces. I parked, exited my vehicle, and received a call from my mother on the way to the front door. I was asked, upon my approach to the front door, by security to use my phone in the "picnic area." I had no qualms with the request, and to be honest, rather enjoyed the nice space set aside outside for patients. I finished my phone conversation and preceded back to the front door. The security at the door was very pleasant, and upon learning that it was my first time, was more then helpful in getting me inside and on my way. I made my way to the front desk and was greeted with a pretty smile by the receptionist. She asked for my California ID, along with my physician statement, just as the security at the front door did. Redundant, yes, but such cheerful staff made it seem irrelevant. So I sat down and began reading the "building guidelines." It was at this time my cell phone went off. The receptionist was kind enough to point out that cell phone usage is prohibited in the building and asked me to turn my phone off. I was more then happy to oblige, she flashed that beautiful smile again, and I just couldn't say no. Well, a short time after being informed, and reminded of the "building guidelines," a rather tall and slender man, dressed business casual, with a neatly trimmed mustache and beard, walked around the corner. He was in route to the front door, and sure enough, he was speaking on his cell phone. I was astonished. I was just, in a gently way, admonished for doing such; however, apparently no one spoke to him. Well, that is until he exited out the door. The security at the door, in a playful manner, reminded him of the "building guidelines." The man responded by continuing to speak on his phone, and to my utter amazement, showed the security a vulgar, derogatory, and distasteful hand gesture. Or in layman's terms, the "middle finger." I'm not sure how you feel, but in my reality, such a gesture is unacceptable. I couldn't believe the brazen disregard for basic human decency this callus, arrogant, and distasteful individual showed. Not just to the staff, but to anyone in the vicinity who had no other choice but to witness his classlessness. The security seemed to laugh it off. Which is major kudos on their part. I asked the security who that person was, and I was told he's the general manager. I asked, the general manager of what? Because I will make it a point to never step foot in his place of business. I was then informed that he is the GM of BPG. I was stunned, speechless, and flabbergasted. I had to collect myself for a moment. I asked his name, and was told it's Shaun. I'm sorry, but an 8Th grader would have a better grasp of respectfulness in the public eye then this man. And being what I seen, I could hardly call him a man. He needs to be returned to the barn, cave, or rock he crawled out of. And once he has evolved, which hopefully he does, he then can return to society and function in an appropriate manner. I immediately spoke to the receptionist, told her I forgot a prior engagement I had, and I would need my items back. She smiled, handed me my items, and gave me her regards. As I exited, the security, just as the receptionist, wished me well. Both, I might ad, were very cordial. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. read more
