The good part was I called the officer trough the switch board of the police department, left a message, He cared to call back and clarify the issue, and in fact I was mistaking the Law. The measurement was from the passenger side not the driver side----- So, Now I have to pay a $40.00 ticket. But I liked the fact, that there are real people behind Law enforcement that care to communicate!

I understand that issuing citations is part of the job and there is a certain stress level built into the occupation. In general, I respect law enforcement and I'm a law abiding citizen with absolutely no previous record. Today, I was pulled over while riding my bicycle for "rolling through" a stop sign. Fair enough, a verbal warning and/or a ticket followed by an exchange of pleasantries such as "Be safe, and have a nice day" would have been greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, instead of returning the respect that I was showing the officer, I received nothing but disrespect from the officer. I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of people skills and frankly the lack of respect this individual displayed as a representative of law enforcement. I'm usually a very positive person but this experience just left me so drained and bummed out that I felt it necessary to join yelp to express my dissatisfaction. Please note: I'm not advocating that civil disobedience, malfeasance, or the like should be tolerated by law enforcement. However, it seems to me that the police need to start showing a little respect when dealing with the folks who they are supposed to be serving. I'm seriously struggling with whether or not to favorably support law enforcement related programs moving forward as I feel helplessly under served by a group who touts they are here "To protect and serve". I'm hopeful that this message resonates loud and clear to those who are either currently serving as officers and/or those who are considering a career in law enforcement.

After a very traumatic moving violation for running a red light on Halloween at Lombard and…read moreFillmore, where I almost ran down a motorcyclist who decided to stop in the middle of an intersection, I decided that I had been wronged. Slapped with a $280 dollar ticket, I chose to take my case to the SF Municipal Court and lay it all out in front of a judge. My attorney, more commonly known as my dad, told me Night Court was always the way to go. That way, the police officer who pulled me over would most likely not show up, and that way I could plead my case without being contested. I armed myself. I was ready to fight this ticket and ready to represent myself in a Court of Law. Complete with a diorama depicting the events of October 31st, 2005 made up of 3 Hot-Wheels Cars and a piece of paper made to look like the intersection , I made my way to the courthouse at about 6pm. There were some other offenders there, and we were told to get in line. At the front of the line, the bailiff handed us our cases, including the police report. The judge would be given the police report to read, at which point we would be able to plead our cases. If we decided not to plead our case, we would be given a reduced fine and mandatory traffic school. After reading over my police report, which was VERY incriminating, written from the Officer's POV, my counsel and I (again, my daddy) decided that we would not plead the case, but rather submit to the $50 dollar fine with traffic school. Although I was confident that I hadn't been in the wrong, once your right to pay the $50 dollars and take traffic school is waived, there's no going back. It would then be completely up to the Judge. We stuck around to listen to the other cases, just for kicks. The Judge was not Harry T. Stone. Bull wasn't there, and Night Court is actually pretty drab. I mean, I was in the Moving Violations division, so that might have had something to do with that. Nonetheless, Mr. Judge Dude was pretty hawt. I was starting to regret my decision, just when "guy who ran a stop sign (GWRSS)" was up to plead his case. It went a little something like this: Hottie Judge- So, what happened? GWRSS - I was going down a hill, and I stopped, but my car rolled a little through the stop sign, and that's when I got pulled over. Hottie Judge - So you are saying you stopped at the stop sign? GWRSS - Yessir. Hottie Judge - I see reasonable doubt in this case, and I will dismiss it. You can go. Oh HELL to the NO! I had a frickin diorama ready for Hottie Judge and Mr. Reasonable Doubt over there just got let loose without even a slap on the wrist. I could of taken him. I could have won my case. In fact, I am sure of it. Moral of this sad, arduous, lengthy tale is -- fight your traffic violations. Even if you were in the wrong, still go to night court and get the $50 dollar fine. It's totally worth it, plus learning about our legal system can be an enjoyable, if not educational, nighttime event. ;)

I remember when you started all those golf course master communities, etc. Things to do and see in San Ramon: If you love nature - Mt Diablo, Diablo Range, San Ramon Valley, Las Trampas Regional Wilderness, Forest Home Farms Historic Park, Bishop Ranch Regional Preserve, Bridges Golf Course, Canyon Lakes Golf Course & Brewery, San Ramon Golf Club, etc. 2014 - City center is still my favorite part of the city. 350k square feet! Beautiful space, plenty of restaurants, a brewery (Fieldworks), etc. Atmosphere - See above. 18.72 square miles, 0.03 of which is water. 2020 census population of 84.6k. Largest employers are - PG&E, Chevron (I believe they are moving, if they have not moved already), Robert Half International, BMO Bank, etc. Service - Good, they cater to a slightly more affluent customer. It also depends on what you do, eat, or drink. Price - Reasonable. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1983.

So I've lived in San Ramon for the past three years now, so I think I've got a fair grasp of what…read moreit's like living here. These are just my opinions on what it's been like. I'll start with the Pro's: -It's safe. Really one of the few cities left in the Bay Area where it feels like you can walk around in public and not be scared of being a victim of a crime, or worry that your car will be broken into for zero reason. -It's a clean city. You won't find streets or really any areas that have been taken over by trash or encampments here. -Public services are really good. The libraries are really nice. Lots of parks and sports things to take advantage of (skateparks, tennis courts, soccer fields, etc). Plenty of trails through the hills as well. Post office is really efficient. As for the Con's: -Driving through San Ramon is actually a nightmare for no other reason than the traffic lights and terrible drivers. It's like their city planner decided on pure chaos when they engineered the traffic lights here. They somehow managed to make it so that you will hit every red light possible. You'll have a main road with a 50 mph speed limit, and it'll take you 20 minutes to drive 3 miles, because you'll spend 15 of those minutes stopped at a red light. The problem is that their lights both have zero communication with one another, and the side streets take priority over the main roads. Stopped at a red light at one intersection? Be prepared to stop at a red light 100 yards down the street. What's the point of a 50mph speed limit if you're just stop and go every block (looking at you here Bollinger Canyon Rd). Single car just pulled up from a side road? Boom, instant red light for the main road. The lights linger as red's for so long as well. It's super common to get stopped at a red light, notice that zero cars have moved for the last 15 seconds, think to yourself "why is this even a red light", wait 10 more seconds, and then finally one of the lights will turn green and a direction of traffic will move, but usually not yours. -For some reason San Ramon has these walking trails that cut through main roads of the city, so you'll have a main road with 50+ cars stopped for one pedestrian that has suddenly decided to cross the road. Like, your city is rich enough, just build a bridge for the pedestrians. For example, there's one of these a few blocks away from The Lot. Massive and busy downtown shopping area, and you're going to have a pedestrian trail stopping all traffic for one person walking. It's absolutely dumb, especially when there's both crosswalks for normal pedestrians to use at regular traffic lights just a few yards away, and there's already 3 regular traffic lights just between Alcosta Rd to The Lot. You don't need that extra one just for a trail. -The drivers here are bad. I've lived in the Bay Area nearly every year of my 34, and San Ramon has the worst of any city I've ever been in. A very solid portion of drivers here are afraid of the speed limit, and will drive 10 to 15 mph below it. Others are just actually bad, like lane changes without any care for who's next to them, stopping in the middle of the road, or they're glued to their phones. Here in San Ramon, you will definitely have a Tesla cut you off, brake check you, and drive 10 below the speed limit. In other cities, you'll maybe encounter someone like this on the road somewhat commonly, but here in San Ramon it's about 25% of the drivers. -So expensive. I get it, cause it's a very safe spot in the Bay Area, but housing and rentals should not be this much for what you get. Food and groceries run pricier than the norm too. -If you've got any sort of color to your skin, you're more than likely to run into some sort of racism at some point in this city. It's a very rich city with people who like to act rich, and it leans conservative. So be prepared for the microaggressions. And the Mid's -Restaurants are so middle of the road. Most of the restaurants are just okay, not good and not bad. There's Marugame Udon and a Philz. Hooray? Orient Express and MJ Sushi are some of the more hidden gems in terms of food here. A lot of the restaurants here are designed for people who think Chipotle is ethnic food, so take that for what you will. -Somewhat central Bay Area location is fine. San Jose is half an hour away. Oakland is 45 minutes. The City is about an hour away. Could be better, and could be lots worse. -Weather is fine. Way hotter than the rest of the Bay. But, it's the Bay Area and it's better than 90% of the rest of the country anyways so I can't complain much. In all, it's a decent spot in the Bay Area to live. Haven't minded it too much the last 3 years.

Flawless handling of election ballots in a chaotic election year, the SF Department of Elections…read morehas done a fantastic job. Like many Americans. I fretted about mailing my ballot: The USPS is overwhelmed and I wanted to make sure I got my ballot in early and that it'd be counted. No matter what party affiliation you are, every vote is important. Every vote should be counted. We have a unique, Democratic right that we sometimes take for granted. Vote! Vote early or vote on Election Day. Just vote. During this pandemic, San Francisco stepped up to the challenge with 588 polling places including one I drove into today at the Bill Graham Civic Center Auditorium. I drove a short few blocks up Grove, past the SF Symphony, and saw the street blocked off. Signs directed you left to a frontage lane where election staff collected your ballot through the window of your car. No need to find parking, no need to wait in a long line under the hot sun. SF Election Department staff were courteous, masked and asked if I wanted to see my ballot deposited (yes). My Local Polling Place Rocks…read more Unlike City Hall on Saturday, there was no line or hour and a half wait. I got there early this morning showed my ID, signed-in, got my ballot, and did my thing. I'm sticking with my local place from now on. Civic Duty done. Funny story: poll worker (pw): I know that last name. Are you related to [some guy]? voter: you ask me this question every year. no, I don't know [some guy]. pw: Really? Your name is rare. I use to work with [some guy]. You sure you're not related in some way. voter: I sure. pw: Okay, the guy next to me will hand you the ballots. I am thankful for the volunteers who work the polls but sometimes you just gotta wonder.

He didn't reply just asked for paperwork. Showed him everything told him i cant seem to login into my insurance app since theirs no signal near the ports behind 7th st oakland. I told him i have my policy number. MIND you my passenger seat is someone whos in law enforcement whos a police officer for texas. He showed him his id and badge and told him he can search on his data base by policy number but the officer didnt care at all and gave me a no insurance ticket. Not even a fixable ticket?? Seriously? I could have just went down the street where it might be signal and provided him the insurance but he stayed silent and left me with a "no insurance ticket" even though i do. And he still wouldn't answer my question. He was very nervous. I showed him i just had a claim last month and all info. Anways ill see you in court

Its amazing the services you learn about when you work for a company that has two offices and you…read morejust need to get misc. business done. Its amazing that these niche little companies are out there and just know how to help companies in such a convenient and efficient way. The company I work for has large trucks that we either own or rent or lease. Occasionally we buy one of our rental or leases and in order to process the purchase we need to get misc. DMV registration and records verified. We are a busy company and my guys who drive these trucks are always out on the road. So it was very convenient to schedule a time for ASAP Lien Sales to meet us at our office early in the morning before our guys head out to verify the VIN and fill out the necessary paper work to submit to DMV. Its was so fast and efficient. My two most favorite things to expect from any business.
