Used to really enjoy this library, however, they've unfortunately had staffing changes during the past 6 months or so that have proved detrimental to the library. The supervisor who seems to now be overall in charge was generally friendly in the past but when there was an item on my account that I had returned a week earlier, she became very stiff and cold. They found it on the shelf and I wasn't upset as we all make mistakes, but the woman became so cold that even her face seemed to freeze up. It was as if she was angry at me. When I left, I remembered seeing her demeanor the same a few weeks before with a customer near me at the desk. At that time, I'm sorry to admit, I thought it was the other customer who was the problem. Now I know.
I have also had to go to Charleston libraries for reference help. They used to have well trained reference staff at Goose Creek library but not anymore. There was a nice librarian who trained the staff- one of the ladies had told me about how great she felt her training had been with that librarian. Not sure of her name, but she had blonde hair with bangs and wore glasses. Sorry she's gone. It's more difficult to get information I'm looking for - and isn't that what you're supposed to be able to find at your library?! read more
