On the very first night, I managed to get a brutal kink in my neck thanks to a questionable timeshare pillow. The pain and immobility were so bad my wife insisted I see a chiropractor. Even though they were out of network and I had to pay cash ($125 for the new patient assessment and $75 for the adjustment), it ended up being some of the best money I've ever spent. Dr. Tim was incredibly kind, thorough, and generous with his time. He didn't just focus on the immediate neck pain -- he took a deep dive into my history of injuries, mobility, and overall fitness goals. His approach felt truly holistic. After some time resting with CBD cream and a heating pad, he came back in and delivered what I can only describe as a "bomber" adjustment. The relief was so immediate and powerful I actually teared up. I told him, "I feel like I should give you a hug." With the calm confidence of someone who is one part Kurt Russell and one part martial arts sensei, he said, "Well, that's okay," and gave me a good‑natured embrace. I was able to see him again a few days later to reinforce the work before our 10‑hour drive back to Los Angeles, which made a huge difference. If I lived in Tahoe, I'd be in his office regularly. If you're visiting and something goes sideways with your back or neck, I can't recommend Dr. Tim and his wonderful staff highly enough. Shah called me right away and within an hour I was in Dr. Tim Schoeder's Office getting the care and healing I needed. No X-Ray's needed. Dr. Tim went right to work with a variety of modalities. His experience in Karate gives Dr. Tim an extra boost with his hands and the ability to seek, find and penetrate into those areas especially painful. Old issues we worked on during my session, but started on the newer issues, which were the reason for making this recent amount. During my session G focused on new and old issues alike, using a series of different tools and practices. From cupping, to scraping (Graston) and other Istrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) to stretching and manual massage. I called back to clarify coverage, and she scheduled an appointment for my husband. I then had to remind her that the appointment was for both of us before she added me. We have kids and had to arrange childcare, including having a family member take time off work, so getting to this appointment took real effort. When we arrived, she reviewed our insurance card and immediately questioned our deductible, saying she was going to charge us and that we needed to know our deductible for future visits. When we suggested calling the insurance company, my husband did so and confirmed that our chiropractic care is covered at 100% with no deductible. Instead of handling this professionally, she appeared surprised and said she had "never heard of that," and that "she's been around a long time", followed by, "It'd be nice if they paid me back at 100%," in a sarcastic and rude tone. She then asked where my husband works and made comments implying that he must be "high up" to have good insurance. This felt inappropriate and judgmental. She then proceeded by saying that he must have been in the right place at the right time. Immediately, we felt offended. When we explained that it comes from hard work, not luck, the interaction became even more uncomfortable. The overall experience was unprofessional, dismissive, and made us feel unwelcome. We did not feel respected as patients. After everything, we chose to leave without receiving care. It's unfortunate that we weren't able to experience the doctor's adjustments due to how Tracy spoke to us. I'm not sure why our experience was so different from how this office is portrayed in other reviews. Tracy was NOT helpful, and by the time we left, we felt more tense than when we arrived. Between the scheduling issues, misinformation about insurance, and disrespectful comments, this was not an environment we were comfortable in. We do not recommend this office based on our experience.
