We used Berardi for years and loved them, but their service has drastically declined. Last spring, a new technician failed to properly turn on our sprinklers. Because our system is set to run at 4 AM, we didn't realize for weeks that the water wasn't actually running. When we called them about it, instead of coming out to fix it, they just walked my husband through how to do it himself over the phone--with no apology or refund. This spring, after clearing up an overlooked bill (a genuine mistake on my part, which I'm noting here to be upfront in case the owner tries to reply and use it against me), scheduling was a nightmare. I was given a 10 AM - 1 PM arrival window. When I called the morning of the appointment to confirm the timing, an incredibly unpleasant receptionist told me the window was 12 PM - 3 PM and aggressively insisted I had made the mistake and that they don't offer a 10-1 window. She passed me to the manager, Tricia, who also blamed me because they would be in Dorchester during the 10-1 window. She said I must have made the mistake because I had been with them for so many years and must be familiar with their time windows. I had 10-1 written in my planner, in my phone calendar, and in a text to my husband. Furthermore, I leave the house at 2 PM every day, so I never would have accepted a 12-3 PM appointment to begin with. Instead of taking accountability for an obvious scheduling error, they chose to argue with me and blame the customer. Needless to say, I immediately canceled my account and look forward to using a different company next week. read more

I have been working with Berardi Irrigation for two years now, ever since I bought my house where they installed an almost 20-year-old irrigation system. The teams arrive on-time, are on top of fall/spring scheduling, and do great work. Have had them only a couple of years and have had a ton of issues with them. First, after opening our irrigation system this spring, they told us the wiring for the zones needed to be fixed. They "fixed" it and turned off some of our zones so they weren't working at all on the time (removed them from our system's program). Then when we turned on the zones, we realized there were issues with the heads (one was leaking and others were popping up and down without properly watering which suggested there was still an issue with the wiring). When they winterized they forgot to turn off the water to the system from the inside (only turned off a handle that was half way down the exposed pipe on the outside) and when we pointed it out and said we wanted it properly winterized they came back, did it properly the second time, and then tried to charge us for 2 winterization visits. read more

He set a time for me and then cancelled 2 days beforehand leaving me in the lurch. He failed to deliver to me a complete contract despite my multiple requests. Obviously I have no idea with regards to his ability to install sprinklers. read more

Waited for one month for a tech to come out. Tech showed up at the wrong time. Replaced back flow valve incorrectly causing water to leak/spray out when sprinklers turned on. Caller Berardi they initially said they can come back in one month to fix the problem they created. After I explained that my grass will dry out after a month of no water they said the owner would come the next day between 8 and 12 to fix the problem. Next day they call me back and tell me the owner will not be coming because he does not have tools on his truck. The best they can do is have a tech come in two weeks. Don't do business with Berardi irrigation. They have incompetent techs and are not interested in resolving the problems their tech create in a timely manner. They will make promises they will not keep leaving you to deal with their incompetence on your own. read more

Had Berardi stall system a few years ago. It went fine. This year, tried to schedule them to startup the system and they have canceled TWICE on the day they were supposed to come. First time, they were short a technician. Today, she told me she does not know where the technician is. Seriously? How do you run a business if you don't know where your employees are? Have to reschedule a third time, but she is making me wait an entire week. I told her I should get priority since she cancelled twice already. But nope. I am going to look for another company for maintenance next year. This is beyond ridiculous. Don't bother. read more

First of all, the lady who does answer the phone was very rude. I called them to report one of our system hasn't work after they came out to turn on the system. We noticed after a couple of weeks but decide to call them to let them know. And the lady who was on the phone started to accusing me why I call them after a couple of weeks really badly. And then she started to talking that we owe over $400 for fixing the system. Again, she was the one blaming me to report a problem after weeks!!! Now she said we owe $$ without notice to house owner or permitting from house owner. I am not even sure they really fix all the parts honestly. At the end, my husband called them to meet in the half way but it is still upsetting me the way the handle their business and treat customers. Stay away from this company! read more

Berardi Irrigation was very professional and did excellent work too, they installed a completely new sprinkler system for my new house, they came back when I got home from work at 6:30 and spent an hour with me to make sure I knew exactly how to operate my new system. Gabe the owner of Berardi came back a week later just to make sure everything was working the way that it should, he also showed me how to do quick adjustments if I ever need to, All and all I know I made the right decision going with Berardi Irrigation, there were many Irrigation companies to choose from and I have heard horror stories of some other companies. I almost forgot to mention I had them install outside lighting too, YES THEY DO OUTSIDE LIGHTING TOO, Gabe was very helpful choosing lights and had a lot of great ideas too, I went with the nicer LED lights and happy I did because they are much more efficient, the outside lighting makes my house look really nice at night. Been a customer for a few years and I will not be anymore. Nuff said. FYI they give you an invoice after the service is done. I scheduled to have my system to be turned on for the season and very few things were done and it turned out to be over $500 which is ridiculous. Rude too.... Keep it up and you'll end up losing customers and your business will be done. Such a joke. Will definitely not recommend anybody to use their company. I called to have a quote for landscape lighting twice and i never got a call back? I called them 6 months later to schedule for somebody to come out because I needed them to connect the sprinklers up. They mentioned somebody would call me back they never did ! I had to call back again and schedule for a Saturday. Saturday appt was between 9-10am and tne tech showed up at 12 and said he called twice but no answer. They had the wrong number? He couldn't do the job either because he didn't have the right tools. The company has gotten to big and the personal service is gone. I wouldn't reccoment them at all based on there track record. read more
