First of all, I love Bento Cafe's sushi from the lunch bar. It's a great deal. They have a preselected set of sushi rolls and you can either order 2 or 3 rolls. I really like the shrimp tempura, the dynamite roll and the rock n roll. Additionally. I really enjoy the Ricky roll however, that one is not a part of the selected rolls. Furthermore, there are sushi bento boxes as well as "regular" bento boxes. They do have bubble tea as well and other dishes such as udon and fried rice. Overall, there is usually something for everyone here. It's a great addition to Fishers. read more

I've been here twice for lunch and dinner and loved both of my experiences! The owner and waiters are incredibly friendly and the food is delicious. The prices are also very reasonable! Any of their bentos are a good value! I typically go for the sushi bento which has soup or salad, 2 pieces of gyoza, vegetable tempura, California roll, and the sushi of your choice from their list. Most are under $10! If you're looking to impress and try a variety of things, the Lovers Boat is a good option and has a beautiful presentation. Its basically 8 pieces of nigiri, a dragon roll and another roll I forgot the name of, and about 20 pieces of sashimi. I'm someone who knows what I like and don't like so I would probably prefer to pay a couple more dollars and order the specific rolls and nigiri that I enjoy. The sashimi entree is probably the best deal I've seen around these parts especially considering the quality of the fish! It's 20 pieces of variety of about 5-6 different fishes including super white tuna! For about $21 with soup or salad, it's a winner! Also there is something about the soy sauce that makes it really delicious, aromatic, and not your typical store bought sauce. The ambiance and indoor decor is comfortable and feels a bit fancy but the food and service is down to earth and just plain good and consistent. This is such a cool little Asian restaurant. You would think this would be downtown somewhere on Meridian St or Mass Ave. But you would be wrong. It's located in a strip mall out in the middle of nowhere in Fishers next to an LA Fitness and a bike/running store. Prices are extremely reasonable. You can opt to go the traditional, family-style route and order full platters of all the entrees, soups, and appetizers to share or you can get a bento box (hence the name) which comes with rice, soup or salad, a California roll, and an entree. There are lunch and dinner bento boxes. And these are not your run-of-the-mill bento boxes that you see at several of the sushi restaurants around town. These are monster boxes. You will probably find yourself getting a doggy bag. The decor can only be described as modern Asian. There are no giant pictures of the Great Wall, but you can definitely tell this is an Asian restaurant. If you sit along the walls, be prepared to be bathed in black light (so get that lint off your black shirt, for Pete's sake). The menu definitely caters to the American palate so you will see the usual General Tso's chicken, broccoli beef, etc., but there are some more authentic items for the more adventurous, too. Sushi is made fresh and if you order enough, it gets served to you in a gigantic wooden boat which is pretty cool. They also have an extensive selection of bubble (or boba, if you prefer) teas which are made at warp speed and are at your table in under 2 minutes. There are not many family-owned restaurants in Fishers so the next time I am in the area, Bento Cafe has deserved a well-earned return visit. read more

I love some good sushi & this place has got it. My mom and I love this place and come here every so often. The food is way cheap for what you get. I usually get a bento box that comes with a main dish ( I like the teriyaki salmon) along with white or fried rice, a crab Rangoon, a spring roll, 4 California rolls, and miso soup or salad. Which was what I got today. I also had their calamari as an appetizer & let me tell you, that sauce for dipping was to die for. It made the calamari delicious & the breading for it was nice and crunchy just how I like it. They also have some really good boba milk tea (tapioca balls at the bottom) if you're into that. I had the honey dew flavor and it literally taste like honey dew in a glass, especially on a hot day like today. Yummmmy!! You can also get pop boba which is basically a fruit ball that is filled with a flavor and it literally, pops in your mouth. I've have the strawberry green tea which is equally delicious. I would recommend getting light or no ice with these drinks because they are $3.20 & the ice takes up a lot of room, meaning barely any liquid which is defiantly a downfall. I really love this place. Not all sushi restaurants are the same. I've been coming here for a couple of years now, and I've never had a bad roll. While most of their rolls are mostly fried, you can't complain. Try the Rock N Roll, Jaguar, or Ricky Roll. My favorite item on the menu would be their Bento Boxes. Plenty of items for a great price. I'd recommend swapping out the California Roll for one of their specialty rolls for an upcharge, well worth it. Presentation is on-point with their sauce art and other small elements they add to their plates. Try to go on off times as service does get a bit backed up when they're extremely busy. I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem off 116th street. It's tucked away by LA Fitness. I've been telling myself since I moved to the area I was going to check it out and I was happy I did. First they had a slight crowd despite the cold Indy weather today.... BUT the service was still great. I didn't take any pictures of the egg rolls but ORDER THEM! They are so good and super fresh. I also didn't get any pictures of the generals chicken. Me and my husband split a generals tso, Dynamite roll ( which is HUGE) and the spicy salmon roll. It was all delicious and we had about 3 pieces of dynamite roll to take home because it's little huge struggled to grab with my chopsticks. All in all it was good. Fresh vegetables and nice portion sizes with plenty of indoor seating. The Thai Mango chicken was not at all spicy which surprised me. It was also very soupy and overly sweet. Didn't care for the miso soup but really liked the salad, the dressing was really delicious. For the bento box with Mongolian beef. The entree was good, spicy like Mongolian beef should be. I got fried rice and it wasn't flavorful. The crab rangoon seemed like it had been made for the lunch run and had been sitting a while. The dinner box portions are pretty impressive, for 13 bucks you get Miso Soup to start, and your box comes with a crab rangoon, a fried spring roll, 2 pork gyoza, a California roll, rice AND about a half order of an entree. For under 40 bucks we both had a dinner box and we got Boba as well, and everything was pretty tasty! Not to mention it's pretty comfortable for a sit down restaurant, even if the exterior doesn't show it. Will certainly visit again! read more

Good stuff! Excellent value for lunch with their bento boxes (hence the name). The interior is really upscale and modern as others have stated. Lunch was great because you get a little of everything in those boxes. We were seated in the first table next to the window, but we weren't past the room divider thing (not sure what it's called) so every time the door was opened, I was blasted with really warm air so that was kind of annoying. Just don't sit at that table! The rest are well away from the door and behind the divider. The bento box comes with a spring roll, crab rangoon, California roll, rice (fried or steamed), and your selection of one entree. You also get the option of soup or salad before the meal arrives. Each portion was good, and I like their General Tso's (I really need to branch out). The chicken was perfectly fried and still had great crunchy texture under the savory, slightly spicy sauce! That's really hard to get right. Everything else was pretty standard so it tasted like I expected but I wasn't blown away. It's nice to have a place like this for a nicely priced meal during the workday. I'd like to come back and try the other sushi. The California roll included was decent, but I wouldn't normally order that particular roll. The crab rangoon was serviceable, but I am really picky about crab rangoon since I prefer one particular place in town for that. read more

Their lunch options vary from fresh sushi rolls to noodles to a great selection of Bento boxes. Can't decide? Opt for one of their appetizers to broaden your experience. Hibachi rice is also available during lunch. The setting is surprisingly swanky with gorgeous lighting throughout the restaurant adding an upscale feel. Save room for dessert and try their Japanese ice cream (Green Tea/ Vanilla/Red Bean) or a delicious brulee. I'm not a fan of bubble tea, but they have plenty of flavors if that's your thing.
