Then at the end of my service, the lady at the front DEMANDED that I tip the rude lady me and her went back and forth for a minute with me telling her "Don't tell me to tip anybody, I'll tip if I feel like it" and she replied "BYE" yup it's bye because we won't be back and they lost a long time customer and me and my husband had just paid $100 for our service. I have been coming here for years. I absolutely love this place and the ladies who work here. They're great at this business all around, but by far my favorite are the pedicures and the prices! The pedicures are a spa experience; they actually massage your feet and calves as part of the basic pedicure, including hot rocks and a hot towel (and you don't have to upgrade to get any of that). This was my first time here and I was very disappointed! I was there today around 1:30pm to get a pedicure and gel manicure. The salon was not busy, there were only two other customers getting pedicures. I did not have to wait and was waited on as soon as I decided on a polish color. The women with the chin piercing who worked on me rushed through both my pedicure and manicure. I've never gotten a pedicure and manicure that was done in under 1 hour. She rushed through the whole process and did a half ass job on everything. For example, filing was not done properly, she did not buff my nails, no lotion on my feet, no oil for my nails and cuticles. She barely spent time pushing my cuticles back and cutting it. Her paint job was horrible and sloppy (refer to pics). When she was finished with my gel manicure I was surprised at how sloppy it looked and HAD to ask her to clean it up. Her way of cleaning up the polish around my edges and nails were using the nipper to clip my skin. Seriously?! This was a VERY disappointing experience. If you're going to do a half ass job then charge me half the damn price! I will return again and make sure I express these same concerns to the staff and make sure the women with the chin piercing does not work on me ever again. Now, if she was new to the job and is inexperienced, I believe customers deserves to know so we know the outcome to expect or request for someone else. read more

I will NEVER go back to this nail salon. The technicians are extremely rude and too busy talking among themselves than with their customers. My pedicure was extremely rushed and it looked like NOTHING was done. They are a bunch a money-hungry women, who charge you a "ton" of money for sub-par work and expect you to tip everyone who touches you. I had one woman start a pedicure on me and then told me that I had to wait for someone else to finish it bc her "appointment" came through the door. As I was ready to walk out, I was asked why I didn't tip the girl who started my pedicure? Are you serious? Plus, they have all of these cameras around the salon watching you. My friend and I decided that we would treat ourselves to a pedicure so I yelped around and found Bensalem Nails. Even though this place had good reviews I had to try it myself and I'm glad that I did! We came around 6 on a tuesday evening and we were greeted immediately. We went on to pick a color. We were really indecisive with picking our color however, the ladies didn't rush us one at all, which I appreciated. We both sat down and the water was perfect. Throughout the whole pedicure she took her time and made she I was relaxed and enjoying my pedicure. This $22 pedicure included your standard routine with the cutting of the cuticles and also a mask and hot stones to make this pedicure even more of an experience than it was. The best part was how cheap it was and how much you got for it! Any girl knows that manis and pedis can get expensive. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

I've been going to a nail salon all the way in Havertown because the one manicurist was the only one that would do my nails with the precision I desired. However, after giving Bensalem Nails a shot, I've never been more satisfied with my nails! I've been there four times, three of which I've made appointments with Lily, the very best! I get an acrylic overlay with gel polish, and Lily keeps my nails thin, shaped beautifully, and the polish lasts for weeks. Not to mention they're very inexpensive: $22 for a refill and gel! I don't think the manicurist I had was licensed. She didn't know what she was doing and another woman sat next to her and told her what to do (i.e. cut all of my cuticles, not just half of them). She wore plastic gloves, which is fine, but they were too big on her and got in the way. She spent less than 10 seconds removing the rough skin on my heels and I had to ask her to finish filing them. She then washed my feet and legs with dollar store hand soap (weird!). I'm willing to give them one more try on the off chance it was just the one girl who was horrible. read more

Love this place! I came here on a whim one time on my lunch hour. I got a manicure, which only cost $10, but it came with so many extras. They removed my old polish, did a parafin dip on my hands, gave me the typical manicure, and while I was drying, massaged my shoulders. It was such a pleasant experience and I've been back many times since. I have short, natural nails, and the polish normally lasts me about 5 days. They also give you a card that they sign everytime you go in. Once you go in 5 times, you get $10 (the price of a manicure) off of your next service. read more

This isn't my 1st choice of nails salons in the area BUT if I need a mani asap for an event or something and I can't make it to my salon of choice that's not really close I will come here. I've gone here a lot of times (I'm talking more than 20 times) the pedicures are nice and relaxing BUT the staff is so loud and constantly talking and yelling to each other that it's impossible to close your eyes and relax and enjoy what's being done and that's really annoying. With that to the side, the gel manis ALWAYS peal just one WEEK after having them done. Now that I'm older I go every other week and I always get gel manicures with crazy designs. I will say that they can get busy in the matter of seconds so call ahead or have enough time to wait for a few minutes. They truly do try their best to accommodate everyone. Very respectful and polite. I always go to Jenny for both waxing and nails. My sister loves Lily and her flare for design. I was passing by and decided to try out a new salon, as the reviews looked pretty good. I walk in, they don't even notice me until I start walking closer to the stations. I wait for about 20 minutes to finally be seated. The man, one of the owners I'm guessing starts doing my nails, while he's cutting my cutie, it does it so hard that my index finger starts to bleed. Fast forward to polish time, he gets up and does some other matter while an older woman (maybe his wife?) goes to paint my nails in the color I brought myself. She does a HORRIBLE job. I wish I was exaggerating. I didn't even notice until I got to my car. It's uneven, and smudged all over my hands and fingers. Mind you I waited 15 min at the dryer thinking I was done. I've been a loyal customer to Bensalem nails for well over 5 years now. When I first started going there, they were absolutely amazing. They did great work. Now it's just a fast paced, rushed, hot mess. Don't get me wrong, they do have some quality nail artist who still do great work, but for the most part, all they care about is moving onto the next customer. For the last year, I have noticed a spiraling downfall of quality and care for the customers. The last few times I have gone, I have left with numerous cuts, that did bleed, on my cuticles, uneven nails and poor color. Their pedicures do not live up to the standard that is written on the options. For example, I got a spa pedicure which is supposed to remove the dead skin. My feet looked exactly the same as they did when I walked in to the place besides the change of toe nail color. The owner runs around like a mad woman, calls you like a dog, and also is probably the worst nail artist in the place. They're overall rude and don't care about your experience. They do accept credit cards but refuse to let you pay with your credit card and force you to use their ATM with a surcharge fee. Sadly, today was my last time going to Bensalem nails after being a loyal customer over the years. I went in with high hopes this time their service and work would be better, but it wasn't. I arrived at 5PM. They were fairly busy, every person had a client, but I was the only one waiting. About 10 minutes after my arrival, another customer came in as one of the artists were finishing, well what do you know, the woman who arrived after me got taken before I did! The artist asked me if I needed to gel color bin and I said no I picked out a color ten minutes ago, she had forgotten I arrived before the other lady, but didn't care, and still took her because he was getting a mani pedi and I was only getting a mani. Then, another customer strolls in. And she gets taken before me too! And she was only getting a pedicure! The only difference was I got completely ignored by the artist. Finally, around 5:30 I got seated. She did an ok job with filling the acrylic and what ever else they do, but of course she cut me and made me bleed like previous times. She starts to put the color on me but it came out clear so she asked if I wanted to change, I said sure she was pointing to the polish bottles but I wanted to see the gel bin again, and she got annoyed with me and first told me no. I insisted so shrugged and got it. The rest of the time was fine. I had just worked a full day, when I go to get my nails done I want to relax and have a pleasant experience, but Bensalem nails does not give that experience anymore. They were the first salon that I found when I moved to the area and I've been a steady customer for several months. I've noticed a big decline in service. No more cards to get a free service after you buy some, no more fortune cookies, and definitely no more friendliness. My last acrylic fill in, the tech cut my nails all the way to my fingertips... most of them anyway.( I wouldn't have tips if I wanted short nails.) This time, I got the owner/manager for my fill in. She yakked on her wireless by earpiece the whole time, left my nails uneven, gave me no hand massage and the topper: when I handed her my debit card, same as every single time I have been there, she said "next time, bring cash". Kiki and Lily are the best! Kiki has been doing my gel nails almost 2 years now and she gives the best massages. They are so friendly and I never feel like I'm being rushed out of there. As for the pedicures the massage chairs are newer compaired to some places I've been to before and their basic pedicure includes foot and calf massage and they use hot stones and steamed towels. The place is very clean and sterile. My girlfriend had gotten married last October and we made an appointment for all of us to have mani/pedis and we didn't have to wait got right in and out. read more

I originally went to this salon several years ago when it first opened. it was TERRIBLE. But i ended up back there in August 2012 only because they were the only nail place open on Sunday. SO GLAD I went and tried it again! I had such a great mani/pedi there! KiKi was referred to me by a woman I knew getting her nails done the same time. Since then I have referred KiKi to 3 other people and they love her! The Spa Pedicure is worth the extra bucks! My dry feet felt fabulous for weeks! I was going to treat my girls to manicures and pedicures and as there were 7 of us, I made sure to call ahead and make an appointment. We arrived 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment time to a VERY full salon. The lady at the register said it would be "5 minutes". FORTY MINUTES LATER, we were still sitting and waiting. Finally, they put 4 of us in the pedicure chairs, only to sit in those, our feet in luke-warm water, for another 20 minutes and wait. The pedicure, once they got around to it, wasn't terrible though a little sloppily done. I also had a very much peeling gel manicure and needed a fresh one. Now, I'm no pro at gel manicures, but I always thought that you were supposed to soak or file them off. The lady started trying to peel up my gel manicure. Not only did it actually hurt, but it's also AWFUL for your nails (which I spent 2 months growing out!). Only after I started strongly protesting did she offer to soak them. The soak did nothing and eventually she ended up filing them off with the electric file (why she couldn't do this to start with and instead insisted on wasting my time, is beyond me!). The only reason I gave this place 2 stars instead of one is that the Gel manicure was actually pretty well done and lasted for quite a while. They also remember the services and nail styles you usually get, which makes you feel special and welcome. The prices are reasonable and you can use a frequent buyer card to get $10 off after a certain number of visits.
