For my car, and my odd beliefs, Shell gas doesn't burn as hard.. and leave my tank as easy as Chevron, so I pulled my ride up.... it was still early on a Saturday night.. 6PM... and they have a ton of pumps. The pumps take card, and as the other person wrote.. no asking for zip codes anymore.. but I haven't encountered that problem for some time.. maybe they got that requirement out of the system. One thing they do need to upgrade is their pumps... as after you take the nozzle from the placement on the pump, you have to lift the device before the pump is going to work, old tech, really, not many gas stations have this anymore. The gas prices are a little higher than the rest of Washington State, but for good reason... it's close to the Canadian border.... if you want cheaper, go South! If you are looking for Shell gas.. right before you head back to the land of the maple leaf... get it before you have to idle for long periods of time waiting to enter Canada, I'll drive by with my Nexus pass.. thank you very much.

They got bread and tasty treats that sell out quick! I LOVEEE the walk in drinks and adult beverages that will dazzle you with choices a beyond ten or twenty - OH MY! Make sure to wander into the Beer Cave (you'll be greeted by a moose overhead--hard to miss and very memorable). The selection is great and the presentation is just plain fun. They also stock Anna's Bread, which is a must--seriously, don't leave without a loaf (you'll thank me later). And yes, there's a Bigfoot out front just waiting for a photo op. If you are in need of gas at night, I would skip this place. Every time I have come at night time…read morethe pumps are always shut off and won't let you pump any gas. It still lets you run your card at the pump and go through the whole process like you are able to, but when you finally pull the trigger nothing happens except it going between 10 to 20 cents and it stops. Then there are the times I have tried going in the morning between 6am to 7am when there is actually someone inside working. I try to get gas and every time the pump is very very slow, if you want to wait around 20 to 30 minutes to fill up your tank then come here. I was curious as to how long it would take and yes you could watch a half hour episode of your favorite show and might not still be done pumping. I went to ask the person inside why it does that and they just stated that it just does that in the mornings. So if it's a known issue why aren't they just fixing it? None of the other gas stations around in the area have these problems.

The dealership found the tank was 1/2 water, 1/2 diesel, and a heavy mixture of silt. The fuel system was completely destroyed. I called Ben's market nearly everyday for weeks and they did not return my calls. Finally, they got back to me and offered me discounted fuel. So I went there in person to try to resolve it face to face where the manager finally agreed to file an insurance claim. The insurance claim was denied because the burden of proving negligence is on me (i.e. I am supposed to spend my free time in there fuel tanks to monitor the quality of fuel). Standard insurance company garbage. So now I'm in a battle costing me nearly $20k involving there insurance company, the State of Washington department of agriculture, the State of Washington Insurance Commissioner, fuel inspectors, two attorneys, expert witnesses, fuel contamination lab testing, and the dealership that repaired the vehicle. Meanwhile everyone I talk to in Whatcom county is stunned this is still dragging on. Bad things happen, I get it... but Ben's Market mishandling of this couldn't be any worse. Buy fuel somewhere else if crossing into Canada. And if you're someone from Ben's Market reading this... check out these super awesome photos of your 1/2 water, 1/2 diesel, mud & silt. But seriously, consider yourself lucky it wasn't a rig engine that was destroyed. Oh and by the way, you owe me $16,932.17

But this gas station is one of the stations just before crossing the boarder to USA. So of course, lot of Canadians fill up before crossing. Also, this station is quite big. Lots of pumps. Twice the size of the usual gas station. Guess they get lots of businesses.

Definitely an indicator the employees don't care. The stuff was cracking under my shoes. I did vacuum the mats when I got home since I did track some into my vehicle. This location of Chevron definitely tops the list as one of the dirtiest stations I've been at. The Chevron located on H St is much cleaner.
