He is a recent rescue in our lives with a traumatic past and Maddy was very understanding. They are so wonderful with Precious. They are gentle, talk sweet to her and she can feel the good energy and intentions that they have. They suggested a kitten program that runs my client about $77 a month for 12 months where it includes the spay and the check ups (only) at no additional cost. It sounded great! So I decided I would schedule Sophie an appointment since I needed to get her spayed... except Sophie was about a month past the age limit on their kitten program and they didn't offer any other program where I could pay monthly for similar services. I ended up canceling my appointment here at Bandfield inside Petsmart. After Precious was spayed, the medication they suggest (anti-inflammatory meds) IS NOT included for the monthly price. Flea medication IS NOT included in the monthly price, either... and when she vomited 2 days after her spay appointment, they offered to do a check-up which IS included in the monthly price, but if she needed blood work, that IS NOT included in the monthly price... So.... after seeing what was NOT INCLUDED with this monthly price of a year long commitment... I'm glad my Sophie did not qualify for the Petsmart/Bandfield program. I got Sophie spayed elsewhere and I don't have a monthly cost. I have access to cheaper flea medication. If she needs a check up, the cost is cheaper than the monthly payments my client is paying, as well as other services at adorable pricing. In my opinion, this year long of a monthly price commitment is not worth paying for when the same services are offered elsewhere for a much better price.

I have been going to this specific Petfood Express for almost 15 years…read more I won't be going there anymore. Over the last couple of years pet food express continues to change their policies about returns, etc. It used to be that if your animal didn't like a product, or it was not working them, you could return it and either get a refund or choose something else. Now they have a 30 day limit to doing that which changed sometime in the recent past. And a few weeks ago, I purchased something for my little dog that was supposed to be helpful for his teeth and instead it got stuck in his teeth, and it was very traumatic for him as well as for me, as well as dangerous to try to get it out of his mouth when he was freaking out. So I returned the item and was told that because the item was opened I don't get my money back. Thus another new rule. I had a receipt as well. In every other store if you have a receipt and there's a problem you get a refund. Not only that, but the girl who informed me that this has been the policy, which is actually not been a policy very long, was rude to me. It's very clear that petfood express is more concerned about the bottom line than providing excellent service and excellent products anymore. As a result, I will not be shopping there anymore. The inside is very big and spacious, but you are immediately hit in the face with a very pungent smell when you enter. I'm not really sure what the smell was exactly, but we got used to it pretty quickly. We were greeted by a very nice gentleman with vibrant green hair who was very knowledgeable and helpful. He let me know some of the items I would need and which products were the best. We walked around a bit and checked out all of the critters - from snakes, to different types of lizards, to scorpions, tarantulas and even cockroaches! My daughter settled on a very cute 3-4 month old Bearded Dragon that we took home along with some essentials like a rock cave, fake plant, water and food dishes and even some Mealworms and Silkworms! The Serpentarium offers lots of different meal options for your critters as well - which is nice to know that it is a one stop shop! They carry the best brands for all of your tank needs as well. We were helped by another employee once it was time to check out and she was also very friendly and knowledgeable. The Serpentarium staff made me feel very comfortable with my purchase and answered all of my annoying questions with ease which I really appreciated. The Serpentarium will also take any surrendered reptiles as long as it is during operating hours which is nice to know that people have an option if they have no other choice. We have been coming to this bird shop for years and have always had a good experience, which makes…read morewhat happened on September 13, 2026, at around 2:00 PM especially disappointing. We brought our two cockatiels in for nail trims. The first bird's trim went fine. Unfortunately, the experience with our second cockatiel was very different. Multiple nails were cut to the point of bleeding, and the bleeding continued even after styptic powder was applied. What concerned us even more was how distracted the two employees appeared to be during the trim. The person doing the nail trimming was new, and the woman holding our bird was also new. While they were handling our cockatiel, they were carrying on a conversation with another customer who was discussing personal issues with her teenage son. From our perspective, their attention did not seem fully focused on our bird during a procedure that requires care and precision. Our cockatiel was shaking heavily afterward and appeared extremely stressed and traumatized. He looked sweaty and was being held in a way that made us very uncomfortable. Watching our bird bleed from multiple nails while he was visibly distressed was heartbreaking. We were also told that we should have requested filing instead of trimming because his veins were too close to the quick. If that was a concern, we feel it should have been identified and discussed before proceeding with the trim, not after multiple nails had already been cut and were bleeding. What was most disappointing was that we did not receive an apology or what felt like an appropriate acknowledgment of what had happened. The employee did offer to only charge us for one bird and ultimately charged us $10, which we appreciated, but that did not change the experience. We were also told that if our cockatiel did not get better, we could bring him back the next day. Honestly, after what happened, why would we bring him back? If our bird does not recover from this experience, our next step would be taking him to an avian veterinarian. To give an update of my boy, he's been very exhausted. He's barely eating! We understand that accidents can happen, but our birds are family to us. We trusted this shop because we have been coming here for years, and this experience seriously damaged that trust. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this shop for nail trims based on our experience.

I waited too long and had such a small window, but Shell squeezed him into her insanely busy schedule just simply out of the kindness of her heart. When I picked him up he looked incredible, easily one of the best grooms he's ever had in nine years. Then, when I went to pay, she told me she was covering the entire visit. I tried to argue, I was so determined to pay and tip her big, but she wouldn't budge. She just said, 'You have enough going on.' I completely broke down crying right there. I've told this story to so many people this week and I cry every single time, watching them tear up too. *Shell, your talent is amazing, but your kindness and compassion is what I'll never forget. One thing I've always appreciated is how they keep their animals. The aquariums with fish available for purchase are consistently clean and have plenty of plants, hiding spots, and enrichment. I've purchased fish here over the years and have never brought one home that had health issues. It's clear they take pride not only in their store, but in the care and environments they provide for their animals. After more than a decade of shopping here, I genuinely trust Aquarium Depot with my aquarium and reptile care.
