How Sad!!!!!! We used this service two years ago when we moved our piano from one house to our current and it only cost us $346 We are now moving back within one exit of our previous house... Virtually the same area and I was quoted $800 today! Say what!?!? Crazy thing is, I want to say this quote is for the same move but actually, it's "easier" because when these guys originally moved the piano out of our previous house, it was quite tricky to maneuver, however this time, it will be very very easy as it's all ground level/concrete going straight into a recording studio. When I found the original receipt and sent it to them, the price magically dropped from $800 to $500... Hmmmmm? I got the typical... "Let me check with the Boss..." How sad... This would have been our third time using this service... The first time was when I purchased a piano used and they moved it to our house for only $200... From $200 to $350 to $800!?! See the photos below... Pretty unbelievable they would treat a return customer this way, when I am virtually hiring them to do the exact same move if not a bit easier only 22 months later... Get this! He said, "rates go up...." I'd by that... Maybe $50 even $75, but not over double!!!!? Well, rates go up and so do pictures and reviews... Use a different service!!!!! There's plenty of them in the area!! You'll get ripped off from Benny's for sure!! Just look at the pics... The truth is in the pics! Then, they hit us up with a rebuttal sayin I'm threatening and hiding texts? Post them? Since you wouldn't because you're now lying.... We did!! You are cheating people and then lying in writing... Choosing a piano mover can be daunting, I get it. The piano store I purchase my Baldwin L from selected Benny's. They use them consistently. It so happens, I sold my grand piano at the same time and Benny's was also the mover. I received a call from Luis the day my piano was scheduled for delivery and provided an estimate time of arrival. Luis and Roberto arrived on time and had the task of packing my grand piano, loading it on the truck and unloading the grand piano I purchased. I did have some skepticism how this would be managed, but these guys were fantastic! They were quick without being ignorant of the product they were handling and very professional. I recently hired Benny's Piano Movers to move my piano. When it arrived at my new apartment, there were distinct scratches that have RUINED the value of my piano. When I contacted them and pressed for insurance, as I understand there can always be honest mistakes, they informed that they DID NOT HAVE INSURANCE and would not pay for the damages. How can a company moving such valuable furniture not be insured? So I indirectly worked with this moving company through Hollywood Piano. I sold my piano on consignment and these were the guys sent to pick it up from my house. Luckily I didn't have to pay any of my own money for this service; it was definitely not a good experience and if I could have picked my own company I certainly would not have gone with these guys. I had my pick-up date all set up for a Tuesday afternoon...then at 8 pm on the Sunday night before some guy calls me, in barely coherent English, asking me if I can push the pick-up date to Friday afternoon. I tell him no, I'm busy, so he asks if he can come on Monday afternoon. As in the very next day. I say that's fine. Then on Monday morning I get a call from some other guy who can speak English slightly better, asking me if I can push the pick-up date to 1 hour from the time of call (which was about 8:30 am). So he wants to come at 9:30 am on a Monday. Well thank God I was free, so I say yes. He's very appreciative, which was nice. So the guys arrive, they walk up the stairs and start moving my piano. Things are going okay as they walk the piano to the top of the stairs. Then as they try to take it down the stairs all hell breaks loose. They're talking in Spanish in high-stress mode, and I can't help but watch from the sidelines. I hear a lot of clattering and slamming. I see my piano turned 90 degrees to the side, the lid is open to the keyboard, and the key cover is on the ground. They pick up the key cover from the floor and put it back on the keyboard. As they're leaving the front door I walk over to the staircase and see a freaking huge gouge they left in the wall when they were moving the piano. I'm standing at the top of the stairs and the main guy comes over and says he's all done. It takes him 3 full minutes of stalling to finally admit "Oh, I guess we made a little scratch in the wall. It's not a big deal though. Sorry." Excuse me? As a renter, a big gouge in the wall is not something I want to have to explain to the owner. And you weren't even going to tell me, other than that I had the foresight to stand there and watch your guys as you worked to make sure nothing WORSE happened to my house! Overall, not a good experience. It was extremely rushed and stressful, but the shadiness of the whole thing was what really set me off. I hope the owner of this company will teach his employees a little more honesty goes a long way with your customers. read more
