I had seen good reviews of Bennets Creek, but I also saw some reviews saying they only care about money. I was going to take that with a grain of salt and take my dogs here because the good seemed to outweigh the bad...I called and will be taking my business elsewhere. I want a vet who will prioritize the care of my dogs equally with those who board with them. When I called, they said they were booked through next month, so I told them that I'm new to the area, we're traveling soon, and one of my dogs needs her rabies vaccine so we can board her and asked if they could do the vaccine appt first before our trip then the new patient appts after. I was told that if I board with Bennets Creek Home Away From Home, they could get my dogs in for an appointment a lot sooner. So it would appear that they do have earlier appointments, I just have to give them more money and board my dogs with them in order to get quality and timely treatment. I've never seen a vet clinic with this policy, and I find it abhorrent. I was simply told "that's the policy." I'd rather not take my dogs to a clinic that clearly won't prioritize them. read more

The doctor was helpful and fine. The facility is clean and the staff was friendly enough. The prices though are insane! We needed a health certificate for our pet. We are moving to Guam and have a layover in Korea and Bennet Creek convinced us that we needed a health certificate for Korea AND Guam. If we just did Guam it would have been $165 (which is still the highest price I've seen) and done that day. The international health certificate was $390 PLUS $90 for shipping? We needed the shipping overnight and it's been 3 days and the package hasn't even been picked up yet. I called Korean Air afterwards and they said layovers don't require additional health certificates. Additionally, the international certification would work for Guam too. So they made us pay for two for absolutely no reason. GREAT! Firmly believe Bennet creek just wanted an extra $500 for checking my dog's heart rate and spiking mine. After the front desk was entirely unhelpful today I couldn't not review. Please take this as a warning if you don't have money to throw away please go somewhere else. It's gross how they're exploiting pet parents who just want to keep their pet safe. Bennett Creek, please reevaluate your morals and get some training for that front desk staff. I was on the phone forever and left with more questions than answers. read more

This review is a long time coming...my intention is not to harm this clinic. Everyone here is wonderful, but I must address the elephant in the room. A few years ago I brought my pup in with 'tummy issues and possible allergies' and saw Dr. Richie. His 'professional opinion' was to throw Purina diet at him and if he did not want to eat it, tough. He said that eventually if he was hungry enough, he would eat. This is the type of advice conventional veterinary medicine stands behind. It is concerning, appalling, horrible way of treating a client. Feed him an ULTRA PROCESSED diet and manipulate him with hunger until he has no other choice, but to eat. He also said my pup was overweight...he was right about that part. He had no concern to find the root of the problem, microbiome test or suggest pre/probiotics, whole foods that will treat most health concerns/disease. Why? Conventional vets are not taught much about nutrition, as the big pet foods fund their schools and/or clinics. Nobody wonders why so many pets die of cancer and suffer so many other medical issues. I left the clinic, ignored everything Dr. Richie told me and ran! I started reading and researching proven scientific studies on all the issues my pup was suffering from and started feeding fresh food (with some raw) and my pup started to THRIVE! He has never been better and his weight is ideal. My point is to urge this clinic to re-think the way you approach the same way of doing veterinary care. Clients walk in to that IMPRESSIVE reception area and we are hit with shelves full of Purina bags paraded all over. Very alarming and disappointing. This is the worst food you can feed a dog/cat! Brown pellets in a bag filled with Advanced Glycation End (AGEs) products, synthetics, preservatives (such as Ethoxyquin), etc. - all of which cause cancer...and everyone wonders WHY their pets are dying of cancer or other diseases. Please offer titer tests before over-vaccinating our pets. During that visit I also vaccinated my pet (for the last time) with Leptospirosis. This is what happens when we put all our trust in veterinarians without doing our own research. There is absolutely NO REASON to vaccinate my pup with Leptospirosis when he is NOT at risk based on his environment. This is not a core vaccine, not necessary if there is no risk. Lepto is also 100% treatable and the vaccine has just a few strains out of the possible hundreds of strains! Science research has also reported that giving the live lepto vaccine can also pose a risk of transmittal to humans with compromised immune systems. I am not here to convince people on what to do...just please, TALK to your clients and educate them so they can make the best decision for their pets! Also, clinics that neuter/spay on demand only to see dogs in the future deal with mobility issues due to the lack of testosterone. Why not offer alternative sterilization techniques that accomplish the same thing without the detrimental effects??? We count on you! Pet parents are becoming more aware of the lie and horrors in the pet food industry. Our pets are our family, our babies, they are 'not just dogs' or 'cats', etc. We want the best for them and NEED a vet clinic that stays aware of these issues and join the veterinarians that are pushing 'longevity' and pet health and nutrition! Principles outlined in books like 'The Forever Dog'. I love and support all our vets that have given their lives to take care of the most vulnerable creatures in our world, but we need it to be done smartly. You do not have to have a veterinary degree to read the latest and greatest research. Some clinics have left pet parents no other choice, but to find other ways, search out integrative veterinary practices (none in this area), or to do other extensive research. I hope the clinic reads my review with an open heart and mind. I want to support a clinic that supports my baby! The world is in serious need of these veterinary clinics that are starting to question 'business as usual' when it comes to veterinary care. read more

I have only had 2 visits so far and found the staff to be friendly and very knowledgeable - both the Vet and Techs. My pup is smart, loveable and friendly but does NOT want to be restrained in anyway, so this becomes a challenge when it's time to do exams and/or draw blood. Dr. Wickman suggested a mild sedative and a return visit in order to complete his exam. It worked well, and best part is that our pup remembered him and his staff and greeted them with a whole lotta love. So far, so good.....I'm thinking my rating will go up a notch with future visits. read more

I booked an appointment on 22 July for my new puppy and the earliest they had was 23 Aug. I was told I needed to complete the new patient paperwork no later than 16 Aug or my apt would be cancelled. Then I got 5 more text messages, all in capital letters, saying the same thing. I don't know why they felt they had to keep texting me, but I put the due date on my calendar. On the morning of 16 Aug, at 7:02 am, they texted to say the appointment was cancelled because I had not submitted paperwork. This was BEFORE the paperwork was even due. I completed the paperwork anyway and emailed to say I was frustrated because I wasn't late. I also said that I wanted to make sure the appointment was still on. They said it was not. Even though they made the mistake, they now feel we will have a 'bad relationship' starting off since I had emailed to complain. Now my puppy has to wait 2 more weeks for her shots for another vet appointment someplace else on top of the month she has already waited. This clinic does not appear to care about animals or customer service. I don't want to go there now anyway, but they refuse to even apologize even though they admit they got my paperwork on time. If they can't apologize over such a simple and documented mistake, I would be concerned what lengths the team would go to in order to cover up a mistake in medical care. I don't trust a person who can't apologize. If they won't apologize when we all know for a fact that they made an error, are they going to self-admit to an error in dosing, etc. I don't know about? In the end I feel lucky that this happened. I very rarely write reviews but felt people should know. According to the office manager, both herself and Dr. Johnson were involved in the decision. It's really a shame when people can't apologize and work things out. read more

Most of the time I love this veterinarian hospital. The staff and doctors are very friendly. Today is ridiculous. I knew I was going to be 5 minutes late and I called to let the staff know. It wouldn't have mattered because putting my five minutes into consideration it has been 25 additional minutes and no one has seen me. I mean not even a hello. I've been in the same room with a whining dog (trumpet hates going to the vet, groomers, etc. and we are pushing 30 minutes as i write. I just need a booster shot of the vaccination. I didn't think it would take this long. Saturday is my only day to run errands and had I known it would take this long I wouldn't have done it. If my wait is 45 minutes or longer.... I'm going to leave. At that point I'm going to think they are only going to service me because I complained not because I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance. I love this pet hospital too but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to come back after today. At least someone could have said the doctor is running behind. After a 45 minute wait I decided to leave. I asked the receptionist to print out my services so I could find a new vet. While i was speaking to her another girl came into the room i was in to clean it up. Sooooo I'm thinking....you don't even care that the customer who was in the room just left?!?! Another receptionist went into the back and let them know that I had been waiting for now 50 minutes and was leaving. They apologized and asked if I still wanted to have trumpet seen. I mean yeah... so I wouldn't have completely wasted an hour of my life. I had to wait another 5 minutes for the doctor to come in. She apologized and gave trumpet a shot. It took less than 3 minutes. The worse part of this visit was the excuse they gave me. The nurse told me they had misplaced my chart and that's why they didn't know I was in there waiting. But while I was waiting in the room I heard a nurse talking to another person letting them know that Trumpet was in room 3. They chuckled and laughed about whatever and I waited. read more

I have never seen this place like this before until now. I know my dog was sick before I took my yorkie to the veterinary. But as soon as I walked in I was hit with a price of $299.00. Mind you he was not seen yet, I stated to the girl let's deal with my dog issues. So they took him to the back i don't know what they did. So the doctor came in I start telling him what was going on. With him so he stated it look like the problem then work it self out. So the nurse came back $$$ and stated the Dr. want him to get a technician shot, I sad no my dog is only around the other dog and we have a gated fence. Then she came back and stated that they wanted to run a test on him with his liver I said how much because it was about the dollar with them. I ask how much she showed me to bills 1 . 117.00 and 2. 599.00. Now mind you he knew that my dog was dying. Instead of saying that to me he wanted to get my dog teeth cleaned for $2,000.00 because I asked him the price. At the end my dog of 14 years passed away. I just not happy I felt they were more worried about the money and not the service. I have been taking both dogs to them for over 8 years and we let them go to there home away from home. This office has business practices that are financially predatory against their clients. The office canceled an appointment on me and then sent me a $55 cancelation fee. Why did they cancel? Because I missed an email that contained 7-9 questions. A survey. I missed a survey, so they canceled and fined me. At no point did the office or medical staff think, "Bring your 2 pets in anyway and we'll ask you these 7-9 questions over the phone as you wait for your pet." No. They doubled down on the email survey. Wouldn't budge. Fined me for missing an email. Who does that? read more

This is a big clinic that operates with small clinic service. I recently moved to the area from Atlanta and, full confession, I chose this practice because the owners were UGA grads. But they haven't let me down. Dr. Wichman spent an incredible amount of time examining my pup from head to toe and the visit never felt rushed. We did wait a little bit, but it was well worth it to get a thorough examination, especially since my pup recently had a complex surgery. He took time to answer all my questions and explore my pups needs. Since then, I've needed medication refills and the service was always prompt and helpful. Also, the front desk staff is great and organized. They almost never put me on hold when I call, they check me out right away when I'm done and check me in promptly when I arrive. I started coming to this Vet practice about 5 years ago when I temporarily lived in Carrollton. I live in Norfolk and drive to Suffolk to take my animals here. The front office is always nice and professional in person and on the phone and the open lobby is super clean and smells good. The Vets are knowledgeable and caring and I have never felt like I was rushed. Also, they ( the Drs and Nursing) staff have never been condescending or judgmental. The pricing is online with other large practices. Medicine and animal care is not cheap! I would recommend this practice wholeheartedly. read more

Bennett Creek has a beautiful facility and very nice staff at the day care however they truly have no ethics when it comes to pricing and procedures. They order test and treatments that are not effective or standard practices and they over charge customers for normal medicines and food. I would highly suggest shopping a vet that you can trust. Please note that this previous review was removed and asking for further details. Specifically they recently raised all of their prices for even their most valued and loyal customers. In fact they recommended an $800 laser treatment when in fact the veterinary surgeon at another facility claimed "it was a waste of money and basically snake oil". They also have charged anywhere from 20%-40% higher for prescribed medicines than the open market and give pressure for not buying through them. If you can't trust your vet to take care of your best friend, who can you trust? read more

Great vet service. I have been taking my cat to the location for the last two years. Staff has always been very friendly, however I wish I could say my cat was. I have the friendliest cat that hates going to the vet. Price of initial first visit can be high mainly due to tests they want to take on your pet. I 'had' been going to this vet for a number of years, BUT after they moved to their very expensive building things changed, First off they stopped taking online internet prescriptions by fax, because their 200 percent mark up on meds made sense to them. Their office fees almost 75percent higher then ANY vet in area, and finally, the front desk staff VERY rude(except for one lady) The office mgr a nasty person who acts like she is the owner; the rest of the front staff rude, sarcastic, know it all s, who could care less about the VET owners concerns or cares!! A word about the two owners, they are competent and friendly, though VERY high priced, but most likely have know idea how their unprofessional staff is killing their business. Final straw..... the un educated front staff refused my online order, without explanation, only to be sarcastic a nd Ass^&$#$ 0n phone AND in person. I went in to leave a note for Dr's to call, but the main RUDE, UNFRIENDLY , uneducated person threw note in trash.. This is the best vet office! I had a bad experience at another vet and called Bennetts Creek the next day, explained the situation, and they were so helpful. Michelle, the practice manager, squeezed us in for an appointment the next day and even waved part of the fees. We saw Dr. Andrews and she was fabulous! She sat down on the ground with my dog and he felt so comfortable with her, he rolled right on to his back. Dr. Andrews and Summer were so kind and answered all of my questions. Every person that we met at the practice were so nice and friendly. I am glad that my bad experience at my last vet let me to finding this vet! read more

Poor management and after care. Great facility. Excellent care. High prices. They placed false information on my pets report and it was near impossible to get the false info removed. Management just makes excuses and marginalizes the client. I recently removed my pets from their care and moved to the vet clinic on Langley base. I'm pretty sure Bennetts Creek treat their customers this way because they don't have much competition in the area. I have always loved Bennetts Creek Vet, I came in with my Cat because he was a bit on the thin side. I was told he was to get a physical and a fecal test which together cost about $90. The physician came in and ordered blood work to be done. Not knowing that this was extra as I thought it was routine for a physical. I got my bill and it was $425!!! I left will only advice. Today was my first appointment with BCVC and I had high hopes. I waited three weeks for my appointment despite my dog vomiting often. I answered many text messages and filled out the form and returned it. I did all I was supposed to do. I showed up today and they did not have my records for my last vet. They told me no one would answer the phone. I was told I could not be seen unless I signed a waiver putting my dog in jeopardy of quarantine for 14 days if he bites during exam. I was upset because I have been on pins and needles worrying about my dog up to this appointment, Now they aren't ready for me. I have a loud voice and the ladies kept telling me to not yell at them and I keep saying I am not yelling I am scared for my dog. They told me I had to leave and then called the police after I left because I called them bitches. You created the problem, escalated the problem and then went full nuclear Karen with the cops. I am glad my dog isn't being seen here, you guys are crazy!!! PS: I called my last vet after getting home and had records in 3 minutes. Way to make a mess and not help a sick dog. read more

I've been taking my cocker spaniel prince to see Dr. Wichman since my boy was 8 weeks old. He really cares. He knows the love I have for my baby and he is also gentle caring patient and hands-on. He is also caring yet firm and honest with prince's human mom. Every time we see Dr. Wichman he gets down on prince's level. He calms prince down while discussing any issues I might have. Prince is now 5 years old and we added 3 more cockers to the family...but unfortunately the oldest one chance died..the staff made me a paw print in plaster. The staff is just as caring and special..I couldn't recommend them more. They are the best..thank you one and all some of us really need you to help us care for our sweet babies.... read more
