Great, kid friendly beach with *real* sand, not very pebble-y and with nice waves, where you can almost convince yourself you're on one of the coasts. Unfortunately we couldn't swim due to water conditions, but was a very nice time still. Great for kayaking and short sandy trails to walk on. Swimming is allowed when lifeguard is on duty, and dependent on water sanitation conditions (which gets updated on a daily basis around 11 am). Minus 1 star for having no shower facilities - you will track some sand into your car & home. Restrooms are also located a 5-7 mins walk away from the beach, near the parking lot, making it hard to make an adult only trip while leaving kids unattended.

"So bring me two piña coladas, one for each hand." -Garth Brooks ************************************** Actually the beach is clearly and plentifully marked with signs that say no alcohol which overall I appreciate. The rule is actually enforced by a beach cruiser that drives around, keeping obnoxious beach rats to a minimum. There is not much to say that has not already been said in the other reviews. The only negative experience I had here was when I was next to some people playing rap music on a little speaker. I gathered up my things and walked over to them, "Look, I'm going to move down the beach but I just want you to know its really rude to blast your music while there's clearly a bunch of people surrounding you trying to relax." I got a "sorry man" and headed further down the beach. That's one of the things I love about this beach is that there is space for those who would rather be away from the crowd. After crossing the footbridge leading to the beach, there is actually a narrow trail that leads along an inlet to this less populated portion. As already mentioned, the abundance of actual sand is what sets this beach apart from other beaches. Yes, it's a good bit further down the lake than Woodlawn but what you pay for in gas is easily outweighed by free parking, less people, and a place that actually feels like a beach.

Worth the extra 15 minutes in the car! Private parking lot with free parking and bathroom on site! Bennett is less crowded then Woodlawn so it's great to bring kids or if you are just looking for a quiet relaxing beach day They do have lifeguards on duty and the sand is well kept It's surrounded by beautiful dunes and foliage. Very pretty and serene

The lifeguard swimming area is tiny and the guards were adamant that anyone in the water had to be in that area (rightly so).

PROS: - There is no lifeguard and no swimming allowed, which means it's mostly child-free and thus has a much calmer environment than other area beaches. - I've visited twice (each on a weekday) during COVID and it's been not crowded and easy to socially-distance from the few other folks. - Immaculate bathrooms easily accessible from the beach. - Close, ample, and free parking. CONS: - More rocks than sand. if you're going to relax and watch the water, simply bring a camp chair and that won't matter. The rocks are really pretty, too! - No swimming allowed, so if you're looking to take a dip, head elsewhere. - Very little, if any, shade on the beach itself. Bring an umbrella.

Overall though, this park sits mostly empty. The property was formally owned by the Wendt family, but the county has not maintained the house, guest house, and stables. They are all Boarded up and painted white. I think in the 60s or 70s a restaurant operated in the main house. People come to this park for the quiet beach access. Between a cut in a hill, you can access the beach. It has twigs and stones scattered about. It's certainly not maintained or swept with a tractor. If there were any recommendation, it would be to sweep this beach with a tractor regularly, I think the park would really generate a lot more visitors. The bathrooms were in great condition and very clean. There is a mural on the exterior bathroom wall. And, this year, the county's bike-hike trail was entered through the park. You could travel to Bennett beach from there by using the trail. There are picnic benches. I was there recently where a small birthday party was held.

Crystal beach is one of my favourite beach in Ontario!…read more Pros: Crystal clear water Water is not too cold Clean beach Soft fine sand Shallow water even as you go further in Calm waters Clean washroom Cute restaurants around the area Nice playground for kids Family oriented Ice cream shops for the kiddies Cons: Parking is so expensive at $15 to park all day. Used to be $10 precovid. To get in admission it's $10 per person it used to be $5 pre-Covid. This can get expensive with a large family Gets pretty busy in the summer time Smaller beach compared to the other ones in Ontario Restaurants are about a 5-10mins walk away so it's best to bring your own lunch and a cooler of drinks with snacks If you're looking for a clean beach and don't mind paying for the parking and admission this is the beach for you. I took one star off for the parking and admission. Otherwise 5 stars all the way!

I think charging for entrance is ridiculous. Washrooms is very limited and everyone has to wait in line to change and wash their legs. Families washroom is dirty and smelly. I would think since there is a charged for entrance the facilities provided would be better than other beaches.Living in Toronto and driving down 2 hrs to see this is definately NOT WORTH IT....might as well go to beach that is free, you get the same feeling plus save money. Highly NOT recommended !!!

There are also lessons available for kiteboarding. They will make sure you are covered if you want to enjoy some active time when you are at the beach. I was lucky to come across this awesome business through a local event, Paddle through the Past for the Town of Evans Bicentennial. Lake Erie Watersports partnered with the Town of Evans for the event and donated some equipment rentals so people could participate. I greatly appreciated this because I myself don't own a stand up paddle board. I also admire a business owner who shares what they have and what they love with their community. Kris, the owner was very friendly and helpful. It was easy to arrange my rental and get the details of what I needed to do from her. She attended the event and was also a participant. This was my first time paddle boarding at 18 mile creek and I didn't realize it would be different than going in the lake. It was obvious she was the expert and gave some great tips on how to navigate through the creek because some areas are more shallow than others. If you want to try stand up paddle boarding it might be easier to learn in the creek if it's deep enough. The lake can get too rough quickly and it can be frustrating if you can't get up at first. You can park at Lake Erie Watersports or they can deliver your rentals to you. Your location must be within 10 miles of Angola. I highly recommend them for your summer outdoor rental needs!
