This is an outstanding youth program that teaches strong values, emphasizes using common sense before resorting to self-defense, and has done wonders for building confidence in shy children like my grandson Jimmy. They hold kids to a high standard of respect and won't allow them to advance unless they also receive positive reports from their school teachers. Bennati's karate studio is amazing!! The Sensei's are skilled and extremely friendly. The studio is large and very clean and the students and families are welcoming. My two sons, ages 13 & 16, have been training here for 1.5 years and it has helped to transform them as young men. When they first started they were quiet and lacking in confidence. Now they train hard and are physically and mentally fit. They are challenged and taught respect, self control and responsibility every step of the way, while learning karate. My son and I have trained with Master Bennati for 10 years or so. Because of Master Bennati's masterful way of teaching and his enthusiasm we are still engaged, still learning and loving our karate training. My son was just around 7 when he started and is now 17. He is loving it more and more as the years go by. How many sports can you say that about? Ok, so the benefits of karate training at Bennati's...It's an excellent workout for the body, but more so the mind. Focus development is HUGE! Nothing we have tried has helped us develop focus like karate has (we both have ADD) and nothing has been better for my stress. To leave the worries behind and just focus on my karate during class is the best - after class, my worries seem to disappear. We have also gained confidence in knowing we can defend ourselves if need be. We have become more coordinated and flexible. Also, we have gained a better understanding of the karate way - to be respectful, courteous, humble, patient and brave. Something else great about Bennati's is the people. So willing to help one another and help their dojo. We enjoy other events throughout the year together besides just training on the mat. There's the annual Halloween party, BBQ bash at Regional Park, dojo camping trips and lots of events for kids like movie nights and nerf wars. Bennati's has been awesome for my 4 year old son in the Tiny Tigers class. It helps to reinforce all the positive behaviors we're trying to teach him. He had to "earn" his white belt by doing 4 things at home for the week: 1. Look people in the eyes when they're talking 2. Put his toys away after playing with them 3.
