Subject: Concern Regarding Insurance Verification Issue on October 7th appointment, Premier…read moreDermatology, Yorkville, IL. Dear Premier Dermatology Management, I have been a long-time patient of Premier Dermatology, previously under the care of Dr. McCloskey, and have always appreciated the quality of care your office provides. In the past, I have used the same insurance company for every office visit I have come for. At my most recent visit on October 7th, I was informed by the receptionist that my insurance had expired after she checked an online portal. I immediately contacted my insurance provider, who confirmed that my coverage is active and has not expired and they explained that the online portal is incorrect and the office needs to call directly to confirm coverage. I returned to the office to explain what my insurance company had told me to the receptionist and pointed out that my insurance card specifically states that providers should call the insurance company directly for verification, as Federal/Union plans, per my insurance company, are often not reflected accurately in the online portal. Despite this, the receptionist declined to contact my insurer and would not offer an alternative way to resolve the issue. When I requested to speak with a manager, I was told no manager was available. The receptionist then told me she would have a person from her office call me the next day regarding the insurance issue. I never received this call. I am disappointed by how this situation was handled, as I took all appropriate steps to verify my insurance even offering to call them myself and was still unable to receive care. I respectfully ask that you review this incident and provide clarification on how such matters are handled in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. Susan Galles

I called four times in a span of 6 days. Also sent a message on the portal, it wasn't sent til the 6th day when I called and spoke to a human- and requested a manager call me. A year ago, during a routine checkup Dr Kappleman said to me that she wanted to biopsy a very small mark below my left ear... during this appointment l told her that was leaving for Florida in a few days... On the very day that we left for Florida driving, Dr Kappleman called me and said that what she expected was true ... that small mark ended up being melanoma... I responded with l will check back with you when l get back home in two months.., Dr Kappleman said, " No it doesn't work that way. You need to be seen immediately!" She then said that she remembered that l was going to Sarasota so she looked up a dermatologist there and made an appointment for me later that week. The dermatologist in Sarasota cut away the melanoma and upon my follow up said to me " l am very impressed your doctor picked this up at this early stage." Dr Kappleman was and is a lifesaver for me.

Eleven minutes passed and the phone hung up on me. I then called right back and did the text appointment option. Mind you I am a brand new patient trying to make an initial exam appointment. I sent the text. I got a reply from I believe AI. I explained what I needed to the AI via text ( unusual at best). I initially thought humans would answer. 48 hours later, NO REPLY. So I sent a text, "NO wonder you have such bad reviews, it's been 48 hours since I asked for a callback. This all happened on Monday. Today is Friday. This office doesn't care AT ALL in the least if you called, left a message or want to make an appointment. That's my opinion and I haven't stepped foot in the office nor spoken with a human!! Good luck!

The name Yorkville Medical Clinic is a little misleading if you were looking for a selection of…read moredoctors, but nevertheless, Dr. Yang does a good job at being the primary care physician for many Yorkville residents. His office is very clean and visually appealing for those who are looking for a good environment. There are quite a few medical assistants working there. Many of them are very friendly, but some of them seem like they couldn't care less about their jobs (or the patients). Dr. Yang himself is very nice and welcoming, but he may not always get right to the point, if at all. If you have a concern that hasn't been brought up, don't wait for him to uncover it. Be very specific about what you want to know, or else risk never getting an answer. There usually isn't much of a wait if you call to make an appointment on short notice. Often, you'll be able to see him same day, sometimes even within the hour. The waiting room seats 6-8 or so people with an average of 3-4 occupying it at any given time, though there are busy days that leave you standing instead. The wait to get called back can take anywhere from 5-20 minutes, and after your vitals are recorded, the wait to see Dr. Yang is about the same. He's quite professional and can also perform certain dermatological procedures in addition to routine medical ones, such as EKGs and ultrasounds. He's pretty much a one-stop spot for most of your medical needs, and he can usually refer you to a specialist if needed. He's usually pretty good for getting notes for school or work, unless you keep coming to him for them on a routine basis. In most cases, he prescribes the right medications for whatever is affecting you, but other times you may wonder what it's actually for. If you have a specific medical issue that you're seeking treatment for, you'll probably want to see a specialist instead, if possible. All in all, he's a good primary care physician for the basics. No major complaints. Pros: nice environment, friendly, can perform quite a few different procedures and tests, accepts All Kids/Medicaid, easy to see on short notice, not usually crowded, usually short wait times Cons: doesn't give much explanation, may seem a little preachy, a few unlikeable med assistants, better to see a specialist whenever possible, doesn't always seem like he knows what he's talking about

I left my last doctor because they stopped honoring the annual visit!. After confirming two different times, I went for my appointment! They removed a small spot on my toe! I got the bills I was charged for the office visit that wasn't supposed to be on there. There was also a charge for two surgeries- not sure what that second charge was. I have called over 10 times and driven back there twice to try to speak to an office manager. They will not let me talk in person and told me to call! They have called me many times to schedule to redo the margins on what they removed and I have explained to everyone of them I'd like to speak to someone about my bill! They had an employee meeting about people being told their office visit was included and were supposed to call me back after that and never did! Someone is telling us incorrect things when we call and make the appointment and come there and they are not willing to make that good! I just called again today and got disconnected when they were trying to connect me to some Chris they said is the office manager! They say somebody will call me back! The office manager has supposedly gotten over a dozen messages between me calling them, them calling me to schedule another appointment and me going in there to call me back and I have never heard back yet. They sent one of my bills to collections! Horrible management at this place! I would definitely not recommend! I have spent hours trying to fix their mistakes! If I ever hear back from them and get this resolved, I will be happy to update this! Super frustrating I have spent hours trying to correct their mistake! my mom also had problems with them, but hers was Medicare and after a few months of going back-and-forth, they finally corrected her Bill!
