I don't write reviews lightly, but my experience with Fillmore Spencer was deeply disappointing…read more My wife and I cared for my grandfather in his home for over a decade. During a critical court case involving his situation, the firm failed to appear at the scheduled hearing. I had to call the attorney myself to ask where they were. When they finally arrived, they were completely unprepared. As a result of how the case was handled, my grandfather was ultimately forced to leave his home and move into a retirement facility, where he later passed away. Although Randy later took over the matter and refunded our payment, the damage had already been done. I also retained the firm for a separate criminal matter. I was advised to plead no contest and was told that after five years the record could simply be expunged. When the time came to pursue expungement, I was told they would contact the city prosecutor. Months passed with no updates. My emails went unanswered, and my calls were not returned. Eventually, the attorney handling my case left the firm and apparently did not transfer any meaningful information. Afterward, I was charged again to continue the expungement process, only to be told a week later that there was nothing they could do. No meaningful follow-up was made, and even a simple call to the prosecutor's office was declined. While they offered to refund the second charge, that does not compensate for the wasted time, lack of communication, or the consequences of the legal advice I was given regarding the plea. In both matters, I experienced poor communication, lack of preparation, and a failure to follow through. I cannot recommend this firm based on my experience.

He was very responsive, asked the right questions, and kept things moving. He sent a strong letter to the insurer with citations to Utah law and made it clear he was prepared to file a complaint. Randy was efficient and mindful about keeping his billable hours down, and he genuinely focused on making sure we were treated fairly. I'm very grateful for his help and would recommend him without hesitation.

My ex-wife tried to leave the state four separate times and kept trying to bypass court orders. Zack was steady and knew exactly what to do every step of the way. What impressed me most is how well he understands the local judiciary. He knows how the commissioners and judges in Utah County approach things, and that insight made a real difference for us. He shoots straight. He tells you exactly where you stand and what your real options are. No fluff, no false hope. Just honest, solid counsel. He is patient, considerate, and thorough in everything he does. He protected our son and our family through a really hard time and we will always be grateful. If you're looking for a family law attorney in Provo, Zack Starr at Moody Brown Law is the real deal. I'd recommend him to anyone. Zack cares deeply about his clients and about the money they spend. Many times he helped us avoid costly litigation, and I don't think I would have been nearly as lucky if I had had another attorney. My experience would validate that, unfortunately. I will always be thankful for everything this man did for our family .

I'm deeply grateful for her guidance through one of the most difficult chapters of my life--I can't imagine navigating it without her. Shortly after the divorce was finalized, I needed legal help again due to escalating issues with my ex's partner. Her behavior was aggressive and was negatively affecting my children. Grant and his team stepped in with clarity and strength. They advocated for my kids, and helped establish safety and stability for all of us. Over the past seven years, they've remained steady, validating, and genuinely supportive. There aren't enough words to express what their dedication, skill, and compassion have meant to me. In moments that were painful and emotionally overwhelming, their professionalism and care were truly invaluable.

I ultimately paid a $180 fee instead of facing jail time or significant fines. The situation started after I bought a brand new car that was the same make, model, and color as my previous one, just a few years newer. I believed I could transfer my existing plates since they were already registered to me. While taking the new car out, I briefly lost traction for less than a second. I was not speeding. I was pulled over by an officer who immediately escalated the situation and issued multiple citations. Even after I explained that the plates were mine and showed registration for the other vehicle, as well as a purchase receipt to show I was waiting for the title to register it. I was given several tickets for exhibition of speed, using plates from another vehicle, and failure to operate in one lane rather than being informed of the proper DMV process despite the real incident and proof. Matt stepped in and handled everything professionally. He was able to get the charges reduced and protect my license, which I am extremely grateful for. Communication could be improved as his responses were sometimes very delayed, but he did follow up before court and delivered real results when it mattered. If you want someone who knows how to navigate the system and fight for a fair outcome, Matt is absolutely worth it.

During our phone call, he made it sound like he would work with the prosecutor to arrange a deal where the ticket would go away after six months with a small fine. There was no mention of traffic school or that I would need to sign a formal plea-in-abeyance agreement. When he later sent me the plea agreement, I was surprised to see the traffic school requirement included, since that hadn't been discussed. The "small fine" he referred to also turned out to be the standard $280 plea-in-abeyance fee paid directly to the court, which I understand is the same amount I likely would have paid even if I had handled the case myself. Having been through traffic court before and having a clean driving record, I knew this was a very standard deal that I likely could have received on my own by appearing in court. I texted him to let him know that traffic school and signing a plea agreement hadn't been explained beforehand and that this was something I could have handled myself. He didn't respond to those concerns and continued sending the agreement for signature. I eventually signed it, but not happily, because I ended up paying for representation that mainly saved me the trip to the courthouse. My advice: if you have a clean driving record and are comfortable appearing in court yourself, you may be able to get the same outcome without paying attorney fees. This service was really only helpful in avoiding a court appearance.
