Between me and my husband we were scrambling to find someone to come out and fix the issue. Mike was already busy but fit us into his schedule next day so we could have things up and running. Come to find out the connection issue was our roof starting to rot and the tubing had fallen due to builders of the house cutting corners(In my opinion). I'll tell you what, Mike still did the best patch work you could ask for on the fly. He was upfront about everything going on before doing anything. The issue is and was for roofers to come out and fix in the long run. But he got our dryer functional again and made us aware of the bigger issue. All the while I was jugging my one year old around. Everything about the job ended up being a fly by the seat of your pants kind of thing. Even accessing our attic. The price was more than fair, he documented everything, didn't replace anything that didnt need replacing, he came out next day for us, he was honest in his work and gave a good sturdy handshake. Mike will be the first call I make the next time my house needs help.

He is a very poor team player, not returning phone calls or emails, and when he finally got back, was condescending, even rude. After enjoying working with hundreds of contractors, guiding construction on sometimes huge projects over 35 years, I've not experienced such a difficult person. He also had the front yard back-filled completely with sand, no topsoil at all in the beautifully designed front shade garden beds and small lawn clearly shown on the landscape plan. That's idiotic. We have a side door and ledger board that is useless because it is too close to the lot line for us to put our deck. Derrick should have known about this and they should stand by their product. Now they are not getting back to us about how to remedy this problem. Unethical and unprofessional. Don't believe that they want their customers to be satisfied - - they won't even return our emails to get this corrected. Find a different custom builder!
