I've been visiting this place on-and-off for 20 years. It's a great little curry house situated just of the Boldmere high street and as such as popular place for a late meal when you've had a few drinks in the pubs along the main road.
It's also pretty reasonably priced and caters well for vegetarians, should you have any of those in your number. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent: Rice is served to you, for example, which feels, in the relatively recent history of British Curry, like a quaint touch as it's not something you see everywhere these days. I think that's what I like about this place the most - it hasn't changed all that much over the years. If you fancy a simple, well-cooked meal in cheerful surroundings then I recommend it.
The music they play is pretty standard Indian background music that must be on a tape loop. One song sounds like a version of The Irish Rover by The Pogues, so listen out for that. I wonder if Shane MacGowan has eaten here? read more
