I think that the wooden structure of the bridge has been replaced quite recently as it smells like a lumber yard and was nice and bright. The bridge is long-ish, and there is a covered walkway for foot traffic. There's a bit of parking, and you can drive or walk over to a park and small walking trail as well. Not a bad place to stop, but it wasn't as scenic as I had expected. The bathroom was a little scary, but there and free, so just make sure you have wet wipes and go fast.

Someone was fishing off the bridge in there so I guess that's an option if you'd prefer a longer stay. There's a small gift shop that wasn't open when we stopped by. The surrounding park was beautiful. Benches surround the water off the trail in you're interested in stopping to take in the views. The fall colors were stunning in mid November and I felt compelled to walk amongst them, even in the rain.

There is a long stairway from the main street down to the falls. There are areas to stop and rest, it is a long walk down and back up. The falls are very picturesque and it is worth the trip to see them. The water was running pretty fast during my visit. I am sure other times of the year it is much slower.

We are not from the area and we visited Squires Castle on a busy weekend. The place was packed!…read moreEven though there's what seems like ample parking, it was so full when we arrived that it was a little tough to find a spot. Before we came, we read that the castle is a stone ruin from the late 1800s and thought it would be interesting to explore but there was so much going on while we were there, that proved quite difficult to do. There were multiple people and families doing photo shoots in and around the castle... Like professional photo shoots. They had cameramen and lighting. There were lots of children running around and playing and people picnicking on the green space in front. There were just lots of people everywhere. We even saw a bunch of young people doing a full-on LARPing session and sword fighting just adjacent to the castle near the trees. It was really cute. Although we were just there for a short visit on our way, we did see lots of signs for trails and people walking and even though I didn't want to fight the crowds of people, my husband did go up and go inside one of the rooms in the castle and peek out the window at me. There were also benches and tables, but almost all of them were occupied. Like I said, there was a ton of people the day that we decided to stop but that didn't stop us from having a nice time. I'm glad we had a chance to stop here, but I definitely wish it had been quieter and we had had at least a moment to ourselves. I can see from other people's photos that this can be achieved by visiting at the right time, so if you can, I totally suggest stopping and enjoying this cool relic!

This was an adorable little stop for us as the bridge is simple yet significant. There is a nice placard with a lot of information about the bridge and its story, and a tiny Creek still flows underneath. I was surprised by how many other people stopped here to take photos while we were here and everyone was really enjoying themselves. If you like Bridges this is definitely a unique one.

It is a beautiful bridge with a pedestrian bridge down underneath, so you can walk down below or drive over the bridge itself. We parked down at the bottom and there are restrooms and a nice maintained walk to the pedestrian bridge. It's a beautiful site, especially in the fall and there were a lot of families taking photographs at the pedestrian area. Up at the top, many people were looking at the covered bridge and some were even having sunset picnics. Overall a great stop in a nice area.
