First the look of the place, like other city centre shops it seems a bit run down. The Decor can really use some updating. I had a hot wax treatment with Shannon, she is fantastic. I was very happy with this service. They use the Lycon hot wax (no strips) if you request it and it's not painful at all. Shannon is very friendly and very good at what she does. As for nail, the person doing them was very friendly though I didn't feel she was that great. She was just ok. In general they don't seem well setup for nails. If you don't bring your own flip flops you walk around barefoot. There are no large spa sinks for pedicures, they use a small electric foot spa. The foot scrubbing happens as you are sitting in a chair to do this but it's really awkward as you have to life your legs really high. Then you have to somehow climb onto a high massage table for the nail work to take place. When we were done I had to walk barefoot on the now wet floor as I didn't have my flip flops to go wait for my nails to dry. Lots of potential at this place but the setup for nails is just not there. As soon as I walked into the room to waxing, I saw a hair removal strip with hair, where I had to sit down. The hostess asked me to get naked (standing in front of me staring at me. In my opinion a greedy insensitive manager. My husband purchased £50 voucher directly from the store before Xmas so I can be pampered after the birth of our first baby. We travelled to Cambridge and decided to make a night of staying in Cambridge and called to inform them the voucher had been misplaced. My husband called to confirm with them that it's still okay to use and an appointment was booked. I then called a few days before and left several messages to confirm appointment and no answer or no call back. Attended the salon an hour early in error and I was happy to return later for my allotted appointment. However, the manager had informed me the voucher needs to be located but we had already told her it had been misplaced and informed it was okay. I began to feel a bit cheated already and we had put them out. I received a phone call minutes later ronde I left stating the voucher had expired about 4 weeks previously as they r valid for 6months. We apologised and stayed as we had misplaced the voucher we didn't know and was not informed by your member of staff day earliar. After a chat with my husband and I the manager was aggressive and rude talking over me constantly basically saying she's trying to be nice here and accept 50% value of the voucher or nothing. I felt insulted as I already had an hour slot so would not of cost anything. I felt so intimidated over the phone and far from rejuvenated and relaxed. Hardly how U should feel before entering a salon. Having half of what we paid for made me feel cheated. I appreciated she was exercising her discretion but then why not exercise her discretion so we could get what I we paid for as she would not have lost anything. When I visited the salon to cancel appointment . The manager had completely changed her tone..... As there were customers present and was very patronising. How can I feel relaxed and want to be treated there. I was polite throughout and felt this salon could have benefited from An hour lesson in customer service. £50 down the drain. Afterwards the receptionist made me a cup of tea, and chatted with me until I was ready to leave, great experience from start to finish, and am absolutely thrilled with my results.
