I've often ended up with hair shorter than I wanted in the past, but Dani really listened to what I was asking for. She delivered a beautiful long, layered cut that felt true to my goals while still giving my hair shape and movement. Even weeks later, I'm still loving it and constantly happy with how it looks. Stylist took 1.5 hour to put in foils for low light - not a big complicated ask and some of them were so bleached, the toner couldn't correct, I had to ask for them to do another full round of toner. By 3.5 hours I didn't have a hair cut, conditioner or blow out. I asked for roots, lowlights and toner. For a "high brow" space, do not put a single dollar here. I'm a local and I have shamelessly tried it twice shame on me to try them again.

Following is the disappointing experience I had at this salon. I am reaching out regarding the hair services I received at Avalon Salon yesterday. I am accustomed to having my hair cut, washed, dried and flat ironed as one included service. When I came into the salon for a woman's hair trim, I did share with the stylist that I have very curly hair; so she decided it best to cut the hair dry. The hair was washed and she applied a very nice product to the hair prior to drying. The stylist was taking time to section off the hair to straighten with a brush; this seemed odd to me. When I asked if she was going to flat iron the hair, I was informed that is an additional service; and she did not have time to do that on the appointment today. I questioned how she could be sure the hair cut would be good and she said it should be fine as it was cut dry. For the amount of time it takes to section the hair and blow dry each section, to somewhat straighten it; the hair could be quickly dried with the blower and then sectioned off and flat ironed. In addition, this will ensure the cut is good and will not require a revisit to have it corrected. When you have naturally curly hair as I do, blow drying it is not going to straighten the hair enough to ensure the cut is even. The hair will not smooth down without the flatiron. Regarding the stylists use of time, I can do without the neck massage - it is not a service I requested. When I understood the stylist was not going to flat iron the hair, I had her stop drying the hair and threw the hair back into a hair band until I got home. I would have been a puff ball walking out of the salon without the hair being flat ironed; certainly not how your client wants to feel following services at your business. This is a poor reflection on Avalon Salon, and I am honestly surprised you would want a customer to walk out of your salon under these circumstances. It made me feel like I was visiting a Great Clips or Supercuts!

Megan is so good at what she does and during my first install appointment she went into a lot of detail about the whole process. My hair has remained so healthy with my extensions, and I've never had a single issue. Megan even got me lunch and offered me snacks, which was really nice of her! I would definitely recommend going to Megan to get your extensions because she's so professional and welcoming. Megan gave me the mermaid hair I always wanted!
