I had only one physical therapy session at Benchmark before my orthopedist moved me to a more specialized PT clinic after learning of my herniated discs. I was sent to Benchmark for Watkins protocol and lumbar stabilization in order to strengthen my core and lower back muscles. My physical therapist was Amy, who filled in for Kelly, the clinic director. During the approximately one-hour session, Amy performed an evaluation on me, asking me several questions related to my back pain and testing my range of motion and strength of various muscles. She also had me do three exercises, two of which I'd already been doing at home (and coincidentally, learned from the Wii Fit video game). Amy was professional and knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions I had. Benchmark is located in a small strip mall on Windy Hill across from Chick-fil-A. The office is sandwiched between a Starbucks and Panda Express. The inside is a large open space with PT beds and various equipment lined up neatly. The staff is polite and friendly and makes courtesy calls to remind you of your appointment(s). All of my paperwork and insurance was taken care of efficiently. After my one and only session, Benchmark still took the time to send me a handwritten note thanking me for choosing them and wishing me the best going forward. It's too bad I can't continue my PT at this clinic because it's convenient to my workplace. read more

I've been coming to this location for a few months. I had a bad groin, quad, hammy injury and they've been great! What I like is that they really try to figure out the best way to get your healed quickly. If it seems like something isn't working, they will try new ways to assess the problem rather than doing the same thing. My injury will definitely take time but during the first few weeks, they would asses my problems in different ways. At first, the stretches and exercises weren't working so they changed things around. Now I'm going through a little more aggressive therapy and it's been working! The workers are all really great. You really do get to know them on a personal level. They love to chat while they work and are all very friendly, genuine people. Also, when I'm in therapy, I want to understand how it works, so I ask questions, and they are more than happy to explain everything. Voice your concerns if you have any. They are extremely helpful. read more

y therapist Erica was disrespectful, rude and violated my HIPPA rights to privacy, so I left. During my last session, all of sudden she blurted out loud, QUOTE "this is your last session until I can get you approved for more. I asked why and she replied, because you have Ambetter. She went onto say, they're the worst, they never want to approve services. She stated, didn't you know you have Ambetter. They're the worst insurance ever and for some reason they only approved 12 visits." I said, yes I know what insurance I have and I have never had any problems with approvals or payments. My deductible is met. I told her that I did not get stuck with my insurance I chose my insurance based on my needs. Also the reason why they only approved 12 visits is that my referral letter from my primary (if she had looked) only has 12 visits written on it, so they approved 10 and then 2 visits, I didn't appreciate the fact she appeared to be (for some unknown reason) attacking me. Her practice is run like a beauty salon with the therapists gossiping about the different client all day, every day. I came for treatment, not to hear other clients business and gossip about their personal lives all day long. I was polite and respectful the entire time, however I did not appreciate being targeted by Erica, "out of the blue." When I looked at my health insurance online, I have seen where she was paid in full and on time following every treatment. Not certain what her problem was with me, but that location is very unprofessional. She is good at therapy but unprofessional and runs the place like a gossiping beauty salon. I also did not appreciate her allowing a student to conduct my last evaluation. She allowed him to do it while she sat on her laptop asking him, "what does he think, and what does he think my numbers should be. He replied, I am not sure and she stated, it does not matter, just give me a number that you think it should be and I will write it down. He did just that throughout and she wrote everything down he stated exactly. He is a student and should not have been tasked to conduct my evaluation. I was okay with assisting with therapy but I am not okay he completed my evaluation without any/the slightest bit of assistance from Erica. I would not recommend anyone to this location if they wish to be seen in a professional environment. Also, she billed me for 16 visits and I was only treated for 10 visits. I consider that theft of my insurance she so loudly claimed was not any good. read more

My physician at Emory Orthopaedics and Spine Center referred me to Benchmark Physical Therapy for treatment of tennis elbow. Rob and Kelley are the primary physical therapist's at this location. Both are professional and were very knowledgeable about the treatment necessary to relieve the pain and get the strength back in my arm. I was very pleased with the results of the therapy. When treatment was no longer necessary, I felt like I would miss them. That's how great the staff is - very friendly and personable! This location is very close to my work so it was convenient for me to get to and their hours allowed me to go before and during work. read more

I came to Benchmark Physical Therapy to rehabilitate from my shoulder surgery. I enjoyed my many months I came here. Sure it was expensive because my co-pay was pretty high, but I felt like I got my money's worth. Both Rob and Kelly seem to know what they're doing. They were gentle with me in the beginning, since my arm had no mobility and was weak. They gradually improved my arm to near full strength and full range of motion. Like what Alayne H. wrote, I felt like I was leaving my friends and family after I was done with the session. That said, I did feel like I stayed there a bit too long. During my last few weeks, I was doing the exact same exercises I was doing at home. So I didn't see the point of missing work and paying the co-pay to come in and doing the same exercises I was doing at home. It was also fun when they broke the monotony by bringing in cute interns. They were cute because they were obviously inexperienced yet eager and worked hard. It didn't hurt some of those interns were easy on the eyes too (creepy stare). read more

My doctor at Emory gave me a list of recommended PTs and Benchmark was one of them. I chose to get treatment here actually because of reviews on Yelp, which said they treated you like a friend and it was hard to leave. That's the type of environment I wanted and felt most comfortable at, considering I had never done physical therapy before. I received fantastic care through Benchmark Marietta. Dr. Rob and Ricky were the best! (I saw other physical therapists there when Dr. Rob was off and they were equally as good. I just saw Dr. Rob and Ricky the most.) The reason I was in physical therapy was for a couple of old running injuries - my hip/bottom and shin splints. It was so bad sometimes that sleeping on the injured side would cause me to tear up in pain, so I decided it was time to do something about it. Now I'm not going to lie, the first couple of visits were painful. One so much so that it made me think about if I wanted to continue or not, but I kept with it. My doctor estimated it would take between 4 - 6 weeks worth of visits twice a week. When it stretched into 8 weeks, I started to get discouraged. However, Dr. Rob and his assistant, Ricky, helped keep my spirits up. I liked how they gave frequent evaluations throughout the treatment. They'd ask you questions about how you were feeling, how easy/hard certain tasks were and they'd measure your flexibility and strength. They were very thorough. Dr. Rob was very skilled and you could tell he knew what he was doing. And just like the reviews said - they treated me more like family than a patient. We'd laugh, tell jokes, tell each other about our weekends... I had to go into 7am appointments because of my work schedule, which can be rough for anyone, and I actually looked forward to those early mornings. My last visit was this morning - they called it "my graduation day". They even told me to come back and update them on my races and everything else (just hopefully not for injuries, knock on wood). I cried again, but not because of the pain this time - because I didn't want to leave. Not bad for the person who wasn't sure if she wanted to continue at first. read more

I would NEVER recommend Benchmark Physical Therapy to anybody under any circumstances. I had Knee surgery, and let the Windy Hill Location help me with my rehab. While the staff was kind and courteous, they were very hands off. I was essentially given some exercises to do, and was left unsupervised while I did them. I paid $15 dollars for my co-pay each session, and I went for a total of 20 sessions. Therefore, I paid $300 in co-pay, and I just received a call from a Collection Company trying to collect an additional $177. I did not receive any letters or phone calls from Benchmark, I was simply sent to collections. It's unbelievable that anybody should have to come out of pocket $500 dollars for two months of therapy, especially since I HAVE insurance!!! My deductible was met, and I still somehow have to come out of pocket $500 for sub-standard service. This was my third Knee Surgery, and all three have been related to cartilage in my knees. Therefore, I know what good therapy entails. Again, the staff was kind and courteous, but they were far from professionals when it comes to care giving. Now that I'm in collections, I realize that care giving isn't why they opened their doors. I don't expect that they provide services for free, or run a business without the goal of making a profit, but at some point, the patient comes first! If someone has to come out of pocket $500 for less than two months of service, I feel that's far beyond what a normal payment would be. For $500 I could hire a personal trainer who would be with me every step of the way, providing me with the same exercises, and pushing me into overall fitness rather than handing me a sheet, and letting me go... There are plenty of other physical therapists in the Atlanta, and I would recommend any of them over Benchmark!!! read more

Since my first knee replacement, I've had several physical therapists. This is, by far, the best I have encountered. Whenever I asked "Why is that?", Grace would take the time to explain medically what was going on. I could really understand those explanations and it made it easier for me to do something that was counter-intuitive at times. I appreciate that she would take the time to not only explain, but crack the whip when I needed her to do that. BenchMark is the friendliest physical therapy location I have had the misfortune to visit. Everyone there is kind and always takes the time to greet people and ask how they are doing and what they are up to. Ricky, Megan and Rob were very nice and outgoing, too. Resurgeons and Peachtree Orthopedics PT's cannot hold a candle to BenchMark. read more

I became a patient the Windy Hill clinic in late June 2010 as result of a knee injury I sustained in May 2010. At that time, the team of Rob, Ricky and Jessica began to take wonderful care of me. Within a few months, I had made great progress, thanks to the skilled treatment Rob and Ricky where guiding me through. Subsequently, I had surgery at Thanksgiving and returned for post-op care. My schedule preference aligned with Megan's schedule, so she took over primary care for me and also provided amazing care. At the same time, my husband needed PT care for an injury, so the joke became "date mornings" at Benchmark PT. I only tell you all of this to emphasize the point I was a patient at the Windy Hill clinic for about 6 months and my husband was a patient for several weeks. Rob, Megan and Ricky are absolutely, the best with their knowledge, phenomenal approach to focused patient care, ensuring a positive, definitive outcome to our recovery. During this entire time, Jessica's efficiency and attention to detail ensured we didn't have any worries about paperwork, approvals, etc., and her sweet smile greeted us each time we were there. We have both experienced PT in the past, and frankly did not feel it was a good use of our time or money. Your team not only ensures the physical healing/recovery, but also made the experience fun and pleasurable! The physical therapists at Benchmark are great. I had Blake and Casey in Knoxville. However, there billing department always seemed a bit off to me. Today, May 2, 2017, I get a bill from Benchmark for November 4, 2014. I thought I was paid up and I get a bill over 2 years later for 390.00. I am going to report their practices. You can't get anywhere when you call the billing department. I'm also going to try to get my insurance company to look into this company's billing practices. I should not be getting a new bill for 390.00 over 2 years later. This is crazy and I don't trust the company. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I was given terrible care at Benchmark...where my therapist would shuffle between me and two or three other patients during my appointment time. I suffered spasms and pain due to what I was assigned to do from across the room. So most of my time there was spent trying to undo what they had caused. For this, I was charged a great deal of money. And then came their "billing services", which sent me to collections even though I paid them every time I went to therapy, paid them immediately for the first extra bill they sent, called 8 times in one month (only two of which were returned and both at times I had made it clear I would not be available) trying to resolve a billing question, sent them another check..and still was turned over to collections.
