I broke my wrist on Dec 31, 2016 in Sunriver OR at approximately 11am. I spent over 8 hours at St…read more Charles ER. The Doctor in the ER took many xrays. She had to reset/rebreak my wrist to realign it. They instructed I get it casted in my hometown Hillsboro OR in 3-5 days. We drove home on January 1. I was in excruciating pain. I saw Dr. Rask on January 4, 2017. He did not even look at the xrays from St. Charles. Instead, he had the staff take xrays. He then came back after observing the xrays to tell me that he needed to rebreak my wrist to realign it. I told him that St. Charles already did not. He said it was not correct. He gave me a shot on the top of my hand and then proceded to break it. I screamed so loud, my friend heard me in the waiting room. They then casted me. I would go back every week complaining that I was in chronic pain. Each time, they would take an xray. I knew something was not right inside. I felt it. At week 5, they removed the cast (which was way to early in my opinion). When it was removed, the bone on my right of the wrist called the ULNA BONE was sticking out. My wrist was deformed. I showed some concern and asked him why it was sticking out and I did not like it. His answer was "well is it more cosmetic thats bothering you? I left his office very sad and unhappy. I went elsewhere for a second opinion. The Dr. told me it was not normal and he reviewed all the xrays from St. Charles. He requested xrays from Dr. Rask. All he received was one xray of a HAND and not a wrist. I called the office and told them I wanted my xrays. They were rude to me and hung up several times. I drove to the office and demanded my xrays/medical records. Dr. Rask was on the computer for 45 min. while I was waiting for my records. I am positive he tampered with my xrays and got rid of them to protect his ass. What I found out was St. Charles Doctor in the ER did a perfect job realigning my wrist, therefore, there was no need for Dr. Rask to rebreak it. I called my sister in law who retired from being a nurse. She did some investigating to find out Dr. Rask had a previous malpractice suit against him. She was convinced he tampered with my xrays and says it happens alot. I had to go through extensive therapy, had to have a bone stimulator for several weeks. Nothing helped. My PT looked at Dr. Rask xrays and said something was wrong. Needless to say, two years later, I am still in chronic pain. I had to quit my job as a hairstylist and had to retire, something I loved to do more than anything. My wrist will never be the same. It is DEFORMED. I can't write for more than 5 min, still can't wipe when I go to the bathroom with my right hand (sorry I know that's personal), on top of many other things that normal people do on a daily basis. I have all the pictures to prove it, all my medical records, etc. I have tried hiring 2 attorneys. Because he is well know in his community, they didn't want the case. I won't stop. I will make sure this Dr. does not do this to anyone else. He is truly the worst orthopedic Dr, the most arrogant and full of himself. DO NOT GO SEE HIM!

Everyone in The waiting room also had to wait over an hour. Terrible customer service, and bad reception staff... don't waste your time here. Now if they served snacks and beer to compensate for that wait, I'd be down, but that's not the case. Don't come here.

This was easy, I was taken in quickly, and preregistered easily on MyChart, the corporation's proprietary website. Check-in at the clinic took about 5 minutes, I was taken to the examination room at the appointed time, and Dr. Carol Chang, a DO specializing in sports medicine, examined me thoroughly. First-rate bedside manner, listened well, and did not push chargeable procedures. She called up the x-rays on her desktop computer and explained to me what was going on. I was given exercises to do, as we were in accord about proceeding conservatively. I have no hesitation in recommending this clinic or this provider. I am given to understand that when Salem Health acquired this clinic on 9/29/23, nearly all the former staff were retained.

By the time I arrived home, my knee was sore and swollen. My PCP referred me to a sports medicine specialist for an MRI, and I learned that I'd torn my ACL tendon. My options were limited, cortisone shot, ice and care with my movements. The only other option was surgery. Fast-forward to 2020 after my relocation to Oregon. I'd done okay since, with the occasional pain and swelling. I was excited to explore the wilderness and go hiking in the PNW! I joined my kids on a trip to Silver Falls and made the challenging 7 mile hike, but paid for it afterwards and knew I couldn't continue without addressing my knee. I got another MRI locally confirming the damage and delayed seeing an Orthopedic doctor during the pandemic. Once I felt more comfortable, I went to a consultation at Hope Orthopedic and heard, once again, that my options were either to live with the pain and swelling and be careful OR to have surgery. I gave the green light and got a call to schedule with Willamette Surgery Center (a couple blocks down the street) within a couple of weeks. I'd received a call outlining everything, but no reminder about test requirements and had to delay because of a lack of a required Covid test 2 days prior. Pretty unusual, I thought, in this day and age of text reminders! Either way, I pushed it about 2 weeks out and confirmed my 18+ adult driver/health supervisor for the next few days. My friend was great to be there (Willamette Surgery Center) for me and took good care of me afterwards. I've since seen my doctor and had multiple physical therapy appointments and am on my way to recovery! The PT has been essential in the success and I've enjoyed seeing the progress. Thanks to all at Hope Orthopedics, I'm looking forward to hiking again without pain this Spring!
