Within minutes of evaluating her feet and watching her walk across the floor, he knew exactly what she was experiencing. I just hate we did not take her to see him sooner. My daughter is eleven years old with flat feet, and growing quite rapidly over these past months. Dr. Dick examined her heels and he knew right that she has Sever's Disease (Heel injury due to growth spurts) or also called calcaneal apophysitis. He also noticed how tight she was, and really took time to talk to us about the importance of proper stretching before and after playing. I highly recommend anyone with heel or foot pain that you go to Abingdon Therapy Services to be evaluated. Dr. Jamie Dick took time to create an exercise plan for our daughter, and worked through it on site to make sure she understood the correct way to do them. He also created hand made insoles in his office before we left molded especially for each foot to be worn in her shoes and cleats. I wished the communication between the nursing staff and the doctors had been better, it could have saved my mother's life. She needed to be sent out to the hospital and the physicians assistant should have ordered testing to diagnosis her with her symptoms. She was septic when she left the facility in the middle of the night and in just a few hours on arrival to the hospital she was in septic shock. My mom did not make it. I trusted them to take care of her!!

A close friend was admitted here after a long hospital stay. My wife has her medical power of…read moreattorney. Admissions director was snip and curt. Not at all pleasant to deal with. Lots of promises for special services made but very very poor delivery. Even getting money back out of the patient's own account (to buy personal items) is a hassle. It has been 6 weeks, so far, to get the most recent reimbursement and we still don't have it! "Sorry, we still have no petty cash!" What? For 6 weeks!? On the plus side, the building looks and smells clean. When important questions as to coverage of care by Medicare, medicade, SSI, etc arose the only one who seemed interested in helping get answers was the Social Worker. When she brought in the Admissions Director we got the same disinterested responses as we got during the admissions process. This woman is obviously solely interested in getting people admitted (and only on HER schedule) and is lousy at providing good customer service. Our friend has repeatedly been ignored while in "physical therapy". She is wheeled into the room, then left to sit for a couple hours. The Social Worker said the PT manager claims she "sleeps during PT." Turns out that's true...she falls asleep while being left sitting and ignored. We could NOT recommend this facility for a loved one. It seems that once they get a customer in the door, their motto, "Serving you from the heart" ends.

They almost got shut down last year for violations- AND THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN! It reeks of urine; the nurses are cold and unhelpful. The PA pretended she was not the PA when I asked to speak to her. All-in-all a horrible place!
